I bought a white 2012 double cab with 237k miles for 14500 drive out. Motor is perfectly clean and doesn’t burn oil. Very clean and nearly perfect for this high mileage specimen. I wouldn’t consider one under 100k as high mileage.

Sounds like you found a good one.. i agree about the mileage.. i’ve been seeing Tundras on craigslist and marketplace lately with 350-450K miles.. and they all say the same thing.. “runs great, never had any issues”.. Toyotas are the best!! 👍🏼

I bought my 2008 SR5 like yours 4 yrs ago with 82k miles. It was a 1-owner who put a topper and bedrug on it. It ran like new. It now has 150k on it and I really wanted a new one but could not justify sinking that kind of money into a truck that is going to get dirt and mud all over it. I loved the rear sliding, reclining seats which were replaced by the flip-up seats in the 2014+ models. I also got tired of Toyota delaying the new Tundra and when it does finally arrive, dealers will likely have huge markups so I just picked up a 2010 Limited with 50k on it with spray in bed and topper. Again, it also runs like new.

Very nice looking truck!! I just picked up a 2013. I was looking to install a TRD front sway bar like yourself. Would you happen to have the part number? I called my local Toyota dealership, and the TRD Sway Bars that they have now only fit for the 3rd gen Tundras. Any help would be great.
@toyotafanatics1
@toyotafanatics1 4 года назад
Although the 2014-2020 are considered the “3rd gen”, the only differences are on the interior and exterior and purely cosmetic.. The drivetrain is EXACTLY the same.. With that said the front TRD sway bar fits the 2007-2020 model. The part number is PTR62-0C180, the TRD front sway bar weights 13 lbs more than the factory one and is a great upgrade. You can find them on ebay right now for about $183.. It’s an easy install and not to mention looks great, definitely order one up.. 👍🏼

@MrFotnot2001
@MrFotnot2001 4 года назад
So I personally feel like the hooptie term is being used improperly here since you have a vehicle that appears to run normal, looks to be in very good shape, and isn't mistreated. Yes, there are a couple marks that show the signs of what I consider "wear and tear". The mileage isn't bad considering the year. I have a 2017 5.7L now with 52k and am putting on my lift in the next month. I had a 2011 that I traded in leveled with 33s that had 100k miles and got 19k for it. Since both of my tundras were crewmaxes, I feel they messed up getting rid of the rear seats sliding/reclining function since I used that space to put a small toolbox in, as well as other items. Now longevity, they'll last quite a while under normal maintenance. I bought my 2017 4wd with intentions of keeping it a while. Now lifting it will cause premature wear on those components(some lifts cause a lot more depending on brand), but I'm prepared to deal with that as time comes. Mileage doesn't scare me in this truck as it would in most of the "big 3" vehicles. I also personally think its foolish to constantly trading in/selling vehicles from a financial standpoint (hence why I bought a tundra). But the truck looks very good, especially for the age, and think it'd be a wise decision to keep it for a bit. Good luck with it and keep it up!

Shoooooot, my 07 TOYOTA TUNDRA SR5 TRD OFF ROAD 4.7L V8 has 281,738 miles on it and I'm still on the same motor and trany. I've had to do a few minor repairs and maybe 2 repairs where I took it to the shop. Water pump and went ahead an had them replace the timing belt as well sense I had the motor already cracked open and the other was the u-joint/rear differential. Buttt nothing super serious like a new trany or a motor swap.

That is a great looking truck, and I'm sure it will hold its value. As for the mileage, I really can't see it being a problem with regular services. As it stands I have a 2007 Tundra SR5 with the 4.7 V8. I was kind of bummed at the time that it wasn't the 5.7. After the test drive however, I could tell there was plenty of power, and the engine ran very strong. Long story short, it had 75,000 miles on it at the time of purchase, and now has almost 200,000. It still runs and drives as it did the day I purchased it, and I couldn't be happier with it. Also, I have found videos on RU-vid of 3 different Tundras, all of which have the same 4.7 engine, making the million mile mark. That being said, Toyota makes amazing vehicles.

The 4.7 is a fantastic motor with plenty of power.. im tellin ya, if you had the 5.7 you would cringe every time you pulled into the gas station.. the 4.7 is a million mile motor for sure!

I love the look of this generation I personally don’t like the new generation tundras at all. This generation I really like just hesitant as I have had three tacomas one brand new and 2 I bought used that all had issues. I however had a 05’ Silverado HD that I sold running flawless with 256k miles, a 08’ GMC Duramax I just sold running flawless with 242k miles and drove my father in laws 03’ Silverado just yesterday although it’s sketch he drives it down to Mex every weekend and it has 456k mile on the clock . I have had great luck with the GM HD trucks gas and diesel but my next one will be a 07’-13 Tundra just cause I like how they look and hopefully it’s problem free and I can experience the Toyota reliability I also has a 13’ Prius as a commuter it only lasted 4 years before it blew up. 3 months after I paid it off. So I try with Toyota it just hasn’t worked out. I do the maintenance as I drive 220mi round trip daily but they really haven’t held up for me yet.

You probably should keep it as long as you can. You are going to loose most, if not all the money you put in the upgrades, especially if you trade it in to the dealership. Been there, done that, got the Tshirt. Besides it is a very good looking truck and it's a Toyota - not that many miles for a Toyota! I bought a 2019 TRD Pro with 48,000 miles and it runs like a deer. Hard to beat the Toyota reliability.

But for now, i’ll just be happy it’s paid off and enjoy the truck for a bit longer..
