Hi, my name is Jen I am 44 and live in Connecticut with my husband and 8 year old son. I am a stay-at-home Mom and full-time RU-vidr with a degree in business with a focus in marketing. Before leaving work when my son was born, I was a commercial lender at a bank. I also worked at Sephora and Macy's doing visual merchandising.
I have dry skin with some hyperpigmentation and fine lines. I love natural makeup looks but occasionally go outside my comfort zone a little bit. On my channel you'll find lots of videos about drugstore makeup and drugstore dupes (those are my favorites to film!) but I also review high-end makeup as well. Wear Updates! 1. The CT foundation stick was really nice! It was pretty long lasting on my dry skin but just keep in mind that it has sheer coverage, so it's more like a skin tint. 2. The Milk Makeup mascara wore great, no smudging or flaking, I actually took it on vacation with me this week! 3. I loved how long wearing the Hard Candy blushes were...definitely a hidden gem since that brand is hit or miss for me. 4. The elf and Inn Beauty lip balms are great, I brought them on my trip also. But I don't like the Hello Sunday one due to the horrible taste!

You should try the McoBeauty Mascara (they have one with built in lash growth serum) but it is great, gives great coverage and lasts all day, no smudging, even on sweaty hot days!! 👌

I love the whole idea of taking a step back to admire, use, and be grateful for the products we already have. Getting new stuff is fun, too, but mixing it up wonderful. I would love to see content maybe rediscovering old favorites, comparing different yearly favorites head to head, dupes, recreating trends, tips and tricks for mature skin. But I totally know you won't disappoint in July...you don't need suggestions :) Looking forward to it!

I’m feeling the same way!! I’ve GOT to just STOP 🛑 ✋🏼for a little while. I have a ton of palettes that I need to use and put into my rotation. During the summer, I wear less makeup overall but for special family events and dates with my husband I have got to try out some other palettes. I absolutely LOVE skin care!!

I love that you’ll be doing content like that. While new stuff is exciting, it’s good to encourage ourselves to use what we already have and stop spending, spending, spending. And honestly, if your collection is big enough, you probably already have the new products. I’d love to see more videos like that even when you’re not in a no-buy.

It's going to be fun to see your no buy July and I'm going to try to do it with you! I've had my RU-vid account for seventeen years, but I was never inspired and excited by other RU-vidrs about new products or just products I'd never tried until I found your channel a few years ago. Your style of filming, presentation, the quality, all the great swatches and in-depth comparisons to similar products are something I'd never found in any other beauty RU-vidr! All that, plus your kind, soft spoken, professional, never snarky, never rude demeanor is a rarity and it's so endearing and beautiful inside and out. Some of my favorite things I got from your recs over the last few years- Several Moira products and I love them all, especially the powder foundation, ABH blush stick in Latte, and I use your dupe for the Hourglass loyal blush all the time. I was so happy when you shared that one! I just got the Laura Gellar bronzer in Fair as well. There's so many, but these were the ones that came to mind first.

Target 's Up and Up spf 50 lip balm is really good and it's only around $5 for two tubes and Blistex spf 30 also comes in a two pack and is good. Neither have a yucky taste as far as I remember.

Jen to the rescue! I’m gonna follow you on no buy July! I need a break also! I have so many new products that are opened but I haven’t gotten around to trying them out yet, the Elf bronzing drops in Rose gold, for one, thank you for showing me how and where to apply them. The NYX Butta Bronzers and blushes I purchased weeks ago, and haven’t touched either. There are so many more items such as the lip products that were on special, I believe it was a few weeks ago, I purchased at an Ulta sale and are opened, swatched but never used. Would like to see a "sunset" blush tutorial. (new trend). Milani sells the whole kit - a liquid coral blush, liquid berry blush, and then a gold/bronze highlighter. So prettyyyy. But you could use some bright liquid blushes & a gold or champagne liquid highlighter. :)

I actually got the elf bronzing drops in the shade you got and tried the r.m.s beauty tip with it and I love how it looks much better than how we was originally taught to put it And I'm excited for the July videos especially with no-buy July plus might be a bad time to mention that hard candy came out with new eye shadow paints that kinda reminds me of about face eye paints(and it makes sense since the other AF co-owner is the one who owns hard candy too) since you was trying the blush and lip oil from hard candy 😂 Also have a great vacation

Hi Jen! I love shop your stash! The Elf Bronzer drops look beautiful on you. I think it’s a mixture of a lighter texture plus realistic application. Would consider those but deciding between them and the Nyx bronzer which look heavenly. Great video tons of stuff!

I still love coming here and seeing what’s new, even though I’m buying way less than I have in the past. In the past 6 years I went from being married with teens, to being divorced, to working in a field that was totally new and unfamiliar, to dating, to becoming an empty nester, to meeting a wonderful man, to moving to a new hometown, to getting married! Through all these huge life changes, this is the one constant in my life. These days, I’m spending my time on a beautiful, clear lake and not wearing much makeup anymore- but I still come here to see what’s new! I’ve been loving the sunscreen reviews and mascara and bronzer recommendations too. That’s about all I wear these days. Maybe a bit of brow pencil, blush and concealer too! I am about to clear out my makeup collection and pack it all away. I’ve kept it in a drawer, but finding I’m only picking up 3 to 5 items daily. I wonder if it’s his is a lot of people’s revolution or just mine. A lot of my makeup routine is just due to the change in work and making a move to a lake town where my circle of friends are now those who kayak and are playing pickleball and spending most of their free time on and in the lake all summer. In the off season, there is hiking and other outdoor and casual activities.

In a moment of weakness, I bought all five elf lip glosses and I have no regrets. They seemed like a cross between a lacquer and a gloss and their beautiful colors. Elf has always made great lip products and these are another nice addition. I’m interested in the colourpop liquid blushes. In the next applicable sale 😊

My favorite SPF lip balm is O' Keeffe's SPF 35 lip balm. It has a orange flavor and it doesn't taste bad at all. SPF 35 is pretty good too. I used at the beach when we went to Florida last month and my lips were good.

My choice for mineral sunscreens are Dr. Dennis Gross SPF 30 and 50. Love the thin consistency. R&R SPF 50 tinted sunscreen.😊

Jen, were you reading my mind?? I just placed an order with ELF today. I picked up the bronzing drops in gold, to go with my porcelain complexion.(I need yellowy undertones or I'll look like I have a bad burn. On your suggestion, I'm trying the Satin Finish foundation.(One of the palest shades. If you think you're fair, you should see me!) I also bought the lipgloss with SPF 23 in Peachy Qween and It's my Jam. I also decided to try two of the liquid camo blushes. I had to get a new tube of Lash Extender Mascara(love it love it love it!) I'm not sure what else I got, but it should be here by Monday. Can't wait. Heading to Chincoteague in a couple weeks, then from there, I'm going down to Chesapeake to visit my brother. I may be gone for a whole month. I need the rest.

I was in the worst mood today and took a break to watch u. Been thinkin about CT’s foundation stick to wear with spf for summer .looks like it’d be great for me.your research & background info is amazing . I've started doing bronzer like you are now and it makes so much sense.doing what the world is doing gets to be routine and we forget the laws of nature and I feel like well yes the sun does do that 😂😂

I laughed at your Diet Coke chaser after removing the Hello Sunday lip balm. 😂 I know this reaction. It's so unfortunate that the chemical sunscreen filter leaves a horrible taste and gets in your mouth no matter what. It makes for a very smooth lip treatment experience, but ugh. I do think the high SPF is a factor, because I bought that Black Girl Sunscreen SPF50 clear gloss and had the same experience. Love the CT stick on you, though. What a match!

Hi Jen, I got a trick for you. It’s Jennie you get the canned of Nivea and put a dab in your moisturizer at night. I’m talking like a fingernail full. It’s made my skin so hydrated and I am usually pretty dry.

I heard the Tatcha Kissu spf lip tints are nice with zero spf flavor. I personally haven’t tried them, but I’ll probably pick up a shade. I love just about anything from Tatcha, so I’m hopeful they’ll be good. 🤞That Milk mascara looks promising too, but I finally got my hands on the Elf tubing mascara so I’ll give that a go first. No buy July sounds great 😁 I said to myself at the beginning of the year I wasn't going buy anything else unless I ran out of something because I've got enough products, only lasted a month 😅 bought new stuff in February and been buying products since 🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️😅😅😅 Now I really don't need anything else 🤣🤣 So no buy July sounds great 🤣🤣🤣 But I have to say the Elf Bronzing drops look great on you, with that light brown eyeshadow stick it really suits you and looks like you've been in the sun 😊😊

I am super curious to try the CT foundation stick after seeing your review! That is a spot-on shade match for you! The Lancôme stick is my favorite, as well. Have you tried the Ulta Moisturizing Foundation Stick? That one is a close second, for me! 🥰

OH! Hurry up and buy the Blend Bunny "Longing" palette before July. I'm actually going to buy it... It looks like the perfect cool tone palette for me. It even has olive tones in it as a contrast instead of orange or peach.... Thank you and good luck in July!
