Gino is the 4.5 boogeyman. What a nightmare. A pusher that can hit hard when they want to. Good win. Great play on both sides.

First time watching the channel. I want to preface that you have very nice solid strokes and I think you are a solid 4.5. I was surprised to see the level of players at this tournament to be honest, as to me, it is not as high as I see here the Northern California vs the 4.5's I play week in and week out. But I think most 4.5 players here in Norcal protect their ratings as not to get bumped up to 5.0. Congrats on winning the tourney and best of luck at 5.0. From what I have seen, most 5.0's might as well be open players.

@advantagetennis3459 6 дней назад
@javace79 You're right. Most 5.0s play open, so there tends to not be that many tournaments with a 5.0 division. I'll lose in the first round of most opens. I'll have to put in a lot of practice to compete.

I gotta say Gino looks like the ultimate pusher. Hits his shots like a3.5 but he gets them in consistently and annoyingly over and over again .
@Pierre-ld5oj
@Pierre-ld5oj 4 дня назад
yea 4.5 has a lot of stucked pusher that cant go higher as they'll be punished but wins against not so consistent 4.5 that have great shots at time but makes too many unforced errors. Very annoying to play, but you gotta beat the to graduate 4.5 😅

Good vid as always. I know it's hard to keep track, but in your video editor you may have a way to tell when the audio is running a high volume due to some of the planes flying over. Might I suggest some audio normalizing there to keep things from blasting off. It's been a hot day and it straight up went from normal tennis to blasting my ears, giving quite the headache.

@raiderraider11 I am using the aero 98. No mods. Feelings good all around. I have used the plus size version for all my racquets in the past and I'm kinda missing it for my serves but we'll see if I change it up.

I'm just wondering why you want to move up from 4.5? Are you at the top of the rankings? I remember playing 4.5 tourneys and there were hardly any 5.0 singles draws so mostly everyone played 4.5 but that was like 10+ years ago in southern California.
@advantagetennis3459
@advantagetennis3459 4 дня назад
@chewey3rd That's still true today. There aren't many 5.0 draws but I want to get better and in order to do that I have to play against people that are better than me.
@chewey3rd
@chewey3rd 4 дня назад
@@advantagetennis3459 I hear ya but when I was playing the 4.5 tourneys, I usually made it to the semis or finals at many tournaments and the level of play was very strong. Some of the strongest players were usually at the 4.5 sectionals and the money tourneys in Palm Desert and also the grandprix finals which were invitational only depending on your singles or doubles ranking. Anyways, best of luck and keep up the great work on the vids.

Great stuff. As someone else said I don’t really understand the systems of USTA and UTR but like you said in the comments before, you would start at like a 4.5 if you play and are athletic and fit right? I think I’m at this level. Looking at your competition and all lol
@Scarvernoin
@Scarvernoin 6 дней назад
def not, not that you arent at this level but if you play and are athletic and fit that won't get you to 4.5- most likely 3.5 or 4.0 at best. 4.5 you have pretty good strategy understanding and your shots hold up under pressure
@advantagetennis3459
@advantagetennis3459 6 дней назад
@devpatel7154 If you can, play against someone who knows their rank with certainty and decide what tournament to join from there. Like @Scarvernoin said, being athletic and fit is a great starting point, but being 4.5 out the gate is rare. I've been thinking about making a video on the different ranks now that I've gone through some of them. Maybe that would be more insightful.

@devpatel7154 If you think you can play close to this level, start at 4.0 & let the system bump you up if needed. You definitely don't want to start too high in USTA as you'll have to wait awhile to get bumped down & its not always easy.
