Omg the Dumb and dumber reference hahaha, also Hoovie that Diablo is absolutely stunning to look at. I LOVE the silver!!! Please don't sell that any time soon, I want to experience it vicariously through you.
Hoovie two months ago: "I am going to refocus the channel on going back to my roots of buying cheap old hoopties and not buy supercars anymore..." (two months later buys a pair a Lambos).
Not a co owner but he is a franchisee of multiple locations I think. I’m pretty sure he doesn’t actually run them tho and it’s more of a passive income from that
Of 'career' RU-vidrs, most definitely! Even if you count Salomondrin who mad his money as an Ex-Pat Mexican diplomat. Also not sure if Manny or Harry's Garage count by my own invented rules...
@@MountainSlayers Jay Leno is the best, because he maintains them, he repairs them he enjoys every single car he owns, he drives them all...no matter how expensive or how rare the car is, he will drive it...... and thats why Jay Leno has the coolest collection. Hoovie is entertainment ...just a simple fun, thats all, you cant call it a collection if he always sells them in the end.
@@jaunteraudi817 It is a collection though, its still a grouping of cars. Collections are always open to change at any time. I'm a bassist and have a collection of about 7 basses and 2 guitars, but they aren't always the same. Some get traded, some get sold, so I can get a different one I want. Some of the coolest collections are ones that are always changing. In that line up though, you may keep a certain instrument around and never get rid of it. Something you truly can't part with. For me, that's my 1970's Aria Jazz Bass. For Hoovie, it's his Mercede's Benz that his grandmother gave him and what sparked his love for cool cars. A collection is still a collection, even if it changes from time to time.
Interesting fact: the later Diablo used the "...run of the mill headlights..." from the 1990's era Nissan 300zx. The actually had to put a very thin strip of Carbon Fiber along the bottom lip of the headlight so that customers couldn't see the "Nissan Motor Company" branding embossed in the glass. Love that you got these cars...I love the Countach but the Diablo is probably the one to keep. Great video, as always.
I remember being at work one day and the walls started to buzz like an angry swarm of bees were about to attack. I opened the back door of the building and there in the parking lot was a Diablo spider, same color as this one. It was just idling and sounded like it was ready to kill people. It was the most glorious sound!
Stuck on the M25 near London once a black Diablo was just idling in the traffic, but as you say it sounded like it would eat you if you dared get too close. As pissed off as a car could ever sound, beautiful.
I’d only change one thing in this channel..... the amount of uploads! I absolutely love this channel and is the only time I’ve bought merch from someone. Keep up the great work!
Absolutely hang onto this for a 2-3 years you will quadruple your money or more. The gated manual makes this extremely valuable, and so does that color combination. Congrats Hoovie!
8:35 Those little buttons with the arrows are for suspension settings. I think they had it in some of the Murcielagos too (Sorry about spelling). The owners manual was never very clear about exactly what suspension settings they were though.
@@TheBrentieman I did some digging on the internet since I didn’t remember completely and found that they are for the dampening. Both of those models have electronically adjustable suspension which means you can change the dampening to whatever you want without taking everything apart. It’s kind of like an early version of the suspension adjustment dial on modern McLarens. The front end lift is usually just a button or toggle switch somewhere in the interior.
You need two things that have helped me with similar car geometry: A digital rear view mirror that fits over the existing and uses a camera at the back, and a pair of Puma driving shoes to stop your feet from catching on the pedals in the small pedal box.
No he does have some pretty good buys there Countach is worth at least 250k and the Diablo is close to that the murc is about 180! His deloren is worth over 30k... the sls amg still worth over 100k!! The prowler is worth 30k The other cars well not so much!! But his garage is pretty solid!!
After the Dumb and Dumber intro for the Diabolo, we really want to see the Wizard and you reenact the original Cannonball intro with the Countach (including the skin tight spandex suits and with the Wizard jumping out to cross out the speed limit sign).
Don't worry about the top coming off. I clipped about 170mph with the top on the back without any issues. Also, don't worry about airbags - it doesn't have them (I'm assuming yours is a '97.5 which is what mine is - it looks like it). The passenger side is just an oh-sh** grip. The white buttons change the suspension not the engine; the car will automatically select a stiffness setting for you based on your driving. That's why you see the light change every once in a while. Alternatively you can use the up and down buttons to select it yourself. The horn has a short that I'm now thinking must be fairly common - mine started out like yours but eventually stayed on so I literally ripped the lever off the steering column and pulled on wires until it stopped. They fixed it at the shop but I recommend you getting yours fixed (preemptively) before the same happens to you. It sounds like it's not far from shorting based on the sound of it at 10:00. You will get used to the pedals. I wore special thin soled shoes when I started driving mine - now I'm comfortable driving it with tennis shoes. Tires are easy to find and shouldn't cost more than $1,600 on Tire Rack. I replaced mine shortly after my 25k service. If you're thinking about selling then that's about the time some people do it; same with Ferraris. 25k service is an out-of-engine service that is around $25-30k unless they find something majorly wrong with it. Engines in these cars are strong runners you'll be happy to hear; it's sometimes things around them that fail; door/latch struts, gaskets, etc...
I've always loved the Countach and thought the Diablo didn't measure up looks wise. But this VT is completely changing my mind. It is freaking stunning. Please never sell this car and do videos on it forever!
the rear Countach tires.. on a short stand to keep the sides off the carpet with a round glass top make excellent end tables.. since you replaced all 4.. you can do a rear with a front on top with a glass table top ..
tell Bob, the new owner that you can get a specially made inlet manifold for a holley carb conversion, mire power and driveability but also much more reliable, as the "triple" choke original setup is notorious in europe for issues, it shows this conversion in "Wheeler Dealers", Mike Brewer & Ed China , buy one from france and fix it up in the uk. Mike now does a series in USA, possibly florida based?.... check out the episode.
"Spent myself broke" = I liquidized a small percentage of my assets for these purchases, which will actually pay for themselves, and then some, in RU-vid revenue.
Bwahahahaha.... (imagining). THAT, would be hilarious... you should suggest this on Jeff’s channel now that he has that show “the world according to Jeff Goldblum” or something like that. He would probably come interview Hoovie.
@@erikanthony6131 nah he definitely meant Goldblum. watch his mannerisms and the cadence of Goldblums words and they directly align with Hoovie, much like DeMuro and Jay Leno match cadence and mannerisms
3rd time petitioning for Tyler Hoover to recreate the scene from the Wolf of Wall Street with his Lambo with the Car Wizard and the Car Ninja as Margot Robbie Like so he can see this
Hoovie I've been a car enthuast my whole life, and take it from me your garage is F'ing perfect, like from a bat guano gallardo knock off to two Genuine Lamborghini V12's, like what an upgrade and if you gotta sell anything to keep these, its gotta be the creamscyle, as these are way way cooler than that thing, like the murcie may have a geniune V12, but the rest isnt even comparable.
The Diablo rear wheel openings are an homage to the original Countach wheel openings, before they were ruined by the tacked on flares. And the headlights on later Diablos were from the Nissan 300ZX of that era. lol.
You need to get them sorted by the Wizard and put them on the top shelf of your garage rack. All three Lambo's lined-up on the top shelf would be great to see. 👍🏻
When you go back and look at the early 60's Ford race cars, like the Lola, Cooper King Cobra and Gt 40 prototypes, you see a lot of elements of those designs that were used in this car.
Both the countach and diablo could benefit of one of those camera/rear view mirror kits......the camera mounts on the licence plate frame and the screen clips over the rear view mirror.....
After looking up prices on these, (ESPECIALLY the countach) I reaaaaaallly want to know what he spent. I know he mentioned an ultimatum sorta thing on the last video but damn. Countachs are like $425-600k min alone. I know Hoovie is rich now but damn. These arent exactly very broken looking.
this car is timeless. Hope you will also do some ebike modifications too. I start riding a lot rather than driving recently. I would love to see your such content.
