Love this minimal rig - more often than not the answer is to strip things down and just nail the fundamentals, which you do time and time again. It's so easy to get bogged down and stressed out over gear you don't need and I found it super interesting to hear you almost never use an external monitor. But hey if you aren't using it, get rid of the dead weight!
Do you know by any chances, where I could buy the top handle (smallrig 2000)? Because it's discontinued everywhere. Or perhaps there is an alternative? I'd like to keep using the viewfinder but I also hate the Blackmagic Top handle

I basically use mine the exact same way. I find when I strip it back to this set up I operate better and am more in tune with the actors. There's something about having a big rig that makes me feel restricted and less spontaneous - almost as if I'm worried that I'm going to bump into something.
Hi! What do you suggest for storage? CFAST options are limited and very expensive. I was thinking the type-c option using SanDisk pro extreme 2000 mb/s ?
I've seen your follow focus on the right side of your camera very often (in previous videos and some of the b-roll of this video) and as a stubborn right handed person, I can't wrap my head around that 😓 which leaves me wondering: are you left handed or ambidextrous or if you have different reasons for having it on either side?
Perfect minimal rig! Do you think I can use the EasyRig Minimax with a similar setup or it's a bit too heavy? It can take up to 15 lbs so I'm questioning if it can be enough or if I should invest in the VARIO
@@matteobertoli oh ok! It looked like another model that's why I asked. Well, you inspired me to get one along with the new 6K FF. Thanks for the great content :)
Hey Matteo, I was just wondering, what media do you use to record? I’m looking into getting into the blackmagic ursa system but I don’t really see many people give a clear cut answer on what memory solution they prefer to record to
CFast 2.0 cards. Sandisk or Angelbird for me on the Ursa G2. SSD is cheaper, but too cumbersome to deal with, I don't like that a cable nudge is all it takes to screw the recording. I have a handful of Silicon Power CFast 2.0 also, cheaper, but I still trust the Sandisk and Angelbird over the others.
Nice video as always, thanks for sharing. Side question. The new Apple vision pro product. How do you feel about editing video with a device like that. The ability to make your screen as big as you want and have others screens beside it floating in vr/ar. It’s a pricey niche peice of tech though.
To keep the URSA 12K even lighter, have you tried wearing the v-mount battery on your belt with a belt clip and then use a d-tap to 4-pin xlr to power the camera?
