Come and see how my mother-in-law makes traditional Turkish food like yaprak sarma and walnut baklava. I'll also show you how my Turkish family celebrates Ramadan (Ramazan) including taking you to an iftar meal with lots of delicious Turkish cuisine and enjoy the treats Bayram. And I'll take you along on errands and to see the Kaktüs Evi in Istanbul. If you'd like to see more from my perspective as an American living in Turkey, please consider subscribing to my RU-vid channel and giving this video a thumbs up. Until next time, thanks!

During the Ottoman time many Turkish food spread over region where Ottomans ruled and even to some neighbor countries those were not part of ottoman empire so you can find turkish ottoman influence in many Arab countries middle Asia Bulkan countries East Europe south of Russia some Parts of south and west europe , Iran , Ppakistan and even some parts of india Therefore people change the names of same food or change a little of style and recipe For example in Iraq the call staffed vegetable Dulma other countries call it mahshi some in north Africa call Sarma Dulma or burak

It's interesting to see different takes on the same foods from the names to the ingredients depending on where you are. I was surprised to see sarma called dolma in the US at Turkish restaurants, though. But maybe it's more commonly called this so that's why it's on the menu as such... just a guess, but I'm not sure. Either way, they are very tasty :) Thank you so much for taking the time to watch!
