When I realize I'm your age, it's amazing how little I've done in my life hahaha thank you for everything you do, and you have done so much for this community and for the world
It's cool that the transitional years are so concrete because they just managed to line up super well with school years. I really like this channel because it's mostly just "I talk about my life", which are some of my favorite types of videos.
WHAT I thought I was the only one who did this!! I often compare things that happen this year to what happened 5 years ago (A 5 year pattern instead of 4!), in a lot of the same ways, 2023 felt like 2018, and now 2024 feels like 2019, with both of those years being transitional moments of going to high school/college. It was really cool seeing your version of this, because I too have also realized a pattern!! Interesting stuff hey? Awesome vid Cary!!

What terrible crimes did you commit in 2015? And more importantly: Will you surpass them in 2025? :D
Absolutely amazing video! I loved it when you talked about the lessons you learned from your experiences, even though there were many things happening in your life you were still able to gain something important from them. Can't wait to see what the "Grand Finale" will be next year!
Cary. Your ideas never fail to intrigue me. I’m still young, and have a lot to learn. However, watching your videos gives me much insight on how it feels to grow up, even if it is just the small things. You’re a big inspiration to me, with all the amazing projects you’ve created. Honestly, sometimes I feel pretty inferior, as you’ve created such amazing things younger than I could’ve. Still, I know we all progress at our own pace, and I hope to put some cool stuff into the world.
Very sweet and thought out statement. Although I can tell that you are younger than me, admitting that you have a lot of time to get on your feet and learn the ways of life. I must say I agree with everything you’ve said in this very pleasing comment.
"I didn't ask for your life story" Probably some guy who accidentally clicked on this video. This is quite a nice explanation of what has happened. So many years explained in 18 minutes. Wow, this is great.
Honestly, I think this video is super inspiring. It’s so interesting to see that a pattern like this exists, but it also feels so validating to see that there is always something to look forward to and reflect back on when we grow and adapt in life.
Thanks for sharing Cary. This helped me with trying to figure out the future of my life after high school. Seeing a huge inspiration like you talk about this kind of stuff is always motivational. It helps me realize that stuff takes time and fresh starts are allowed happen. Can't wait to see your future endeavors!
Just being 1 year younger than you, I found this whole journey insanely relatable. For me, the transition years were your "cambrian explosion" years and it's crazy how similar our paths were in terms of going to school, and transitioning into adult life. MEGA interesting!!! I also like to categorize my life into eras. I think about all the things that inspired me and how I ended up the way I did. Super great video!
Genuinely very interesting and insightful video. People who pay attention to their livelihoods and take them seriously are the ones who can learn the most from them, and have a better future. Videos like these, just like anything you show or do, truly inspires me, and I appreciate the time you took to give us a better look on how you got here, to 2024. Thank you.
This sounds like cicadas that only come out every 17 years, like from 2007 to this current year, where everything from a smaller to a larger scale goes in cycles. Dunno, just seems cool regardless, haha.
This was a very interesting video! I kind of feel the same way except that I feel my life is moreso divided in chunks of 2, middle school, high, pandemic, 2 years of planning, and now at the center of another 2 year cycle in a different program, though I had never considered how creativity plays a part, I wonder if I would extrapolate any patterns similar. I really like how you broke down everything into a really neat infographic, -I might make something like that as a really interesting way to look back at ones own progress! I had never thought about mapping out my creative and personal ambitions in such a clear and concise way! I find it really interesting how you describe the moral of this story about how change motivates people most of all, its definitely a philosophy I live by, it gets me out of bed every day. Do you think that awareness of this cycle will change the trajectory?
I would have found this navel gazey from most people, but the way you approached this was so cool and provided fresh insight and new ideas to my own life, nice vid:D
This is honestly a really cool analysis on how people’s lives can go in repeating cycles without anyone realizing the pattern You seem to be very unstoppable when your motivation peaks and its really cool to see just how far your passion will take you when you get that spark :] But don’t be afraid to also find a way to break out of the cycle if it starts to feel like its got you trapped, its comforting to know whats next sometimes but uniformity can also feel confiding at times
For me life goes in 3 years cycles. It doesn't go in solar years (2022, 2023...) but more like in personal years (17, 18...). There's the stability, the poison, and the antidote
As someone who's been watching all of your content for as long as I can remember, it's interesting to see the history of everything you've made. Thanks for all the videos over the years, I don't think I'd be who I am today without them.
I discovered carykh from the "Computer Replicates my Voice" video. I had never heard of or seen any of the content you created prior to the release of that video. It just scratched that itch so well that we ended up staying around.
honestly this happens to me a LOT in smaller time periods, i know it probably happens to many others too, like hyperfixations maybe? also, maybe you could try and keep track of how these actually happen and how they affect you, it could help you sort of refine how you should handle your mental state
And then after you’ve down EWOW and IDFB in 2025-6, you’ll soon realise that you’ll have to keep up with this cycle… you wouldn’t want such a good pattern to end? The task would fill you up will dread for about a year until 2027, where you will find a new joy in life, realising that you don’t have to stick to such a cycle. For another year, you’ll continue thinking freely and learning new stuff to entertain yourself and keep your mind away from the break in the pattern, until a video in 2029 about your past 4 years will be released saying how you’re so excited to have done all this new stuff away from the cycle Then in 2030 you’ll realise… you’re still stuck in the loop
I can actually relate a lot to this. It’s like the first three months of the year or probably my most curious like I’m always trying to do new stuff. The next three are where I start to familiarize myself with what I have and then the three months after that I get locked in and try to put like my everything into whatever I create, and then I basically just crash and burn within the final months of the year
What's the music in the background from 14:39 to 17:00? I remember hearing it when I was much younger from crappy flash games and videos, but I can't think of the name.
i saw this and was thinking if i do the same thing, so i put my most iconic "cambrian explosion" year (2017) and lined up all the other years and realized that im following the exact same cycle, especially since 2024 landed to be a transition year (especially since i graduated high school and started college this year). pretty damn wild.
i have an different cycle. it seems like 3 years, something bad happened on christmas that stays in this depressive stage until early january 2017-2018: parents were starting their divorce 2020-2021: grandfather died, and we got covid 2023: cat died (this one actually didn't have any divorce/covid, so that's that. still miss him) on the other side, i seem to move homes/rooms every 2-3 years since 2017.
This video is really interesting, and it's a really interesting way to reflect on your life. Also wait what the hell you went to chile thats where i live
