MY LAST DAY AS A DOCTOR... (After Over 30 Years of Clinical Medicine) 

Hey everyone! Thank you for being so supportive over the years. This is not the end of the journey but rather the end of a long and wonderful chapter. The channel will live on and we will work hard to find ways to produce content for everyone! Happy New Year

The United States needs more doctors like Dr. Paul. We need caring, non judgemental, old-school doctors who are in the field for good and not money.

Dr. Paul was my pediatrician from from when I was an infant to when I was 18 (born in late 1990’s). He’s a great doctor. I was his patient before he left his old practice. I admire him for leaving his old practice in 2008 and stood up for what he believed in. Congratulations on a great career career Dr. Thomas!

What has been done to Dr Paul is truly heartbreaking and a real travesty of what America looks like. Our prayers are with you.

What a true doctor looks like. He kept his oath to himself and his patients he took until the very end, never backing down, and always doing his best to do the right thing. I wish more doctors we like you instead of treating their patients like we are on an assembly line, or not being able to practice medicine the way the want to because of who they are working for. You will be extremely missed. Best of luck on whatever you choose to do next, and so hope we will still hear from you.

When I first found Dr. Paul on RU-vid I actually considered moving to Oregon, just so he could be my sons pediatrician. Such a loss to that community thanks to corrupt med board. I read your Vaccine Friendly book when my daughter was pregnant with her first child and she was questioning if she should vaccinate. That book changed my life. I started to question everything. I retired early from my job because of the mandates and I am learning that there are so many things out there to discover! I can’t even begin to express my gratitude. 13 years ago, October 2009, I'll never forget you coming into my dimly lit hospital room at St. Vincent in the wee hours of the morning after my daughter was born. You were dressed in a Hawaiian shirt and so cheerful, but quiet as you gave Audrey her first check up, the first of many over 13 years. We were able to see you one last time in November too. You took the time to visit and reassure us that this was not the end, just a new chapter for you. Over these 13 years we have been so grateful to have you as her doctor. I watched dr Paul when I first started to practice and didn’t have anyone to turn to for advice. I was fortunate enough to attend one of his lectures in Maryland and also bought your book. Through his words I could feel the passion he had in helping people. As the medical world becomes overrun by insurance companies and bid entities with too much bureaucracy. It will be harder and harder to find Drs like Dr Paul. Thank you Dr Paul for paving the way for the truth.

So sorry to hear this Dr. Paul. I wish there were more doctors like you who promote informed consent. Just 3 weeks ago we welcomed our second born, and we did things a bit differently at his birth compared to our daughter’s. I’ll spare the details but there was a step we chose to waive, and one of the nurses tried intimidating us into changing our minds, saying “no pediatrician will see you.” The best part was when the pediatrician came into our room (same one our daughter sees) and we told her what the nurse said, she just kind of paused before saying, “Um… definitely not true.” Thank you for being such an advocate for parents and kids. ❤

Im just starting my practice as a children's doctor and I really look up to you, the way you talk to the kids. At the same time, my heart really goes out to you, because I kind of imagine what it is like to leave your practice. Surreal, heartbreaking. We complain about this job, about parents and sometimes even kids, the noise, the know-better parents but we cannot live without our patients. Im really happy to get back to work after a long holiday. I get really excited when summer's going to an end and I begin to see kids with wheezes and crackles. You can't see too many patients because it's going to drain all of your energy and make you resentful, but at the same time not seeing patients at all is sad. It's hard to say, that's it. Many doctors here in my country work until they die and it's not for financial reasons only. Sometimes when I worry if my decisions are fine, I watch some of your videos and I see my practice reflected in yours, and I'm reassured. Here in our country we send kids to a hospital much sooner, they are hospitalized for longer and there is a great pressure to run many tests even with mild conditions. It's considered to be safer for the doctor to refer a child to an ER than to risk them getting worse at home, for legal reasons. At the same time, we practice the same EBM all around the world, or at least strive to do so.

Man you are such a great doctor, my grandfather was a pediatrician for over 30 years as well at Vancouver Clinic Washington State. You did great work, and I thankyou alot! My grandpa respects you as well, taking a journey that was not easy, but in the end able to help children, on his last day in the clinic it was almost the exact same as yours as well. He came to work on his last day thought it was just a normal day lol, and he helped his patients until the day was done. His name was Juan Antonio Rivera-De Leon.
