Hey Vy!! Thanks a lot for this video the way you explained was really beautiful and you are definitely an inspiration. Wish you loads of love, health, happiness, and success 💖
thanks for that. I studied Bio-instrumentation (more like the hands-on research oriented version of biological sciences degree at my university). I didn't finish but I transferred to Pharmacy school, where I learn the more practical and clinical side of the sciences. But I want to use my PharmD for more of a pharmaceutical industry type of role. My school offers a 2-year fellowship on Bio-manufacturing where they hire both PharmD or PhD. It's interesting how sometimes different degrees in the sciences or medicine can merge together. I definitely will consider getting a research oriented master's degree (maybe 5 years later) in either biophysics or pharmaceutical sciences to help me complement my doctorate degree.
that's so cool, thank you for sharing!!! it's so great that you get to experience a range of technical skills on the bench and clinical side! I'd definitely love to explore beyond just biomed to have a more holistic view of therapeutic development post-research stage!
@@biomedwithvy yeah I guess it is bench -> epidemiology -> clinical. But it gets complicated if you take into account of ethics, when someone refuses treatments altogether.
Hello Vy! Thank you for another helpful video! Been following you since your Cover letter video! :D Definitely looking forward to more of your videos~ All the best!
Love.
Just because her name is Vy does not automatically makes her a Vietnamese. Its her video, she gets to choose what language she speaks and who her target audiences are. If you would like to help Vietnamese specifically, why don't you ask for her permission to make Vietnamese subtitles for her videos.
Hi Vy 👋 a student here about to apply to university in a few weeks to months time. Would like to ask why did you opt to study both college and the A levels in the UK when you could’ve easily secured a place in NUS or NTU in our neighboring country Singapore, which is a lot closer to home, and are also very prestigious universities at the world scale? Thank you!
That's a great question and honestly one that I don't have a well reasoned answer for. The opportunity for me to study A-Levels in the UK came when I got accepted into a school there, and because I was already in the UK, I was surrounded by mentors who were much more familiar with UK universities and UCAS applications. Hence, I just went along with it as I wasn't very aware of other options at the time. Wish I had a better answer for you, but I was very unfamiliar with many things abroad and simply took opportunities that were presented to me at the time 😅
Ahh thank you so much 😊😊 I will be working in a biotech company once my current contract ends but also looking to apply for a PhD again since my last round was unsuccessful 😅
Can I do research in genetic disorders after mlt ?.....I am currently studying bsc mlt should I take a msc in medical biochemistry or microbiology to do research ???
I made a video on how to write a CV for a RA position, where I also show a preview my resume. You can find the video here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-WGiE5J8P0lc.html
Hi Vy! I am a huge fan of your work and I also dream to be a research scientist in the health sciences. I recently finished my bachelors in medicine and surgery and I would like to do a combined master and PhD in biomedical sciences majoring in cancer research and stem cell studies. Do you think it is a good idea? Please your honest advise is desperately needed. Thank you very much. And good luck in your work.
Heyy, I think oncology and regenerative medicine are fantastic areas of research with growing potential in the coming years, both are fields I personally would love to pursue + immunology, so I may be a bit biased hahaa! Best of luck in your studies 😊
