I hate these kinds of people. They say that they're giving constructive criticism but they're actually just bullies. They don't care about your improvement at all, they just want to feel superior.

You have no idea how great it feels to hear that you biggest Controversy is legit just you used violin music sheets instead of bass music sheets for a cosplay.

I love that your most controversial photo was one with "inaccurate" sheet music. There's something so funny and charming about that. But man, yeah, some people are so picky and weird and awfully free with their rude opinions

I don't understand how the people who left the comments on sheet music that not everyone has money to buy the right kind of props for a cosplay or they don't want to be as close as perfect as possible to a character as can be. Its about having fun being a character you can and want to be. I agree with you on how you say something to get your point across to others.

A similar thing happened to me...and it wasn't even a cosplay picture. My one photographer friend likes to bring props to shoots, and he brought this really cool black violin + bow. We decided to do a casual outdoor city shoot. I posted a picture with the violin on my shoulder and holding the bow like I was playing, but the photo was more focused on my expression. Suddenly I got comments like "that's not how you hold a violin" and even "you're insulting musicians." Even though I am a musician (I play bass and drums). It was just a pose? For a photo? People will nitpick the weirdest things, but music is especially a sore spot for some reason. No idea why.

I hate how nit picky people can be its not even the main focus of the photo. Sometimes you've gotta work with what you've got. I personally loved the photo and the cosplay

It shouldn’t matter if a cosplay or props used is completely accurate or not. If someone tried, that is a plus in my book, we all started out with closet cosplay and use props that aren’t accurate. Heck, one of my friends used a diamon sword from Minecraft when they cosplayed as Link and it was great.

I think it's cool that you cosplayed a character you liked and used violin sheet music, which was meaningful to your life! It adds a special, personal touch to the photo, which was so cute btw. Some people love to dwell in negativity and are actually thrilled to know they hurt someone (out of jealousy? boredom? who knows), so my advice to anyone struggling with hate is to delete, block, and ignore! When I'm in a good mood, sometimes I also respond to rude comments with quotes from the Bee Movie. Confuses the heck out of the trolls and gives my followers/friends a good laugh!

It's crazy how quickly people will jump on the bandwagon in order to ruin someone's day based on ONE picture. That's why I love supporting other cosplayers as individuals to spread some kindness and love ❤️

It really doesn't matter that the music sheet wasn't accurate; it's just about representing music, which is what Mio is about. Even if it is for a violin, the whole point is the representation of the music genre, not perfect accuracy to the cosplay. Don't worry about the percentage of people looking too deep into and getting offended by these minor details. Do it how you love to...that's all that matters.

why I never want to upload cosplay pictures of myself to the public ✨ ah yes, the tea~ always kill them with kindness ✨ ages ago, when Hetalia was popular, my friends and I took some photos in our cosplays. I did some casual wardrobe cosplay of the Austria character because... he plays the violin. same I brought my violin and some sheet music with me and my photographer friend told me to sit by the tree with the violin and she spread the sheet music out around me. my friends were going for the cliché photos here. I swear to god no violinist would think this position is good for playing but my complaints were ignored 😂

i know sheet music for string instruments is a bit different than sheet music for other instruments so i could be talking out of my ass here, but when i was in band our sections would swap music all the time just for fun? and sometimes the piece doesnt have music written for every single instrument ever. i played oboe for five years and i ended up with A LOT of flute parts. so not only were they being super rude, but its also completely reasonable to be playing music that wasnt written for your specific instrument.

I hate it when someone randomly comments on a happy memory or a happy time and it ruins everything. Not to expect or think that everyone on the internet is an adult with manners...but seriously? Dragging other people into it was just...so unfair and sad. I think that the violin sheet music was aesthetically pleasing enough.Lol

That's like if you came up with a perfect cosplay of Batman, and you managed to find an actual cave with actual bats to do a photoshoot in, and you got the lighting perfect and it looked awesome, and then what's the first comment you get? 'NO! Those are Sanborn's Long-nosed Bats! Gotham City is on the East Coast; the climate is far too cold for them! POSER!' ...OK, maybe not quite that elaborate. But it was the scenario that popped up in my head.

And not to mention, the haters were attacking a minor (assuming that you were a minor since you were in high school at the time). I'm so sorry that you had to deal with all of that.

I did a tik tok one time as Motoko Kusanagi from Ghost in the Shell but the original 1990s anime movie version not the version from the anime series. I used music from the anime series since there wasn't very much from the original movie available and the person commented how basically they were upset that I used music from the anime series for it. I was like ok well I didn't do this for you sorry you're so offended🤔

Yeah, that last comment was so out of pocket. I can guarantee that they were most likely teenagers at the time. (I still get fellow teens talking like that to people today 😢) If I’d done a photo like that I would’ve used my choir music for it because we don’t own a printer and I’d hate to get comments like that. I’ll never understand how people can be so rude over something so insignificant.

God weirdo K-On fans are the actual worst. Back in about 2010-2011 I think? I took a photo of a completely unrelated cosplay I had been working on (Meryl from Trigun) and my guitar just happened to be in the background since the photo was taken in my room, and I shared the photo in our local cosplay community. Dude with a Tsumugi profile pic had a temper tantrum in the comments, talking about how shit my guitar was because it wasn't a Gibson Les Paul. It was the weirdest shit I've ever experienced and it's honestly all I think about when I think about K-on now. It's like they watch a cute anime of cute girls playing instruments and think it makes them an expert. Bet you anything if I handed my guitar to him he wouldn't know what to do with it. How are you gonna be a music snob when that's the extent of your musical knowledge? Bro didn't even realize how bad of an idea it was to diss a musician's instrument. I got banned from that cosplay community page for my colourful reply that day lmfao.
