This is a bittersweet video to make but I'm so happy that I had this lovely down time to share some amazing places with all of you before some chaotic changes in life. Maddie, just returned from a week in Germany 🇩🇪, I had great time exploring Berlin & Hamburg with some locals. One of the places in Hamburg that I kept pulling back was St. Nicholas Memorial. This church was destroyed in 1842 by fire, rebuilt 1846 - 1874, then destroyed in 1943 “Operation Gomorrah” firestorm in World War II. The remains now stand as a memorial, “For the Victims of War and Tyranny 1933-1945”. One of the amazing things are the bells in the bell tower still work and have regular scheduled rings & music played by them. Safe travels on you approaching trip.

My friend, growing up, went to Bodega Bay to live for several years while we were in school here in the Midwest. He came back and told me that I need to go and check it out. I can see now what all he was talking about with the wonderful, coastal scenes. He is a painter like you. Nice video, thanks.

@@Maddie.taylor Ah, I see, thanks for the response and clarification. I try to watch all your latest videos but maybe I've missed some or I was distracted when you talked about this. Been planning an overseas trip myself later this year and sometimes I play videos in the background while searching for flights, hotels, etc., or doing other things. In any case I'm so glad to hear that this has been in the works for some time and not sudden let alone for "bad" reasons like burnout and such. It's just that a bunch of my favorite vanlifers have recently quit vanlifing or vlogging about vanlifing, and more generally some of my favorite YTers have recently quit making videos or drastically changed their content so I was also wondering if something's been going on with YT, SM or the like that's been causing this, or it's just a coincidence. Best of luck with the new adventure and looking forward to your posts on it!

You will always make the best videos that you can in anyway. You've been great with having the van. Sometimes you never know what comes in mind over moving on with new things out there. I also enjoy doing as much road trips, when having a day off from work. The links from your videos have some good ideas for what I may do for future reference. Good luck on your next adventure. Hey Maddie, I've been watching your videos for a little while now, and love how artistic you are with them. I also love your paintings. I was wondering, when you first started vanlife, were you nervous about sleeping by yourself? Last night I slept in my 5th wheel camper alone for the first time. Let's just say I was a bit nervous, considering I had seen two bears earlier that day on the property while going for a walk. Lol. Didn't sleep very well. Hopefully after time it gets more comfortable for me. It was super amazing to see them, don't get me wrong. I think I was over hyped about it and every little noise made me think they were trying to get in, haha.
