You should really have Danny teach you to weld. Its a skill that will serve you well on any project as a DIY person. Plus if you shoot some vids people can learn along with you. If people will watch you pick up a chicken they will definetely watch you learn to weld! With your enthusiasm you make everything fun.

My dear Faye, Yes, I enjoyed your video. I am a tech head and I do enjoy the technical points you make but I also adore you as the star of the video. So I feel your pain too. I am so so so sorry they took 6wks of your time and probably another 6wks more work to correct everyting. When they said they'd rip up the check, that was your reality check. The money was all that mattered to them. Communication may have been at fault, however; don't they know who you are? I'm more than certain you explained the circumstances, but that phrase was what they were all about. "Make The Sale" we'll take care of the fallout later. Ouch! Please try to stay positive and keep on it. I want to see the whole system work and the numbers and of course the final results. Always yours. ben/ michigan

I feel your pain .I went to Harbor freight and bought one of their powder coating kits . I practice on several scrap pieces and found that if yow preheated the material first and make sure it’s thoroughly cleaned. It works really well. I had my wheels refurbished on my Volvo V 70 R got them back $500 later and it was horrible and gave me the same excuse we put the new guy on them. 😮

Delivered severely late with it being a half-assed job; there's absolutely no excuse for that. I would've been livid. You are very professional and showed an incredible amount of restraint describing how upset you are with the issue. It's unfortunate, but I wish there was a way for other people to know about how this outfit conducts their business. So sorry you had to go through all that, though it sounds as if you have a good plan. Looking forward to the next installment!

Thank you. I did tell my local friends so they wouldn't go there. It just doesn't make sense to blast them on an international platform when only a few local people would ever potentially go there. But that being said, be cautious in New Braunfels, TX! And I just think it's very un-classy to sh!t talk on the internet. The story had to be told, because it really does happen to everyone, but they don't need to be slaughtered, I don't think.

Hey Faye Hadley I understand being ticked off at a powder coater! I had this happened to me 25yrs ago. But you can over come this! I had a friend wet sand everything up to 1500 sandpaper! You can smooth it and get out those nubs. If not sand blast it off and do it again. There is a company in Texas called dustless blasting can get everything clean and not damage the parts. But try sanding it first 😊

I got screwed on upholstery, so I know what it's like to be disappointed after along wait. And it really is the most difficult thing to strip off. I use rolloc disks and then sandblast it, but that scratches the hell out of everything and then good luck getting all the grit out. At least you found a creative solution! Keep up the great work!

OMG... You got absolutely ripped off by that powder coating shop. $500, over a month, and that's the quality you got? I would be furious. I can literally do better than that in my garage. I used to work in a powder coating factory. I'm so sorry. I can come up with multiple ways to hang that last part, but since I believe it takes crush washers, I would just tape over both sides, hammer lightly around the tape to cut it at the face edges, then poke a wire through the tape and hang it by the wire. This isn't complicated and missing plugs on those small bolt holes is also unacceptable. Anyways, excited for more 7M episodes as always!
@FayeHadley

Fuel pulsation damper dampens the fuel pressure oscillations caused by the injectors opening and closing on a long fuel rail, not the the fuel pump, you can check this out for yourself once your up and running by blanking the damper port and logging fuel pressure, then connecting the damper back up, at certain rpms you’ll get resonance inside the rail, which is what drive the oscillations. As a side not, having rubber fuel lines on the pressure side does wonders for damping the oscillations as the entire fuel line acts as an accumulator (which is what the damper is). Happy building!

Damn, I was scratching my head over the behavior of that shop, which aside from being insulting, simply didn't make sense. Perhaps it is as simple as their service being very basic coating of stuff that won't be seen, thus no great skill is required, but not mentioning it at the outset brings me back to illogical, or if you will, stupid. Let's give them an ounce of credit for not insisting that there's something wrong with you, which you have done by not naming them. That's very gracious of you. I'm so sorry for the disappointment this has been for you.

It was a total bummer. They did try to give a bunch ir excuses as to why it wasn't perfect, none of which was their fault. Whatever. I'm trying to get past it.

Amazing 20 years ago my son came back from Secondary School with similar. It did actually provide protection for six or seven years, pealed and blistered and the metal underneath rotted. Long story, life does get in the way. IMO, in one sample, powder coating masks rust, ten ~ twenty years, it's dust. So imo. he's telling you this produce is shit.

Faye, your professionalism has always been very apparent, but you just stepped up another level by not mentioning this so called powder coater by name. I felt your heartbreak and disappointment. I like how you started thinking of other options immediately. Please keep up the great work and so looking forward to seeing this engine run on the dyno and then put in your car!

Thank you, Johnny. I really didn't think it would do any good to put them on blast - they are a local shop, and so many of my viewers would never go there just because they are not local so it doesn't make sense to trash talk them, just like the machine shop that messed up my cylinder head, and the painter who got overspray all over the interior of my car. These are all lessons learned and I have become a more well-rounded and capable technician thanks to their mistakes. I found Danny and Rick and have trained under them because other people messed up. They are hidden blessings! And who knows - maybe I will fall in love with powder coating! :))

@@FayeHadley Danny and Rick are great people, I love to watch Danny's live stream when I can. I was fortunate to find someone like them 17 years ago when my DJ/Production business slowed down and i had to find a "real job". I became a locksmith and little did I know what t he owners of the business were training me for at the time. I bought the business from them 7 years ago when they were ready to retire and thankful for the lessons they taught me, I still talk to them every couple of weeks and if I have big decisions to make I ask for their guidance and welcome the input. Keep doing what you are doing and I always look forward to your next video.

Not professional. Even looked bad in the video. There’s no excuses. They didn’t prep the parts correctly, did not apply the power evenly, and no one seemed to inspect the parts after they pulled it out of the oven. Even if they put “the new guy” on the job, someone should have been supervising “the new guy” through the entire process. Sounds like they didn’t even try to make it right. If they don’t correct this, they won’t be in business long.

Hey Faye, absolutely great work on laying that out love watching Danny Weld. Unbelievable with the powder coating can’t tell you how many videos I watched were powder coating has entered the picture and I’ve yet to see any problem it always over delivers that’s kind of the point of powder coating even something like an exhaust bracket it should be the nicest Exhaust bracket you’ve ever seen. very sorry that happened to you. I sure hope they refund your money. That’s the least they could do especially after you shared your story with them. looking forward to seeing the artwork and I’m sure it’s going to be OK.
