I love the Mrs. Odets character. I remember another episode where she was driving a "souped-up" Jaguar!😃

Charles Farrell was a matinee idol when he was younger. Janet Gaynor was his leading lady for Fox pictures.

Mrs. Odetts was just too cute. Loved her philanthropic wackiness.

I remember watching this on re-runs, in the late 1950’s. I remember when the intro would go close up to the picture frame and Margie would talk about her father and then vice versa. What well written scripts! Life was much better in those days before computers. I wish there was a time machine!

I thought the talking photograph on the tabletop was part of the introduction. Thanks for confirming!

Love Mrs. Odets!!!!!!!!!!! And those were the days when sitcoms had memorable complete theme songs, with credits you could actually watch and read. Miss those days!!!!!

I’ve heard stories about old days when young people used to use “modern talk”. Thank heavens we don’t have trouble like that any more.

I recall this being rerun on local TV here in NYC I think on ch 5 in the early 60s. I've never seen it in syndication since. CF was big box office back in the day. Handsome.

I was excited to find a new (to me) series, but 2 episodes in, and they write the daughter to be willing achieve her ends at the expense of her father. I know it's a sitcom, but this is crazy. Hopefully it will improve.

Instead of Father Knows Best, think of this as Daughter Thinks She Knows Best.

@@howardkerr8174 ~ 😄...I had issues with Father Knows Best as well...the parents seemed to pull from a mixed bag of values when it came to helping to shape the children's developing characters and attitudes.... (I might have 🤏, neurotic aversion and real world reaction to obnoxious/nonsensical writing on shows. I just feel everything. When I was little, I'd have an upset stomach when the kids in a show were about to get found out about something. "Locked Up Abroad" makes my heart rate increase, and I pause multiple times per episode, anxious about the impending doom of the future prisoner. And books?....Oh, my....)

It might be hard to believe but people felt safe in their homes and would even leave the doors unlocked when they went out.
