I have a real love for strategy guides but sadly they are mostly a thing of the past. I just wanted to show off some of my collection. Hope you enjoy #strategyguides #gamingguides #pokemon
Really well put together vid; thoroughly enjoyed it. Coincidentally I picked up baldurs gate for the Switch recently and was thinking of getting a guide. Was a bit put off by the value 😳; sounds like one to avoid based on the format you described lol. Surely those early Pokémon guides will become even more desirable than the games at some point. Great stuff 👌
Thank you very much Ed, I did take more time to complete this video but I do enjoy being creative. Baldur’s Gate is amazing! I don’t like the fiddly nature of playing with a controller but still I hope you enjoy it. Baldur’s Gate 2 is even better btw. Yeah it was a very odd way to go in terms of a strategy guide, sounds good in principle but you just want an answer. Oh yeah the value will keep going up………hopefully 😂 Thanks for watching Ed
Great video Griffo, i've still got a few of my guides from back in the day like Dino Crisis which had a special sealed part inside with hidden extras lol
I have about 7 game guides all together...they're great, I agree with you and like the idea of playing through a game with a guide and leaving RU-vid behind for tips etc. Thanks for sharing, super jealous of your Pokémon guides. I have a couple of later ones but Pokémon red guide looks great 👍
Exactly yeah, it just seems more natural in book form. I got a lot of my Pokemon guides from Music Magpie believe it or not. A few years ago they sold them for £5 each and offered free delivery 👍 Thanks for watching mate and what guides do you have? Any collectors editions?
@@GriffosRetroGaming I have a star wars battlefront (newer version) collectors edition, the fallout 4 vault dweller collectors edition which I think you showed and I have a fable anniversary collectors edition which is my favourite...has gold ended pages which look great as the book is closed. Last year I used it to complete the game with 1000g. I have Pokémon sun and moon and a Pokémon omega ruby alpha sapphire Pokédex guide and I think that's it
i would absolutely love to have the Might and Magic 6 guide. that game is very special to me.i spent such a monstrous amount of time on it and never finished it back in the 90s.
Wow, I’ve never had someone say they love Might and Magic as much as me. I still play them now but on my Mac so it’s not overly stable. They are available on GOG.com for a couple of quid. My favourite was 7 but I loved that card game they introduced to it 😂 Yeah sadly they’re on the pricey side and usually only in the US so the shipping adds 15-20 quid to the price. I got them for 1 cent each and like £6 delivery from USA but that was in 2010/11
@@GriffosRetroGaming I came back to the video to say I just got my copy of M&M VI Strategy Guide today in the mail. I got it on e-bay after commenting here. I couldn't help it after I saw I could have it for 10 bucks. I spent some time reading it and I don't regret it. Brought back a lot of memories and showed that I also don't remember a lot of it. I played for so long and through entire weekends and yet... I can't remember what seem to be basic things that the Guide talks about. I did enjoy how well it's written and that it talks about the earlier games before starting the current one. Anyway, I'm glad you did this video. Maybe I'll get the game on GOG some day. I still have the manual and the CD-Roms for it... oh and the cloth map too. That I will never get rid of.
Great vid there Alex buddy, love how you put that together 😄👊 id love a company to go a make hardback game guides for games like the wonderboy series, id be all over that. I've got the hyrule historia and a breath of the wild hardback guide and they are absolutely amazing. The artwork etc is quality
Thanks Steve it was a different style but I loved filming and editing it. So collectors editions for retro titles? You could be on to something there……..
