the monitor will go black when you press record make sure you know that. like he said in the video it doesnt send a signal when recording

Just got a G7...i know the comment was 10 months ago but it may help someone...buy a cheap tablet and use that as a monitor...tablet mounts and sun shades for tablets on amazon...be blessed...Trill Never Die

I'm all for rigging out the Lumix cams. If you move up to the g85 (which u can get used for around $500) you'll get the ability to use the monitor while recording and in body image stabilization.

I love the tip about making the rig heavier to make the shots more steady. That is left off so many videos and such a great tip. Makes me think about rigging out my A6400 now.

My Lumix G7 is my fixed Webcam. I love it because it has a clean HDMI out and I have a continuous power supply for the battery compartment. It provides a professional-looking webcam option especially when coupled with a ring light.

Very cool. Using the same cage, no monitor with my Canon M50. Makes a huge difference for stabilization. You have inspired my with your positioning of the top handle and mic if I ever need it like that! Beyond that, I just enjoy your videos. I'll take more of that please.

Love my G7 first camera coming from a phone, got the small rig cage with it but want a monitor. Was out, the sun was bright and that screen makes it really hard to get the exposure right. I know that the screen cuts out for recording but I miss the wave form and false colour I used to get with filmic pro, makes a massive difference. I use the zebras and histogram but prefer those options.

One thing I hate about the G7 is the mini HDMI connector for monitors. I bought two that were gold plated and they both broke after gently pulling it out of the G7. So $60 & two $50 Uber’s later to go to Best Buy and back to an event. And the new cable broke...

This is exactly what I’ve been looking for. Got discouraged because I couldn’t find many videos. I like my G7 but I don’t like the auto focus when shooting a moving subject. it’s terrible 😭. I also wish we could record unlimited?

Hey Darious. Here's a tip for you: don't use Genius links to direct users to products. Anyone outside US/Canada gets redirected to German Amazon, which is a pain :)
