God bless you Zoe. I can relate to everything you're saying. I moved abroad to work from the west to abroad for 3 years. The first year was a worldwind, the second was amazing and the third was when I fell into a deep depression. Looking back in hindsight I know now that the only thing that can really satistfy me and make me feel peace, purpose and comfort was giving my life to Jesus Christ and growing in Him and His community. I am not saying this to be annoying, but because my relationship with Him has given me hope and purpose that is greater than any destination. And has single handedly seen me through every low place, dark place, confusing and frustrating time and place. I also know I am not the only one. I am in Grenada now after trying to come for the past 3 years. I am here for a 3-4 eeek vacation and am asking Him to show me if this move us what He wants me to do. Thank you so much for sharing and all you are doing around this conversation. Your heart, intentions and sincerity are palpable. I am not sure of where you are on the spectrum of faith in Yashua (Jesus Christ) but just know if you don't already that He loves you. 🙏🏽🏝🇬🇩

Hello Zoe, my name is Percy, I’m a retired black American sailor, I live on my yacht in Woburn bay. Your conversation on community is spot on. I’ve found this unbelievable community and lifestyle. I would enjoy introducing you to the Cruising community. From the day I sailed into Grenada, I’ve found it impossible to leave, I love Grenada.

Hey Percy, I'd LOVE to speak with you. The sailing community here in Grenada is such a vibe, I've always wondered why more black folks don't consider this as an option. The kids and I are always at Le Phare Bleu marina and we've come across so many folks who've just packed up everything in the US/Canada and have chosen a life on the sea. It sounds so appealing! Do let me know if you're open to sharing your experiences... Perhaps we could record somethinge via Zoom or maybe even at Whisper Cove/Clarke's Court Bay marina if that works for you

@@ExodusCollective My God, where do I even start? LOL I've never cried uncontrollably leaving a location before, but I felt like I was leaving a piece of myself in Haiti when I left. As a Spiritually sensitive person, my soul needed Haiti... and I never even knew it. The mountains, the spiritual baths I got under a waterfall, the food, the people... I'd argue anyone down with regards to the fact that Haitian people are the hardest working people! The people affected me the most. The US experience can be one of individuality and isolation. An 'every man for himself' kind of energy and Haiti felt void of that. You can feel alone in a room of 300 in America. I felt apart of a collective in Haiti. We ate together, traveled daily as a group, shared beds when necessary...I don't know. The things that I thought I'd hate ended up being the experiences I didn't even know I was missing. It's unfortunate that this wonderful place has this stigma... I'll be going back in December. 🙏🏽

Hey Zoe! Great video! I appreciate the fact that you paint a very candid picture of your transition here to Grenada. It can definitely be very challenging at times but once you find your groove you will grow to love the simplicity of life you can find here in Grenada. It's been 26 years for me and I can honestly say with no regrets. I have also raised my 3 children here and the two oldest who are now back in Canada greatly appreciate growing up here. Wishing you much joy and happiness as you settle into life here. Maybe we'll cross paths soon- we know that's not difficult on this little rock! 😉

Hi Zoe, nice to see you back. Its so true that everything is not a bed of roses. The word that comes to mind is "Adapting". But that takes time. You have to block off the negativity from some people, as they don't speak for the whole population. I know that can be frustrating as if being born abroad to Grenadians is a crime. We are all human beings, and some people forget that our parents values were passed on to us. Their values don't change just because they went abroad. The sad thing is its simple to just say, all these people are bad etc etc. When its not. At the end of the day there are good and bad all over the world. All everyone wants to do is live in peace and harmony. As you would say, its a process.
@ExodusCollective

The number one thing for me is safety. I'm a Black American, and I can't tell you how exhausting it is to live in a place that is so unrelentingly violent toward your people. Add the dizzying amount of gun violence and you've got a very unsafe situation for Black folks. I can put up with shit weather, high taxes, etc but I can't put up with feeling like a second class citizen any longer.
@ExodusCollective

I feel you on that one. There's definitely an indescribable lightness that comes with being here in Grenada so far from the BS in a safe environment. It's such a pleasure to see my children have this as their norm instead of hypervigilance. I wish you well on your journey!

Grenada is a country that is on my list to live. It seems serene (considering that I'm an introvert like you as well 😄). One of my concerns is finding a location that has yearly temperatures that isn't above 80 degrees. Are there locations like that in Grenada to live?

The higher up you go, the cooler it'll be so looking at properties on the hills of Grenada's many mountains might be the route to go down.

Hi Zoe, my parents are from Carriacou but I was born in the UK and spent my early years in Carriacou. I have been in Carriacou since 2019. Now that lockdown over, I visit mainland Grenada as often as I can. Love your blog. Who does your hair? Love the cut, do you do it yourself? Hi Zoe, I am an admirer of your RU-vid posts re: transplanting oneself to the Caribbean. I find myself gravitating to your channel here for several reasons... imo topics of discussion taught by a very hot, cool chick with a sexy yet classy style always works best for me thankfully you exist . i have become fond of your uniqueness to discuss insight a 360° view at what your talking about calculating and documenting your own personal experience . radical much aloha , your likeable and relatable . you have and know what it takes with problem solving complexities to reiterate a mass amount dynamics involved to make such a move possible demonstrated quite well drafting out your own blueprints, what it's like to up and move elsewhere something easily revelled in common conversations yet seldom actually attempted these days maholos, you radiate much aloha it's easy to relate your likeable ....I have been planning and preparing for years my own uniqually personal dream all the homework researching the archipelago of the Caribbean islands and the best one for my background and lifestyle, hopefully I can become your islandly neighbor mate next door having my sights on Barbados your way ahead of me. you have a gift to transcend info that I relate with very similar of that of my own . you have beauty that illuminates a peaceful tranquil vibe , I love how your constantly smiling, no worries ... not stressing nor trying to sell something, ... no bs...cool it'll always workout fine . when determination is applied along side by a realistic approach yields better probability of chances for success I started laughing to myself when your little girl was infront of you on that trail with her pink rubber duckie all inflated heading through the creek , thats exactly what I was thinking to myself how funny it looked in that moment and then heard you say the same thing. I'm a retired beach boy in my mid 40s' ex professional surfer living in so cal looking for a place with better views tropical climate I see eye 2 eye with you I feel like a beautiful black girl trapped inside a vanilla male surfer... anyway whatever so happy for you and your family becoming situated comfortably . excellent info you kindly share for all of the RU-vidrs out there with similar interests to locate a place fit for who we are what we want what we look for as your doing youve embarked documenting your venture and pulling it off . your persevering strength is contagious. 20th century modern times Exodus. relocating anywhere , even close by is never easy and is way more easily conducted within the safety of the serwbellam of the brain than to actually to attempt to do and may require multiple launches if even then luck to make it a reality and more mental when it's transcontinental overseas abroad to the Grenades
