Funny story about Lost. My brother watched the entire series. When the finale aired, the next day he heard Rush Limbaugh talking about it on his show and he was clearly not understanding what happened. My brother called in to the show, got on air, and was able to explain it to Rush. (He was not a regular listener of Rush, just happened to stumble upon it that particular day).
No wonder the Tarte powder was drying! The third, fourth, and fifth ingredients were tapioca starch, corn starch and aluminum starch. Sounds great for someone with very oily skin!
OMG... I love LOST too. What a ride. What beautiful, emotional classic network TV - good writing, sizzling chemistry between the characters. So glad that it holds up.
I felt like the Tarte pink powder darkens my under eyes too! Glad I wasn’t the only one lol it does blur my pores but I love a bright undereye. Soooo lol
I feel like a lot of companies/people don't actually know what "mauve" looks like. In the art world, "mauve" has always referred to purplish tones, but nowadays, in the cosmetics world, I see nearly every color under the sun referred to as "mauve". It's just not accurate and I find it very frustrating. We need greater literacy.
I didn't realise there was a misuse or misunderstanding of the mauve colour. There's even a medicinal flower/ herb called La Mauve in french. I don't know if it gave its name to the colour but well, it's mauve so it's difficult to get mixed up 😁 Indeed mauve is a gorgeous light purple colour. Not lavender, not fuschia.
I agree that the word "mauve" is misused a lot these days, as mauve is one of my favourite colours and I'm always hunting for a good mauve lipstick (I'm obsessed), but I'm not sure if literacy is the problem, or if cosmetic product developers and copywriters need to get more creative with their language. If they accurately labeled mauve as mauve and not-mauve as pink or purple or whatever, consumers would fall in line. It wouldn't stop others from mislabeling things as mauve, but it'd help in our beauty community.
I think you should! I know a few who felt like that and rewatched and wondered what they were thinking with their original watch because they loved it upon rewatching it! I read a great article about it recently too - about the logic vs the emotion and character centric premise of it all. 💗
Hello Stephanie ! Great video ! Question, can you please share what that beautiful lipstick is that you are wearing when you are demonstrating the first blush ? It’s absolutely stunning ❤ 💄💋💄💋💄💋💄💋💄💋💄💋💄💋
Thank you! It’s just so good! If you want a rabbit hole, check out Mic’s Mike’s RU-vid unhinged recaps. He’s done the first two seasons and they’re AMAZING! He is a hoot! Don’t be deterred by the length because he covers entire seasons - with flowcharts and dry wit. If you love lost, you’ll love them!!
That was me last year! I kept thinking about it but it seemed so daunting! It had been YEARS. And then I started one day and it was so much fun! I forgot lots of things, so it was new mixed with old and everything in between. I couldn’t watch it enough! 😆
20 years ago the LOST! It’s a total summer show! I’m rewatching Dexter (OG because I don’t have showtime), I had forgotten lots and lots of stuff, so I’m thoroughly enjoying it. Once D is done, I’m on to LOST 🏝️ 🗺️ ✈️ 🥭 💨
Hi! So a few videos back you recommend the Bobbi Brown under eye corrector stick and my ears perked up. I have such bad dark circles, a dermatologist once asked me if I had been hit in the face! Anyway, I found it today and WOW - I will now faithfully trust any recommendation you make, girl! Thank you for sharing your secrets!
I'm definitely adding Lost to my list of shows to watch. If you have never watched Outlander, I highly recommend it. My husband and I have watched it 4 times and could still watch it some more. It's fantastic.
When lost was first filming my husband and i came across the set in Hawaii. We both freaked out because we work for an airline and saw plane wreckage. Lol, we finally came across a sign that said filming set.
I'm delighted to hear of e.l.f.'s nose contouring brush! I don't contour my nose much, as I love its odd shape, but sometimes I play around, and I could use an affordable brush to help me, a nose contouring novice, out. Thanks for bringing it to our attention!
I’m on the hunt for a reliable mascara for short straight lashes. Do you have a favorite? Won’t be trying the fireworx 🤣. Love these types of videos. I was debating on trying the tarte powder but I trust your review❤😊
I really appreciate your review of that mascara. Most people go nuts for blush, but I've always been a junkie for mascara, lipstick and foundation. I'd almost ordered that new mascara and now I'm glad I hesitated. I don't like heavy, wet mascaras. Right now I'm using the Grande Lash Waterproof, which is a much drier formula, and loving it, so I'll just stick with what works.
Have u tried the Bare Minerals Dewy Gloss Balms? I just bought a couple and love it. Has shine and enough pigment to flatter the lips without it looking like lipstick
Hi Stephanie Marie, is that really pretty outline to your lips still down to the drunk elephant lip balm? Sadly didn't have the same effect on me, but wonder if I should try again! x
Oh, and have you ever tried the Pat McGrath foundation? I know it's not one of the shiny, new products out there, but I received a sample of it and was actually impressed by my single use. I've been thinking of trying it out.
Hi Steph! I love all of your videos & get so excited to see a new one! This is off topic but I wanted to mention that I had ordered the little stainless steel under-eye ball roller with the little guava tool on the other end about 10 days ago and it says it will still take yet another week to come in! I'm so bummed cause I think I'm really gonna love it! Don't ya wish that all things on Amazon would be two-day delivery, LOL! ALSO: Please will you do a video about July 16th-17th Amazon Prime Days before it starts, so I know the cool things to buy? Thank you for what you do, Luv ya! 😘
That’s a bummer! Mine got here so quickly! But I’ve had random things from Amazon take forever because they ship from some weird warehouse or something. Sometimes I’ve had to cancel the order and start over. No clue why that happens sometimes!! I’m doing a couple of AP videos! One the weekend before and one during! Thank you!! 😊
Pat McGrath is made for the undereye area and looks better on my under eyes and brightens while it sets. Kosas creased and settled into my fine lines and it sometimes settled strangely on my concealer. PM is verrrry finely milled, sheer and sets perfectly. It's already small at .14 oz since it's just for under eyes :) Kosas is a full-face setting powder and is twice the size. 💖
I ordered the Thrive lip crayon, the color is beautiful but you are right it moves, smears and wears off far too quickly. Unfortunately I do not have great luck with their products. I think after this disappointment I will no longer be purchasing from this company.
We couldn't be more polar opposites. Your sandals all have a square toe, and the buckle. They remind me of Mrs. Roper 😂 Sorry 😅 I know you love them but even though I am 55 my old rocker/goth ways you would never catch me wearing those. 😊😂
