It's great to see these unique Marx trains shown in one place in your video. My wife had a Marx Red Commodore wind-up Passenger Train set. My first train was the Marx Electric Black Commodore Vanderbilt freight set.
Yes. These 1935 Marx trains came after Louis Marx purchased Joyline Trains in 1934 from Girard. Marx kept using some of the old tooling, however radically changed the designs. Marx used the Joyline couplers for 1935 only, then began using tab and slot couplers. New and improved motors were also introduced. A Marx Joyline coupler can be used with a tab and slot coupler, however are a bit of a pain to connect. Marx continued to produce trains from the Girard factory for 40 years.
