I remember watching this particular scene on TV when I was a kid and got so impressed by DDL's acting, I even thought he was the real Christy! Definetely a big inspiration for me (along with Judy Garland as Dorothy) to become an actress.

Daniel Day Lewis is a magician that every time he gets a role, he literally transforms into the character. From his accent, to the facial expressions, to the emotions… The greatest ever.

This is one of those moments that even when you're rich and in a warm house it doesn't compare to that feeling of when you have absolutely nothing and you get a little bit of heat/food/money and you *feel* rich.

My favourite scene from this film is “You’re daughter’s getting married”. And this is my second favourite. Also Paddy Brown is my favourite character.
