My Modern Day Hand Cart 

I've had a few ideas for making my own, yours is fantastic! The size is just right for hauling bugout gear for several days. 😄👍

Good design, good craftsmanship! I tried my hand at gold getting at the beach. I soon discovered it was no fun lugging my homemade equipment to the best places that had the most black sand where the gold likes to hide out so I made a hand cart. Mine is kind of ugly compared to yours but it does very well for its intended purpose. It is made out of a tough discarded (polycarbonate maybe?)scrap bin about 2’x3’x18” , just right for a couple of five gallon buckets and everything else. It is all held together with removable clips so it easily disassembles . Sometimes I pull it with a bicycle. It is also great for hauling seawater from the surf that is necessary for.the battery powered sluice box. The grandkids like to pull each other around the yard in it too. Handcarts are great !

A shoulder strap fixed to the cart will help you pull over rough terrain. Also consider putting red reflectors on the back just in case it is dark and there's a car behind you.

Nice design. Might consider using PVC fence slats to lessen overall weight. Dual wheels might work on soft ground or those fat tires they are using on mountain bikes these days. I would like to see plans made available. I also liked idea of making some kind of cover to keep your "stuff" dry and shaded from the sun. My son lives in SLC and I told him about the Peppercorn. And to look you up. Maybe have him take some pictures. Good luck if you decide to build these.

Excellent great video I want to make Chinese wheelbarrow more for mountains hard to get into places it is hard to find a cart wheel that is 29 ,38 inches I thought I could convert my 29 mountain bike wheel so it holds on one side instead by both sides thank for the video very informative

That is quite impressive for a HAND cart. It appears rugged enough to use as a pull-behind lawn cart.

Maybe make a handle that you can hook to a belt around your waist kind of like an oxen yolk.

You could go solar as well with a panel on a small roof rack and power pack. Shit upgrade to electric hub motors and now it’s self propels and add brakes.

And they are eaten by feral dogs. ;) Good design though. It would be a very good idea to be in a large group to avoid highwaymen.

Do pull that Rikshaw to far. Use the spoke wheel and foam wheels for off road.

I am interested in where you got your wheels, frame and handlebars. did you weld the frame yourself? I have been thinking of this for my prepping equipment. Can ribs be added so a cover could be added. We have a handicapped son that may need to ride in it and I would like it covered (like a covered wagon). Where are you located. Are you in the Salt Lake area?
