Just to give you a heads up, I know on your video you said you want a monitor, but the G7 Doesn't support Recording and sending signal to the Monitor, as soon as you hit record, the Monitor loses signal. You can use it to set up a shot before hand but that's about it.
Nice. I just got a rokinon 35mm and I wanted to add follow focus or focus pull. I think what turns the budget into 1k is either the lens, the body or both. All I need is the cage, and the rails for the follow focus.
@@EchoRhythmMusic when recording on the g7, it does not send output of what you see on the camera monitor to an external monitor, the external monitor just turns black. It only sends the output when you are not recording so you can still use it to frame your shots and use it for focus but as soon as you press the record button, your external monitor blacks out.
I cannot find the rig for the G7 the one you use doesn't show up on Amazon anymore or just doesn't exist? any help to where you found you smallrig rig for the Lumix G7
Should have mounted a phone to the top and used the Panasonic app to monitor video, the matte box won’t really do anything as you already had a lens hood and if you wanted to shoot wide open you would want as much light as possible to hit the sensor and the box would just block it, I would never buy one unless I was using it for filters
It’s a fine, cheap lens that’s super light and has pretty good image quality. It’s just really small and the focus ring doesn’t work great, so this rig would look quite ridiculous is size.
Lens is the Nikon 50mm 1.8! I actually have a video coming out about it on Sunday if you want to hear more. And nope, the cage is independent of the rail system.
