Man, i tried this game out yesterday, and I am in LOVE! Such a splendid job on making the game, and it's inspiring me to make own on GM 8 Pro, too! The epic selection of game tracks, the simple but VERY necessary graphics (Otherwise, it'd be a lot harder to spot which bullet is which.), and slowly growing difficulty is phenomenal! Keep up the fantastic work!
The key is basically to fully chain stage 4. If you do that and get 10,000 point items, you'll be getting TEN MILLION points after every boss phase. Another trick is to not make use of autobombs, since autobombs will destroy your point item count, whereas manual bombs won't.
But in all seriousness though that is a shitton of popcorn. I'm just a bit worried there might not be enough balance between popcorn, medium and giant enemies.
Oh lol I got an Omote 2-ALL the first time playing it. :V Although I used Fluttershy so I don't really know if she breaks the game or not. Was about to try Rainbow but I noticed she can't move diagonally right-down when using the laser and that's a pretty glaring issue. Using enter to use menu's is weird.
I actually decided to look at the Yoyogames website and have a look at any possible (in)compatibilities, and the very first line of their Mac page says that it's version 7.0, whereas I made this with version 8.1. So, no dice, I'm afraid.
Never mind, I apologize. According to the description of the game, Angra Mainyu has taken over the minds of Dash and Fluttershy's friends (which is what I expected) and now they are piloting Equestrian-Class Battleships. Although I could probably make better military vehicle designs than these.
I have only played one game like this before, and, from what I've heard, is easy compared to most games in this genre. And yet, I will play this anyways. Challenge has been accepted.
The gameplay is extremely solid and well done, however the design of some of the enemies and bosses could use some more polish. The only other thing that needs to be added are monocles for the parasprites.
This shit happens when I don't test with the keyboard at all. MY BAD. Just uploaded a version where the RD controls actually work, and other tweaks (such as Z working for menus as well). Also have fixed the issue where Continuing doubles your firepower, and the Escape quitting the whole game thing. I have no idea why I never thought to try a run with the keyboard. I feel dumb now. >_>
When you say "instant play," I assume you're referring to the Yoyogames website's built-in "play via the browser" thing. I can't enable it because the game comes in a zip with several files, one of which is an extension package; furthermore the game uses file writing features (to save high scores and stage select progress), so in-browser playing could not possibly function. Sorry about that.
Ello! I was wondering, I love this game, always played it on Windows 7, but that computer had gotten old and broke, so I upgraded to Windows 8, however, this game just doesn't seem to work on Windows 8 for some reason, it always ends up crashing when there is an explosion on screen (like a boss explosion)- what are the requirements for this game? Or is there a fix I can do? I've been aching to play this game again.
With the way the combo system works (what with having to KILL an enemy to keep a chain going, rather than just keep shooting them) I had to be careful with the way I used bigger enemies. Whenever I used one that takes longer than a second to kill, I needed to provide popcorn enemies for you to kill WHILE killing the bigger enemies so that chain wouldn't get necessarily broken. I could have made other ways to stall combos, but that would, like, involve work, man. :V
I get the thing about autobombs. My counterpoint is that your score gets punished pretty heavily if you use it, whereas your score barely suffers whatsoever when you use a manual bomb. So, it's already kind of an "option," in the sense that using a manual bomb to get out a situation is overall a way better idea than letting autobombs do it. One of my other games, Trigonometry Wars 4, doesn't use autobombs, and it's in my opinion a much more well-polished game. Check that out if you want. :V
Windows 8 has an issue with applications that use DirectSound that makes it crash whenever three of the same sound effect play at the same time. There is no cure except to play on something other than Windows 8. Which, I agree, is bogus and dumb.
Let them have their Touhou comments. I think any self-respecting doujin shmup developer should dream of getting false Touhou comparisons. It's like a rite of passage. :V
A bunch of stupid bullshit has happened in the intervening time. There's been like four bugfix releases, including but not limited to fixing that. Also, boss practice has been added.
Bullet Hell games are challenging, but not as impossible as they first appear just by casually observing them. The hitbox is very small, so the player can often weave through shot patterns that appear too dense to avoid. Keep practicing and you'll get even better at it.
Actually this game is pretty damn good!! I actually like it, when you start off on it it's kinda hard to take it seriously until you play the damn thing! They're been quite alot of good Pony-like games coming out these couple of years. We've had this game, a Mega Man spinoff, a Wolfenstein 3D game and lastly a Castlevania-Ponyvania clone. And all these games have been great! My Little Pegasus: Kizuna DoPonyPachi, needs an update or a sequel to run off never operating systems and I think we all still morn the loss of YOYO games?!! Well I still do!!! What a waste!!!....

...? It's not related to Touhou at all (aside from them both being shmups). It's a MLP-themed parody/fangame with elements from Ketsui and DodonPachi (they're both referenced in the title, scoring system is much like Ketsui's, etc).
Wow, the entire screen is Angra Mainyu? I guess that means he's pure darkness. The only thing that's bothering me is that your Bullet Hell shooters never seem to have a storyline, I think. That's okay with most of them, but can you explain THIS? RD and Flutters shooting down their friends AND the princesses JUST to reach and destroy a being of pure evil? There's gotta be an explanation for this. (if this is explained somewhere, then I sincerely apologize)

GO AHEAD WITH THE BLUNT CRITICISM. I can't promise I'll ever address it (depending on what it's regarding), but you can make it. If it's about the graphics, I already know they're terrible. I'd need to get someone else who's actually competent at spriting and such if I wanted to really do something about it. :V
