ABOUT TABITHA: A young, inquisitive female witch who enjoys leading a normal mortal life is the central character of this romantic fantasy series. Tabitha is the story of the bewitching Samantha's daughter, who has grown up. It's 1977 and Tabitha (Lisa Hartman), 22, is lovely, high-spirited and works as a TV production assistant. Tabitha's brother Adam (David Ankrum), the TV station's assistant manager, who is a mere mortal and constantly afraid the world will find out his sister is a witch, urges her to put away her witchy ways and live a normal life. But Tabitha's eccentric Aunt Minerva (Karen Morrow), an attractive witch in her mid 30s, takes her duty as Tabitha's guardian seriously, and encourages Tabitha to use her gifts for fun and profit, much to Adam's chagrin. Robert Urich and Barry Van Dyke co-star.

i always thought a better format for this would have been that Tabitha's witchcraft was wonky and yet she would persist in trying to use it to try and take the easy road, and her brother Adam, who was a full warlock but had embraced his father's ideals would have to show up and bail her out. Adam's wife was Tabitha's best friend, and though mortal, knew all about witches and warlocks.

My question is about Tabitha's supposed age. This series was in the late 70s. Tabiitha was born on Bewitched in the mid 1960s. Yet in this show she is out of college and working putting her at the age of 22-24 - about 7 or 8 years too old because at max 15 years have gone by since she was born on Bewitched. So not only is she magically she obviously had to age much faster than normal and be incredibly smart to skip about 5 grades in school to be working already and on her own, not with her parents. The timing of this show makes no sense!

My biggest thought regarding the age thing. They could've used Erin to continue the role and see her adventures through her teenage years. That would've been entertaining to see teenage Tabitha navigate through middle/high school.

Others have commented on the inconsistencies with the original Bewitched. Another is the Aunt Minerva character. I remember Samantha having cousin Serena (both played by Elizabeth Montgomery) but not a sister. Unless, she's supposed to be Endora's sister, then she would be Tabitha's great aunt.

There wasn't exactly much selection. Big networks were ABC, NBC and CBS, PBS was around, and maybe 2-4 smaller stations on UHF in the Philadelphia area. You usually only got original content on ABC, NBC, CBS and PBS. If you had cable you might have had an extra 4-6 channels. Bucks County (PA) cable meant you got NY versions of mostly the same networks (sometimes just time shifted by a few moments), so it was essentially the same content with different commercials.

You know that's something they could actually bring back they could bring back Tabitha but now she's a mom with kids and her brother Adam is already a granddad I mean she should be but her kids just they just aren't interested in settling down and getting married where Adam's kids too much to his disappointment and dismay have chosen the way of their grandfather who is no longer among the living and have been living a normal life having no powers whatsoever.

In 2005 all 12 episodes were released on dvd. I might have to go on ebay to buy a copy so I can see the rest of the episodes....I have the complete series of Bewitched on dvd but never thought about buy Tabitha at the time.

Adam is changed here. In the original show Adam had warlock powers and was younger than Tabitha. He's the older mortal in this sequel.

Cute series, but I don't like how they made obvious changes: they aged Tabitha by about 15 years, Adam was now the older brother (aged about 25-30 years from the original series) without any magic. However, they did bring the Kravitzes and Samantha and Darrin back in a couple episodes - but the Samantha/Darrin episode showcased their 25th wedding anniversary, when they were only married 15-20 years

What a dark story. Truly terrifying. Tabitha banishes her parents and then hexes her brother so that he's powerless. Then she casts a spell to make them both older, all so that she could play "Witch & Mortal" like mommy and daddy. Truly, Tabitha is the most depraved creature to ever walk the Bewitched Universe.

Wrong. He did have powers, except you wouldn't use in that first because his father disapproved. Once Darren gave him permission he used them. You need to watch a little bit further into the series beyond that episode with his grandfather.

I remember this show but like others mentioned I was confused about the ages and Adam being older and Aunt Minerva. I read not long ago they have talked about rebooting Bewitched with the real Tabitha (Erin Murphy) having a daughter with magical powers. The problem with that is that most of the cast is gone except Tabitha and probably Adam.
