I am so excited to have coffee with you today. I turned 34 this past week and it was a really nice week. Many good things happened including my collaboration with Tay from ‪@MomontheSpectrum‬ . Also got some new plants and I my channel grew! Thanks everyone for their support.

Happy Birthday Claire! I think that every birthday is special. You only get one a year so I am glad to hear that you had a great day. I did a bunch of yard work this weekend. We also live rurally and have had some things that have been bothering me for years such as a messy, weedy area behind a building that was all burning nettle. Next up I need to move a bunch of baby raspberry plants that have spread into the lawn. Anytime that I can actually get something done that has been bothering me is a HUGE accomplishment. I feel like I have problems starting projects. They overwhelm me just thinking about the things that I would like to do, even if I really would love to do them. Does anyone else have that? Have a good week!

I get overwhelmed with things too! The yard here is very large - I am grateful for the space but it weighs on me to keep it tidy for sure

Birthdays are always weird for me. I hate being the center of attention. I feel very “noticed” which makes me super uncomfortable. It’s hard to blend into the background when everyone is singing Happy Birthday at you! 😱😱😱

I hate that too. I also don’t like opening gifts in front of people because you have to pretend to be excited about things that you are not excited about or that you ARE excited about but you are just not an excitable person.

Happy Birthday! I love that you named your cat Minerva. My oldest boy has a stuffed monkey that my husband named Dr Zaius after the minister of religion and science on "Planet of the Apes," so that he'd have an intellectual companion. When our second son was born, we got him a stuffed cat named Professor McGonagall for the same reason. 😊 My daughter has a stuffed owl named Archimedes.

I love how excited you get when you talk about your plants! Special interests are the best! Sounds like your birthday was great. Happy birthday! Also, amazing heron story! I have seen them hunt rodents in fields before. Birds are my special interest.... I could go on forever!

oooooh, plants!! a houseplant update would be a great video!!!! I'm plant obsessed!! I love alocasias and have 2 currently, an amazonica and Pink Dragon which are doing great. They need humidity, pro-tip!! (I'm not a pro lol). I have 67+ house plants so I'm sure we have some of the same :) Happy Belated Birthday!!!

@@WoodshedTheory Amazon has some for cheap, Levoit brand seems to be what planty people like, so I purchased a small one (less than $30) and keep all my humidity sensitive plants in one area. My Pink Dragon has only had 2 leaves foreverrrrr, but is finally putting out a new one. Must be happy!

@@stijn2472 Yes, I went overboard on plants for my small 1 bedroom apartment haha! So far I think my favorite plant is my Syngonium 'Coral Allusion". It's just so dang pretty...

Happy belated birthday! So happy you have lots more subscribers after the collaboration. I'm sure they're enjoying your channel like I do. I totally name things. I've done thar since I was a kid. I'd name things and put emotions onto inanimate things and living things like animals and plants. Your birthday weekend sounds nice and chill. Me and my family spent the week in the DC area. That was a first for me and my kids. It was fun. One of our favorite things (since moving to the south east), is finding a Buc-ees on our trips. When we got home, all sleep deprived in the late hours, we slept for a bit and jumped into getting a puppy. So more sleep deprivation because it's like having a new born baby, trying to night train him. But he is adorable. I'm more of a cat person but my husband is allergic. But my kids are so happy with the new addition. Bunnies and dogs. Hopefully one day chickens and doing bee keeping again. For date night we watched the new Love on the Spectrum. I had already watched your two reviews and the one Orion did. So I felt prepared. But I was highly uncomfortable with the first two episodes. I wasn't sure why, still trying to process it. I really cringed at the idea that in some way these individuals were being mocked and viewers will find them as a form or entertainment to poke fun of autism spectrum individuals. I really hope that's not the case.

I couldn't manage the first episode for much the same reason. I really don't like the whole "fly on the wall of real life" idea anyway. Have always thought it fake, scripted, and - in the case of LOTS and similar shows - seems to be more about entertaining the (largely NT) audience. Yes, this does spread awareness - but I'm not so sure about the acceptance bit when we (the audience) spend our time having our tropes fulfilled (with the - will s/he or won't s/he? and - aww, isn't it sweet that people like "them" can find each other?). There often seems to be a sense of "othering" about these shows. And are the participants being paid for their entertaining? Sorry, just my personal opinion on this and don't mean to make anyone else feel uncomfortable in their enjoyment of these shows. 😟

Claire I can’t believe I missed your birthday. Sending you belated birthday wishes! Sounds like you had a cool day. Would love a plant tour! I’m rubbish with plants so only have cacti (got 7 different varieties so far) I’ve managed to keep them all alive so far.

My neighborhood had an albino red-tailed hawk for a number of years. I named it Albi after the racist dragon. Great Blue Herons are particularly difficult to photograph. They know when you have the camera turned on and get the settings right and get it in focus... and then they vanish.

Whoops - Happy Birthday. Glad you had a nice one. Mine are also super low key (ie just another day). I've had a very busy (& dissociative) wk. Got a new (to me) car arriving today & a motorcycle-trike picked up last Fri, so a lot of new stuff & disruption. Going to have to look at your heron vid now.

I had Fredrick the frog in my backyard last summer. Haven’t seen him all winter, but haven’t been outside a lot either. Also HB just in case it’s bad juju not to wish some one a HB so late.
