I wash my hair in hot water when my hair is short I can get away without sectioning but my hair grows mega thick and I get better access to my scalp and less tingles when I section once my hair when it gets to a certain point. I definitely think the natural hair community needs to promote more “learning your hair” “do what’s best for your hair” because when I first started out I did everything I was told including going ham with coconut oil. Just to develop a allergy to it. Now I have my own routine that works for me 👍😁
Yes , I definitely agree with you! We all just need to do what works best FOR US ! Ditch all the rules and get to the ROOT of it all ( pun intended lol) . But seriously, we need to focus on what grows out of our head and not constantly envying the hair that grows out of someone else’s hair. As a black woman with tight coils I would often look at girls with looser textures and feel like their hair was so much more beautiful. It was only until I slowly learned how to embrace my own hair when I realized that there’s absolutely nothing wrong with my coils.
I use lukewarm water to wash my hair; it's hot now. I do not part my hair in four sections; I wash all my hair at once. I use Pantene classic clean 2 n 1 shampoo and conditioner to get everything out of my hair. I wash and styled my natural curly hair today. 😩 It's a long process but the hair be looking 👀 good for another week. 🙌
I only do a cool water rinse on my final conditioning step. I find that (especially for the people that just apply their gel on top of freshly conditioned hair) the cold water help to seal the cuticle from conditioning and helps to almost shock the hair like cool water on the face. It keeps my cuticle layer strong.
I hate cold water on my hair. Also next time try and add water to the deep conditioner. I notice when its a thicker consistency it feels like it sits on my head but water thins it out.
Yeah, I don't wash my hair in lukewarm or cold water either because as a low porosity girl, it just makes my hair really hard and doesn't allow for my fingers to run through my hair. I'm on the hunt for a shampoo that makes my scalp tingle and feel refreshed, any suggestions? 🥰

For me, the water temp depends on the product. I use to use warm water with As I Am cowash then I switched to The Mane Choice 3-in-1, which worked better with cold water. Now i use donna’s recipe & hot water works better 🤷🏽♀️
