My method for setting up a zpacks plex solo or a zpacks duplex ✨ I love these tents!

I love pitching my tent perfectly so I thought I would make a quick video showing you my method! ✨ it’s not the fastest way but it always works for me and I’ve never had my walls fall down or stakes blow out even in heavy wind. If you’re on the fence about switching from a freestanding tent I highly recommend going for it! Using your trekking poles is super easy after your practice a few times!
This vid is not sponsored by zpacks but I do love them so maybe I’ll be sponsored by them one day 🥰

Did not address the guy lines NOT coming from the corner.

I do the exact same thing. Also important to face the windward side toward the wind. I see so many duplex tents faced the wrong way in windy conditions! It’s easy to tell because the corners with the Zpacks logo are the windward side. 😊 I also added some high quality Velcro to the door for added wind and storm protection, which is really helpful if it’s not stormy or windy to close the doors without having to mess with the toggle! Love your videos!!!

Oh geez!! I've never heard this by anyone, let alone teenagers, but did you just say "LOL?!" 🤯 Like it was a word and not L-O-L?! Yikes!!

"When you are the last Duplex standing" 😂. Obviously I did my research wrong, since I have only Tarptents 🤷🏽‍♀

A lot of times my tent initially ends up pitched too low in back. Loosening the guy lines and tightening the line to the peak, then re-snugging all the other guy lines, makes a vast difference very quickly. A slight forward tilt of the pole will open up ventilation in the back and make the whole tent sit better.

Hi Stella, thank you for the video! Do you have any advice for the ground cover that you are using under the tent?

Hi! I'm considering this tent and am wondering about the treking pole length. I use a women's pole that says it adjusts to 125cm. Zpacks said it wouldn't be long enough. But I don't want to add the weight of their pole or buy new trekking poles when I've already broke the bank for the tent. What's your experience? You said 125-130cm and your pitch looks great!

Hi! I think 125cm will work fine! It might be on the shorter side but honestly I pitch mine around that most of the time. Hope that helps!

Hi, great video. I am new at this, but so interested to learn. When you set up the tent, it looks like there is a space between the bottom of the tent and the ground. When you got into the tent, it looks like a mesh lining at the bottom. What happens if it rains hard, does the rain come in the sides? Been following your regular hiking videos and can not wait for your AT thru hike. Will be with all the way.

Hey Stella great video and editing! My wife shared you channel with me she told me that she messaged you that we are Trail angels and we provide Trail Magic on the Appalachian Trail around the 501 shelter. Also I have a channel and do Sunday night lives recently I had buddy from 592 movement who will be starting the Appalachian Trail in a few weeks with his wife and Amara Gardner 2021 thru hiker and we did an interview first ever person on the trail that we provided trail magic to. I said all of that too LOL see if you would like to be a guest on my Sunday Night Live to talk about your upcoming journey. And some of your past Journeys. And then hopefully the random Adventures 2.0 family of viewers can follow you along the trail and hopefully see you in Pennsylvania with a few vegan grilled cheese sandwiches 2.0 Style

When your post notification popped up I got so excited!!! Thanks for another great video. I'm so excited about your AT thru hike that when the first video is posted of your actual hike I may do a cartwheel and back flip....ok maybe just a happy dance to avoid the possibility of needing to call an ambulance 🤸‍♀️🚑😄 lol....but, yes, I'm that excited!!! Can't wait!!! #teamstella

Awe yay!! Thank you so much for your comment I was feeling a little insecure about this video because I haven’t made too many videos in this style and I have a lot of learning to do as I make more. So thanks again for being excited for me and the AT! Lol I’m excited to share and connect with more people like you on this trek 🥰

Nice pitch Stella. And I give you props on your new gear videos. You’ve got so much knowledge from the trail. Thanks for sharing. I’m a little short on confidence and finances so I hike with a Big Agnes Cooper Spur. Love this tent though.

Do you have to use Zpacks trekking pole or can you use the regular trekking poles?

In the wind, just how noisy is the tent, and if ground sheet is used, does it travel? Thanks and love your vids.
@StellaHikes

If it’s super windy the tent can be loud but staking it down properly and tight helps so much! And I haven’t experienced the ground sheet moving once it’s under the tent. Hope that helps!
