The Dark Tower was my introduction to Stephen King. Now that I'm stepping outside and reading his more traditional novels it's very interesting to look back on The Dark Tower
@@alexnieves inside the Dark Tower I am a minority because I really enjoyed the Gunslinger. I like that it was short and punchy later on in the series I would say Wolves of the Calla. But I really enjoyed the Wasteland as well
Dark Tower! Yesss! Colour of Magic? Nope! Foundation wasn’t bad! Im nearly 100% audio. I think they’re coming out with new Discworld audiobooks. I look forward to some immersion reading.
Oh hey! I remember you! Good to see you Alex 🤗 I'm chuffed that you're enjoying Discworld enough to have a good explore within it (I have stuff you may find interesting on my channel), and the Sir Terry love always goes down a treat. Hope you and the family are doing well.
I just finished 11/22/63 and I'm currently reading Assassin's Quest. I really want to read more Discworld. I have only read Guards Guards. I would also like to start the Dark Tower series soon, but I have so many other series that I need to finish first.
Love seeing Pratchett love! My tbr for this month is short and sweet since it is finals season so ill be happy if i finish one book really: Assassin's Apprentice by Robin Hobb A Man's Search For Meaning by Viktor Frankl
I love Asimov. He is my favorite of the classics. It's been awhile since I read foundation, but I really liked the first one which I seem to recall being an unpopular opinion but I could be remembering that wrong. Glad you're enjoying the dark tower, I still have the last one still sitting there, we will see if June is the month for it.
This looks like such a cracking TBR Alex- I hope you enjoy Red Seas under red skies. I still have yet to get to Locke Lamora but hopefully soon. Good luck with the reads. I'm currently reading Dune Messiah. I do hope you enjoy The Waste Lands.
I haven’t read anything on the tbr besides Foundation-I liked books 2-4 a good amount, but go into bk 1 with low expectations given it is a collection of short stories/novellas that were serialized. Also those discworld mmpbs are a bitch to read from
So far in june I have read Will by will Smith his memoir Dolores Claiborne by Stephen king I absolutely had a blast reading it and I rewatched the movie as well Over the top by Johnathan van ness their memoir Realm of ash by tasha suri This woven kingdom by tahereh mafi Shadows edge by Brent weeks
That looks like a really good line-up for June. I have just started my own journey through Discworld and am enjoying it so far. Nearly done with Colour of Magic. Happy reading!
I’m so glad you’re loving the weirdness of Dark Tower Alex. I recently finished it, and wow it’s a ride lol. Foundation was a fun book. Nothing earth shattering, but pretty good. I enjoyed the show as well. Im currently reading Assassin’s Apprentice and Dead Beat.
Scott lynch just announced his mental health got better and he submitted a novella trilogy that bridges Gb 3 and 4 and he promised b4 news for july. Edit: should learn to finish the video before commenting lmao
I love Red Seas Under Red Skies, hope you like it. So far in June I've read: *Fantasy* Dresden Files 12: Changes - Plus the short story Aftermath Currently reading: *Fantasy* The Lions of Al-Rassan - Guy Gavriel Kay *Sci-Fi* Bearhead - Adrian Tchaikovsky Slaughterhouse Five - Kurt Vonnegot
Here's what I'm planning on reading in June The pariah by Anthony ryan Paybacks a witch by lana Harper One last stop The war of two queens by Jennifer l armentrout Death on the Nile The house of sky and breath The fires of heaven by Robert Jordan
I really liked the Foundation trilogy, it is not character focused but I still enjoyed all of them, especially the interactions. It has been 6 months and I still think about it. I plan to finish Valor and jump into Ruin right away. If I have time I will also read Who Fears Death, my first Nnedi Okorafor.
In June, I've read The hunt for Red October by Tom Clancy. Currently, I'm reading Harry Potter and the prisoner of Azkaban. I hope I will read Games of State by Jeff Rovin and start Patriot Games by Tom Clancy by the end of this month. Hopefully, Asimov's book is better than the show. I couldn't pass over the first episode. For some reason I can't click with Apple Tv.
I haven't given anything on Apple+ a try because nothing has really seemed appealing so I don't blame you. Is this your first time reading Harry Potter?
Dune has some my fave character and world building for it time but the plot was rushed feeling at the end. I would say philip k dick has more influence in scifi
When you read the Foundation trilogy, you will probably see a lot stuff that Dune took and deconstructed. Especially Book 2-3 of the Foundation trilogy. In terms of it being theme driven that's true, however i think the plotting is honestly pretty good and very snappy. The pacing overall is pretty fast and has very little fat. Its different from Philip K Dick, if you are concerned about that. Also same i need to read more Stephen King, I want my next read of his to be IT ... ( but its scary the size). The new Discworld audiobooks i also gotta check out but i still have series that i need to finish haha. I don't have too much concrete plans but I do wanna read Fall of Babel, The Count of Monte Cristo and eventually get to WoT 4.
I think most of my June will be taken up by Crippled God. I'm about halfway through it and the month is halfway over so yeah. I've been rereading wheel of time on audiobook and I'm on Knife of Dreams now. After Crippled God I'm probably going to read the 2nd death book in Discworld. I've already read all the city watch books plus Mort. They're a nice break after Malazan. Hope you enjoy Gentlemen bastards. It's definitely not for me.
