@@6fathom117 TRUUUUUUUUUUUUUE, after being blessed with mod maps I could never go back to the base ones without feeling like they could have mapped them so much better, welp here's hoping ost pack 4 this 26th will be mapped better
@@jasperkuijstermans171 yeah the new ost is a bit meh i guess, i feel they cant ever make them really good due to having to map all from easy to expert + and make the transition fluid thus limiting creativity
Using more wrist is a playstyle, it won't make you better if you use more wrist, it will just make your wrist more hurt and let your arms have to their job less hard.
The ending is literally you pulling an Alexander the Great: "When Alexander saw the breadth of his domain, he wept, for there were no more worlds to conquer" lmao. Very impressive!
For those who don’t know how hard ghost really is stand up move you arms as fast as you can and do that for 6 minutes straight and it’s still harder then that because you have to do it in certain patterns
And the average person cant even move their arms fast enough to beat it. Beat Sabers hardest Expert+ levels quite literally take real fitness training to beat.
@samdoesstuff Yeah, well I know its not like my wrists are stiff, you just really have to move fast is all Im saying, you could always have more wrist movement I agree
When he said “I could do the songs with ghost notes and matching colors” I was like: nah he’s dragging it out. Then he showed the clips. And it blew my damn mind
I don’t memorise patterns since my eyes can comprehend them- no matter how fast. So when I play these songs, it’s all about how fast I can swing my arms and see if I can succeed. But with ghost notes…. I struggle greatly.

The biggest tip for beatsaber is definitely dont think, once you master that and letting your arms move seperately, its surprising how good your sight reading gets lmao
Actually. Surprisingly. I think Ghost made me love the game even more. The challenge, the will to move forward. I even bought a quest to get custom songs to keep on bettering myself in it. And I think it was worth it. It's made my arms weak and make me want to cry at times, sure. But nothing hits like ghost. Ghost is a hazing ritual. Your first genuinely and truly "Impossible" map. And once you beat it... well... you crave more. You want to get faster, get more stamina, go for the top. And it feels great seeing where I've come from to where I am now. Watching my parents play $100 Bill's on Medium difficulty. I was there once. I was that small, insignificant speck in the Beat Saber world. And now I feel I can accomplish much more than I thought. Are there days when I want to break walls and toss controllers... yes. Is there a waking moment when I'm not thinking about maps and patterns... no. Does it keep me occupied, alert, and keep me bettering my own skills. Yes. I gained muscle mass through this game. I went from a scrawny 100 pound kid to a pretty good 125. Now. It's not all muscle. Jesus if it was I'd look immense. But this story is one of aspiration, one saying to follow your dreams and whenever you reach a goal, go further, go faster, go harder. It's all worth it in the end. Seeing your name on those leaderboards. It feels like heaven. Even if it's for a short time. You can say that you were on there. You got a top score.
Sir/Ma’am, thank you for your service. You truly have achieved greatness and I admire you for it. Keep going. Don’t stop. Continue to persevere and inspire. You have my respect
19:34 you have achieved something called the flow state it makes you do something perfectly not without even knowing you are doing it, its that or you have ptsd

About 3 months ago, I started my journey to beat Ghost on Expert+. Using this video, and the levels you chose to complete in increasing difficulty, I finally beat ghost today. To be 1608 on the global leaderboard, its an honor
10:42 “Knees were weak and palms were sweaty, but victory was achieved and I knew I was ready.” Not only are the songs fire and his arms on fire but also his bars be fire XD
I was going to try to learn how to master this game after getting it for the first time last week. This video genuinely made me reconsider it. I find the game so fun, I don’t want it to become an obsession of self-improvement. I’ll keep playing on hard/expert and just enjoy it instead.
Honestly the most fun I have in Beat Saber comes from finding new maps that match my current skill level and coasting along there. If I get better over time, that's great, but I don't play to get better, I play to have fun.
Yeah being bad is so much fun. That's why I don't apply myself to anything in life. What's the fun in challenging yourself when you can just get a participation trophy?
Yeah, I started playing Jan 1st 2022 and I have mostly just played the songs and difficulties at my skill level. Once I discovered custom songs about 2 weeks ago I played more and improved rapidly. It made the game much more fun as my skill level before them was I could beat all expert levels in the OST except for the Camilla tab, and now I can beat all but 4 and the Camilla tab on Expert + on the free songs. If you get custom songs, and just play the ones at your skill level, it makes the game so much more enjoyable and lets you improve faster because it makes you see patterns you are not used to see which improves your overall "processing power" for the patterns.
It's all about balance I guess. I've become hooked on Elden Ring, and the fact that it's challenging is what makes it so rewarding when you finally defeat a boss. Beat Saber is similar...you can practice the same thing over and over and over until you succeed... That's a valuable life lesson. But at the same time, it's just a game. It's not going to change your real life much. Presumably you're doing it because it's an enjoyable way to spend time. For me, having the right amount of challenge is what makes it enjoyable. And setting goals and accomplishing them is enjoyable. But life's about the journey. Also, just getting into the zone and grooving to beats is really fun. And you can improve a lot by just putting it on practice mode and not worrying about the score. This is something Ido portal talks about...the importance of exposing yourself to different levels of challenge. You need to really push yourself and be on your edge sometimes. It makes you feel alive, it's how you learn and grow. Frustration is the feeling of learning. But too much will burn you out. Sometimes you just need to be in flow state, doing what you already know how to do and no longer have to think about it.
Some good ways to get good at beat saber: 1. Know how your headset tracks. Oculus uses cameras on the front which means you must keep your arms in front of you or else it won’t track. Vive uses trackers in the controllers so it can track anywhere in the headsets proximity. Also know what affects tracking like lights and infrared sensors 2. Assume on every up swing there is a down swing. Most songs go by that pattern 3. Don’t go up a difficulty unless you consistently get high scores on the difficulty you’re on. You will make yourself mad if you go up too soon 4. Know what the easier songs are when you go up a difficulty. It helps with keeping rage on the down low 5. Remember to have fun. It’s easy to get frustrated in beat saber. Find a song that you enjoy and is in a comfortable difficulty and play it when you get mad 6. DONT THINK. Beat saber is one of those games where if you overthink it you’ll lose, and if you’re unfocused you’ll lose too. Playing beat saber well (in my case) requires you to have an out of body experience and get lost in the music. Don’t think in specific patterns. Just do it Hope this helps!
Tier List goes S- Beating Fatalis(MHW), Alatreon (MHW), Ex Deviants(MHGU), or any other big wall on a Monster Hunter game Beat Saber- Beating Camellia songs for the first time on Expert or Expert Plus A- Difficult Soulsborne or Hollow Knight bosses.
I still enjoy watching this video to this day even after watching it many times! I'm currently working on Ghost on Expert+ so I give you top tier props for doing all of this!
I have problems with sensory overload with the faster songs and i end up seizing up and lose focus (not a seizure) and the feeling of doing things you normaly werent able to, basicaly feels like your tapping into ultra instinct and its insane when it first happens
Bruh fr. I’m not this good at the game (yet!) but I got it like a month ago and I just beat Unlimited Power expert+ (multiple tries) Pop Stars expert+ (one try) and balearic pumping expert+ (one try) and I felt like I had leveled up. Like I had unlocked the 5th or 6th gate from Naruto XD I can’t wait for the moment I open the 8th gate/go Ultra Instinct/ascend and beat Ghost expert+. *sigh* but you know what opening the 8th gate does XD
I may not play this game but I completely get the feeling. I would hit scores of 600k+ charts in osumania (I'm not that good) first try sight read and then I'm never able to get even close to that score at later dates. I just question " How the hell did I do that?"
Strange I was recommended this but I also play on Psvr beat saber but I don’t think I have the determination to go to the extent you do so honestly well done
Me; watching the last chapter, see him do light it up with dissappearing arrows and ghost notes me also: u dident gain a disorder, u gained a superpower!
I know where he's coming from, it feels like a disorder because nothing can compete with his skill anymore. Nothing is challenging (unless he got custom songs).
Genuinely one of my favorite videos on youtube. The editing is great, you made an amazing story out of getting better at a game, and had amazing game analysis explanations. Great job!
I've started doing this as well and what he's saying is true. Although my mental stress is not as high as yours, I felt an anxiety just by watching this video. And I've also been hearing the songs too in my head. I haven't beaten it yet but I can understand what this person's feeling.
You could increase stamina, swing speed, accuracy, and range of motion by using your wrist more, if you look at Taichi’s streams with controller visualized you can see he doesn’t swing his arms nearly as much.
Good job beating ghost. I remember when the update was released one of my controllers was broken so i had to wait a month just to play those levels. It wasn’t easy going from beating every level in a single run to not having enough stamina to get through half a level and then playing the hardest levels made by the devs. But the day I got myself two brand new controllers I beat exit this earths atmosphere and the third one (I’m terrible with names) on the first day. Ghost was by far a hard one to crack, but through actual blood, sweat, and some tears I beat it. Now I’m just waiting for gh8st to come out on psvr so I can truly hate myself for buying beat saber. Until then I’ve beaten the hardest the devs have to offer and now I live in the moment. Btw, pls be careful with the psvr controllers. The controllers are like two twigs glued together; any damage to them really hurts the tracking.
In this single 20 minute video, I laughed, I cried, I grimaced, and if it weren’t for the peanut butter and jelly sandwich that i had at the time, been eating, I would have cheered. Truly, congrats and sorry for your loss. Nothing to see here. Just refresh the page and keep scrolling by so you don’t see what’s below. WHICH IS NOTHING. NOTHING IS BELOW THIS TEXT. *If he doesn’t already know, don’t tell him about dankruptmemer I know mods aren’t on PS4 but let’s not encourage more
12:00 To make this pattern easier, I move my right foot forward, turning my whole body with it. If I put my hand far enough forward, it negates the offset between both hands and I just have to swing at the same time with both.
I had a similar journey but on a smaller scale and more recent. Ghost-Expert. I started Beat Saber last Christmas (2020 Christmas) and trained non stop on random songs for 1 1/2 months and another month just for Ghost-Expert. It didn’t hit me as bad as it did you though. I plan to go for Ghost - Expert + eventually but for now I’m gonna stick on the ground and do other songs before the hard ones.
i beat "light it up" expert + and then pulled a muscle trying to do ghost, i had to take a month off, but even after i recovered, i couldn't find the motivation to go back. one month turned to 6 and now i've been thinking about trying again. this journey has both been inspiring and intimidating.
This is what I love about Beat Saber... Simple to learn, but it could take a lifetime to master. It's cool to know there are maps I'd have to become obsessed to an unhealthy degree and give up the rest of my life to able to do. I'm never going to do that, and that's ok! I can do most songs on Expert+, but I like all the rhythm action games, and other VR stuff too, so I'm never going to dedicate myself to it enough to really master it. That's ok with me! But what makes it a fun and rewarding game is that you can do it on and off for years, and you can see how much you've improved...and you never have to stop improving. There's always room to improve, and there are always harder maps you can't do. If you like it so much it's the only game you ever play, that's fine too! Just remember to chill out! It's just a game. Forget about perfection. It's about the journey, not the destination!
Wow man that’s some straight up perseverance. You really just inspired me right now to try to beat this song in beat saber that I was going to give up on. Thank you brother! 👍🏼😁
wow I think this is the best documentary I have ever watched, as someone who can beat ghost on expert plus barely, everything he said was true. I still have dreams about what it took to beat it 😔😔
I beat crystallized /once/, on an adrenaline rush. Can't recreate that. Just did it once. I can consistently beat what the cat, so that's something.. Guess I'll try cycle hit as my next one, then try light it up.
What I find in most games is that you beat a song once on adrenaline rush, then it takes a bit but after a while you reach that stage again. So beating it once proves that you will be able to beat it consistently.
@@MathematicalJoeBiden Yeah this comment aged like milk. Crystallized, and most of this ost, are easy. I also realized that the other songs are mapped so poorly they aren't even fun to play. You just fail and wonder why because you stayed on tempo the entire time and still failed because god forbid the song flows in any way.
i am shook at this gameplay and disturbed at how this affected you, even more so when i saw you hit the ghost blocks at those speed barely missing. I am sorry for what you went through. YOU ARE A GOD!!!
When I first time saw ghost on expert+ I was like ha that's easy, and then the first part started, I was just standing there with open mouth and just listening. Jesus Crist, you are absolut legend
its sucks that PSVR is such a limit on beat saber skill, like not to sounds rude because ghosts is very challenging, but this is nothing compared to top ranks songs like Villain Virus, Machinegun, and You. Also the map patterns in the default songs have terrible patterns that i can stand. Nice video though. If you could invest in a pc and get a pc headset, highly recommended, as mods change everything
I see those top ranked custom songs and I just wonder why is it that you guys are getting the best/hardest stuff while what the devs give us is like easy level difficulty in comparison. It’s not that us psvr players aren’t capable of playing those levels, but if we don’t get hard stuff we’ll never get better.
@@unknownbeing9611 While thats true its not the devs who are giving us anything its the community. The players that make the hardest songs are also sometimes the top players in the world. Even if you guys could also get custom songs however that PSVR tracking it would not keep up :(
I must say, beating ghost is already a challenge, but beating it with heavy controllers and interesting tracking? You sir are a true legend. I have beaten ghost too, but I am still scared to face you. Your video gave me the motivation to beat the pack, and I thank you for it.
Maaaaaaan! That was an awesome story. We with my wife are struggling at just E on Crystalized and Light it Up with no real hope of compliting them. Thanks for the warning! We do not want to break BS as an place of rest and fun.
To all who have problems with PSVR: It works fine once you figured out how to make it work well enough. Here are some of my tips: - Prevent the tracking lights from being reflected by something like mirrors, windows or other highly reflective surfaces. - Turn off any lights which have the same or similar colors like the tracking lights. Maybe, you want to play in the complete dark. You can even turn off your TV and play with the headset only. - Set up the camera at a high angle rather than a low angle and place it away far enough from your area so that you can see your full body in the preview. Try to be in the very center of the camera view as well. - Be sure to clean the lenses from any smudges etc - Make sure the controllers are not too much on low battery. - If you turn on the controllers and they need an eternity to connect to the Playstation, you will probably have tracking issues. It's what I noticed. If they connect almost instantly, it's a good sign. - If the tracking is still not good enough, recalibrate the tracking lights of the controllers. You also might to do this each time, you change the position of the camera. (For instance, I need to set up a tripod in the middle of the room for the PS camera each time I wanna play, because I have no other options than that for a good position) Sometimes the tracking is bad nontheless, but most of the time it works quite well for me. The thing is though, I do not want tracking that only works like 90% and I do not want to go through so much stuff before I can play. Also, I really miss the possibility to play custom maps. That's why I've ordered a Quest 2, but it still haven't arrived yet. After reading some comments, I am quite confident it was a good choice.
This is exactly what I went through in my ghost journey. Down to the psvr for Christmas and everything. It is incredible seeing pretty much exactly what happened to me. I know how it feels to use every drop of energy and still fail. ❤💙
Wait until they get a quest and gets custom songs... oh boy. Look up Cerret on yt and you'll see how insane this game can get. Props to you my man. This takes a whole other level of dedication. Ranked custom songs may be harder technically, but these are much weirder in how they're mapped. Even I can't do this being ranked 1400 in the world, even though I can do "harder" songs.
people dont actually realize how much skill it takes to even be an expert level player or even hard on beat saber. the amount of dexterity is fucked. good job man.
I’m on Rift S for the last year and have about 200hrs in this. No matter what platform you are on, beating Ghost E+ deserves mad respect. Well done and wish you luck with other songs! 🤗
ok my guy, I just watched this video for the first time, and this was comedic gold. I just need you to know that I love you, and this video was awesome. This is the first video on youtube to bring me this much joy in a long time.
6:47 Focusing on one color and letting the other arm go on alutpilot is a technique I started developing a while ago that helped divide the attention I had to pay in half. This is the first time I heard someone else say that they used the same technique. Thanks for the affirmation!
put myself through the same trauma and that didn't change a thing. i actually went on to get custom songs and get WAY better and now i can pass each of the cameilia songs consistently with a score of over a million
