My niece Maya and I visited Minneapolis on our way to the Fargo Junk Market in Fargo, ND. Maya and I shopped some local Goodwill stores to see if I could find any treasures. Also we visited some amazing vintage and antique stores and scored some beautiful finds!
My name is Laura and I am a full time vintage shop owner and I've been self employed for 8 years selling my vintage finds online, in flea markets and local vintage malls. I love to resell 2nd hand and vintage items so they can live a second (or third or fourth) life!

Goodwills in the Twin Cities are not worth the effort of stopping. They used to be so much better for vintage, but have changed over the past 5 years or so. Other thrift stores in the area are much better! Currently watching this a second time to try to figure out which locations you were at, so I can go tomorrow and see if a few things I spied are still there 😃 Glad you were able to find a few goodies!

Next time you head to the midwest, check out Pella, Iowa.. a dutch community with awesome local thrift stores plus the Windmill antique store. That antique store is stacked and packed floor to ceiling with tons of cool items. I'm talking like hoarder level. Lots of mid century items too!

The ones I've been to in FL are not that cheap! But they do have good sales. My friend and I always hit up the charity shops--lots of old folks donating their stuff in Florida, lol! It's a good place to thrift coats and sweaters! This summer I got some furry hats at a Florida charity shop. I'll def need them in my state.

(as we sometimes like to say in Minnesota).😉 There’s so many great places to check out. Glad you found some treasures in our neck of the woods. The brown bag is a vintage Court in British Tan. The black one was a Coach Willis (my favorite). Get a replacement Turnlock closure from Etsy. Use Lexol leather cleaner and a good conditioner like Bick 4. It will look beautiful once you are done.

Yes! They were two different models. The handles are different. I have the black Willis, bought new around 1997. The only thing I don't like about it is how heavy it is, even with nothing in it.

The Purple Trumpet Vase that you looked at the first Goodwill was definitely worth picking up. It has a value of $35 - $45.00. I haven’t seen them even in the thrift stores priced less then $9 - $10 dollars.

Back in the 80's I was selling my pickings at Hopkins Antiques and Antiques Minnesota on Lake Street in Minneapolis before Goodwill became so big, in St. Paul and elsewhere. Your video brought back great memories. Then I found dreamcatchers and dreamcatchers found me--I sold across the USA, online, in Europe, taught dreamcatcher-weaving and their wisdom-stories.

Crazy thing Laura. I live in Minneapolis and this past Monday I went to the first two Goodwills that you went to and you literally touched items that I was looking at and also passed up. A year ago, I was able to find several hundred items at these goodwills and had so much fun! When I went this past Monday, for the first time ever, I walked out without buying anything except for a frozen treat, Sponge Bob Square Pants, lol Did I mention how completely awesome it is knowing you visited our city?! I love your channel and I have been watching you for several months and I really enjoyed the trip you made up the coast and you were determined to fit as much as you possible could in your small vehicle! 😊

Unique thrift stores are owned by the same company as Value Village and Savers.

There used to be stores called Valu Thrift in Minnesota that were under that same parent company. The only thrift stores called Value Village are Arc's Value Village and they're not affiliated with those others. Their money is used to bring awareness to, and help fund a non profit organization that helps people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
