After some reorganizing I'm finally able to share a room tour of my music/listening room and setup. This multi-function room also serves as my kid's play room as well as a family room and office.
I also go over how I organize my collection.

Very refreshing to see an audio set-up that doesn`t look the cockpit of the space shuttle. Yours looks closer to My own. You have wonderfully broad tastes & one day I hope your kids appreciated the diversity of Music you're exposing them to. Jean-Luc Ponty in the background made this tour especially nice.

Love your Genesis photo and the photo of your daughter Bill. Those are fantastic. Wonderful tour Bill and your a braver man than I. My record room shares space with my daughter’s toys and exercise equipment. That’s why I have never done a tour.

Hey Paul! Thanks! Ha, I perfectly understand and can relate about sharing the space. Trust me I had to do a lot of straightening up before trying to film this room tour. But on the other hand it is what it is so I tried to show that. The picture of Sophia is still one of my favorites of her. She just started fourth grade but she's still very photogenic. And I'm very proud of my Genesis photo. I took a lot that night and if memory serves, I think this is the only one I took that I got all five members in the shot. Thanks for watching, Paul! Great room tour! My Beatles and Beach Boys share a cube as well. Love the jean-luc ponty, whom I became familiar with through his connection with Frank Zappa. Great stuff! Thanks for the tour!

Thanks! Everything is still pretty much set up the same although I've broken out a few more genre sections. This set up works for me and I'm working with the space I have available. I appreciate the comment! Take care!

Hey Eric! I was never able to do a room tour before in the previous configuration of the room and frankly I was embarrassed too. Changing up the room really worked for the better of all of us. My kids prefer it this way then how it was before. Which is super great for me because this setup really benefited me. Thanks for watching and if you ever get a room tour up I’ll be hanging with you! ✌🏻

Hey Lis! Yeah, finally am able to do a room tour! That Ponty show sounds like it was amazing. Lucky you! I'm really thankful that I was able to rearrange the room and that the rest of the family is happy with it as it benefited me the most. But the kids are just as happy with how it is now. Win Win all around! All good here. Sophia started 4th grade last week and Will starts pre-k next Monday. Time moves so fast. Trying to always stop and smell the roses. We are all good though. I hope you are great!

Nice! The Genesis photo is a terrific shot. I just bought a Fluance turntable myself...took my Pioneer to Vinyl Solution and traded it for some records: got Edgar Froese RSD, two Savoy Browns, the Band, and a blues comp.

I wish I had saved my concert stubs - only a few and they are in my Jewel cases, so I am always surprised when I come across them. I use a bluray player as my cd transport as well, fed with an optical cable to the amp. I probably should have picked up that Sunflower reissue... Solid room setup, Bill! I used to have a bunch of 78’s, but lost several during the move to the farm, so I gave up on them.

Thanks Kris! I'm on the hunt for acoustically recorded 78s. It's a fun little side-hobby and I would like to spin some on the channel. I have a series name and everything... Steel Needle Spins. But I need to be more active trying to build up a collection of them before I do anything like that. That will probably be a while before I can focus on that. This new layout is working out so much better before. And I totally didn't mention in the video how the sound has improved so much since the speakers are positioned much better. I am not a fan of the way tickets are handled now though. You no longer get an actual ticket. It's all electronic. So, the days of collecting ticket stubs are over sadly. I hope you are doing well!

When you backed off with the camera Bill I could immediately see where your Genesis/Gabriel collection was located. And a fine collection it is. I did not know that you were a drummer. You have a thorough jazz collection too. I picked off your Tone Poets, Impulse and Blue Note reissues before you even mentioned it. {smile} Seems like the last couple of albums in every VC member's classic rock section is either Neil Young or Zappa. {smile} Loved seeing the Analogue Production pressing of Sunflower. My favorite period of the Beach Boys is '66 - Pet Sounds to 73 - Holland'. >< I grabbed the Max Roach 'We Insist' reissue on RSD too. Maybe a bit too serious for my jazz taste. But if you like avant-garde jazz with political messages this is a must hear. Did you like the first time you heard it? Love the Squire autograph. >< You got everything in that room needed for hours on end enjoyment. Loved seeing it Bill. I appreciate how neat and organized you keep it. I do the same. Danny Tanner would be proud of the both of us. {smile again} Enjoy the rest of the Labor Day weekend. I am not a happy camper seeing that the endless summer will unfortunately be ending soon. Hey Rob, I know it's always sad when the summer comes to a close. But that's the way the world turns. We are gearing up for fall over here. Back to school, halloween, birthday's all of that fun stuff! Sunflower is just about a perfect album. Right up there for me at the top of their discography. Hi Bill, A splendid space and collection and some Ponty is wonderful for a late night breather with a VC video and calming the mind. The Genesis photo is wonderful! Really an eye popper. The long awaited and much teased room tour. I was pretty amazed with all the concert tickets, wow that was a lot of stuff. And then you show some albums with tons I know nothing about. I like to tease something and then keep up the suspense, Steve. I said I'd do this room tour in July but didn't get it out until September. Oh well, I'm trying. lol The 90s was the decade for concerts for me. Probably 60% of those tickets were during the 90s. Hey, when your son says play legos with me I play lego's so I do play with them! We made a labyrinth last week. It was fun. I know how much people like room tours, me included, so I was finally in a position to do it with rearranging the space. The new layout is working great for me and I'm thankful that my family was on board and they love it just as much this way. Thanks Steve, I hope all is well! Take care!

Hello😀 Bill; The Vinylverse 🌌taking the VC on a room tour. Looks very neat & organized with each audio format in place. Like the Jean Luc playing the Jazzy background sound. Nice turntable, receiver, & speakers our CD's are also played on a 📀DVD player. The record rack ( keeper of the grails ) holds the vinyl treasures. Along with the children's toys & wall displays which count the most. The record cleaner & the Vinylverse tumbler. Good video. Take care, 🙋‍♀Tina & 🙋‍♂Pat!~

Yeah, been enjoying JLP lately. Cheap grab from Goodwill. Vinyl looked unplayed with a tight spindle hole so I'm doubtful that it was ever played.

We have this in common that we share the space with our kids, which is what family life is all about. :-) I love the Genesis picture that you took yourself and enlarged. This new layout is really working great for me and I'm thankful that the rest of my family was ok with the rearrangement and that they love it this way too. I think I benefited the most though. :) Yeah, I got to meet Chris Squire, Steve Howe, Alan White, and Jon Anderson at an album signing when Keys To Ascension was released. Rick Wakeman was unable to make it that evening though unfortunately. It was something else meeting your musical heroes. Especially Chris. Fish Out Of Water is such a favorite of mine as well. And to have his signature on the CD cover is a true treasure. Things are always busy and hectic but we are all good. I hope all is well with you and your family! Take care!

Thanks Emma! You already heard the rant on e-tix for concerts. I like having the stubs for memories. I do wish I put them in a book or something to take better care of them. I guess there's still time to do that. Thanks for the nice comment about my space. It's much better for me than it was. I'm happy that everyone was on board with the rearranging. And that they are happy with the results. It benefited me the most so I'm thankful. And I didn't mention in the video and I should've but the rearranging made a huge difference on the sound of my records. Thanks for watching!

Bill great tour love your setup fluance and Pioneer Elite rig love the music you were playing during your room tour. The Genesis corned always great to look at and that photo you took at the Genesis show you attended so damn stunning I wish I could of saw them on tour . I need to do a room tour soon I’ve always enjoyed listening room tours cool Project record cleaning machine you I had that on my wantlist so I settled on the Record Doctor VI. I thought it'd be easier using a handheld gimbal to hold my phone but it didn't work out like I had hoped or more-so that I didn't know how to use it properly. Hey Bill. Did you hear the news about Genesis selling their catalog and publishing rights to Concord? It only applies to the Banks-Collins-Rutherford era. The pre 1978 material was not included. Will be interesting to see what they do. Hopefully some rare material is released. Still really sad that it's the end of an era. What are your thoughts about this?

Hey Jordan! I wish I were going to Porcupine Tree but I couldn’t swing it for a couple different reasons. Have a blast it should be amazing! My cleaner was a game changer because of convenience. It does a great job. I love that I can clean a new record as soon as I open it. If I could’ve afforded it I wouldn’t gotten the VC-S2 but that was too much more than I wanted to spend. Yes! I have a bunch. A bunch 7” singles a few 12” singles. I have CD singles boxed away that’s I’d have to dig out. But yeah I’ll get a Video together for that at some point. Great suggestion. Thanks!

Thanks for watching! Yes, before I kind of lumped everything together alphabetically with the exception of Jazz. When I reorganized my room I decided to split the collection by genre. So the main section is Prog Rock, Krautrock, Fusion, Electronic, and Ambient. Then my other shelves contain Jazz, Rock, Soul/Funk, Singer/Songwriter, Blues, and Classical. I never thought I'd like organizing by genre but now I am of the mindset that it works best for me this way.
