I absolutely adore fall for jackets, blazers, and sweaters make me happy! Wow, what an amazing find, that Chanel jacket is absolutely gorgeous! Thanks for sharing your style journey Audrey!
Lovely green Chanel jacket, what a find! It looks wonderful with navy. I look fprward to your blaxer video. I collect vintage blazers and enjoy wearing them. I am looking right now for a cream/winter white one in stretch flannel...I like Holland Cooper blazers and hope one day to happen upon one vintage...no luck so far.
I love jackets but rarely invest because its so hot in Southern California until well after Thanksgiving. Even then the temps are so mild in winter , light layering is more than sufficient.
I live in Germany and I am green with envy. I HATE wearing thick, functional winter jackets/coats form October to April. I have a lot of nice summer jackets but the days I am able to wear them are so limited. 😭
You can get trench coats in many colors, it doesn't have to be that taupe since it's the construction that makes a trench coat a trench coat (which I'm sure you know). My trench coat is in denim which is perfect for my coloring and style, so keep looking and you will find the perfect trench coat for you 😉
Good luck on tailoring the Chanel jacket. When I lost weight years ago, a tailor told me the jackets would never fit well because the armholes were too big for my current size and he couldn’t change that. I did have him tailor anyway because it was cheaper than replacing my work wardrobe of wool suits. A few years later when my weight was stabilized I was able to slowly replace them.,
All fantastic and practical. LOVE that vintage Channel jacket!! It would literally need to have the lining removed the sleeves taken off. I'd reach out to a RU-vidr like Bernadette Banner. She featured a historical seamstress that made an incredible tailored jacket. Would be expensive but we'll worth it!
Great video! I love seeing your collection. I have a black leather jacket that's similar to yours. I wore it last night over a short sleeve blouse and long black skirt to a ballet with my daughters. I found it at a Goodwill 7 years ago and I've worn it countless times in the spring and fall ever since. It's the perfect jacket for me, and I feel as good in it now as the day I bought it. To me that's the definition of a classic. It's an amazing feeling to love a garment so much that we wish it would last forever
You and I are different skin- and hair types, so that my preferences about colours are different. A camel coat is gorgeous for me, but I also have a very versatile black coat, that I have to adapt to myself with a scarf or a turtleneck. For the other items I agree with you. Thanks for your advice.
Jackets is something I've been trying to look into more often with the seasons changing. I currently own 1 green utility jacket, my Levi's dark denim jacket and a rain coat, but that's about it for now. I definitely could use a couple more options and hearing your insights has helped me to get a better grasp on what could actually work for my style versus buying things that are considered trendy.
I just found two vintage gems while thrifting recently for fall. Both green, imagine that(earthy) 🤣 a knee length, tench coat style emerald velvet one and a very structured moss coloured, leather jacket with black embellishments! I’m in love!! I spent $60 total, for the two of them! Best spent money for THE COOLEST jackets I own😃
I'm so thrilled to know that the vintage, green, tweed jacket was so lovely that you bought it eventhough it is too big. I have, but not often bought something that was so amazing on me that I had to have it.
Jackets and coats are my weakness. I have way too many. You look great in navy. When you showed the clip of you wearing your navy field jacket you came alive. I'm looking forward to your blazer video. All but 1 of my blazers have come from thrift shops and 2 were brand new with tags. Since my blazer journey began I bought several that were just "wrong" for me. Either the material (I don't like wool), the fit, or the style wasn't right for me so I gifted them. My favorites are a camel hair fitted blazer in camel color (it was like new and fits me like a dream) and my navy fitted blazer (that was my store purchase).
A very timely video, thanks Audrey. First off : Could you do something on what to wear with a denim jacket ? Dressing it up/down. I love your blue waterproof jacket. Thought you might also have a modo leather jacket too.
I love the outfit you suggest. As fall is coming up here, I drop by your channel for looking for style. Every season changes, I do it all the time. Thank you for your video. Take care.
Audrey, it so good to see you again, it seems like a l o n g time...or, did I miss a video?....I appreciate your calming voice,... polished Iin every area...you're beautiful!!
Great content. I just scored a black Theory zip up Bomber jacket I’d been on the hunt for at a Goodwill of all places for $10.00…Looks like it’s never been worn…Deals on coats and jackets are a plenty in thrift and consignment…Thanks Audrey!
Not only do I love your channel for fashion...but it's total unintentional ASMR. Also, I'd love to see you rock a Canadian tuxedo! I love denim on denim, especially in spring & fall.
Outerwear is such a large portion of an outfit in the colder months. I think they should be very carefully thought out for one’s personal style. Functionality is a must and wearability across your wardrobe. I have one trenchcoat that suits me; it does have a hood, but it’s not terribly waterproof. Trenchcoats aren’t really designed to be worn walking the street in the rain I don’t think. I am looking into a cotton oilskin type of jacket like you have here. I really enjoy leather jackets. I have a black leather trench that I absolutely love, a black leather blazer and a black leather Moto style jacket. They all seem redundant, but even though they are all black leather, they each have their own style variability that is distinct enough for me to keep that role. Black leather adds great texture to an otherwise bland outfit I think. I am looking at a cream/tan leather blazer to add to my collection! Denim jackets I think can be a lot of fun when they are not the traditional denim jacket style. I found a vintage denim jacket that looks more like a chore coat style along with a dark wash denim blazer that is absolutely stunning and quite the juxtaposition for the denim jacket/blazer category. I’m very excited to wear it this fall!
I have coloring similar to yours, and have been looking for a waterproof rain trench with a hood (or without, it's gotten to that point) in that taupey shade that we can wear for nearly 15 years, with no luck. If you find the unicorn, please let me know.
Coats and sweaters are my WEAKNESS! You have a great collection and the variety is great for a small wardrobe. I'm looking forward to pulling all of mine out!
I live in rainy Seattle and when I was commuting to work, I wanted a long rain coat in a light color (so as to be visible in the dark) with a removable liner. I had exactly one choice. It's not the best style, but it worked for keeping me warm and dry. I did have an older lady tell me to go back to where I came from, so I suspect it has a bit of a Hijab feel to it. Maybe I'll add this to my list of things to replace someday
Thanks as always for your detailed content! Can't wait to see the blazer video. As much as I want yo love my blazers, I really struggle with then making me feel too stuffy. Looking forward to hearing your thoughts!
I was thinking I had way too many jackets, but I'm glad to know that there are others out there who have multiple of the same. I thought it was silly for me to have 3 leather jackets when they all serve different purposes. though I'm sure i should downsize soon
I have loved your outfit at 2:45 for so long and am wondering what kind of hat you are wearing in the photo? It has such a distinctive slope to the fedora and I would love to find a similar one 😍 I love jackets and coats! What a fabulous collection and video!
Do you still like your curated coat? I'm curious how that has aged in your wardrobe. I saw your video on it and was wondering if you still feel the same or if you had second thoughts about it at some point.
Hello Audrey Your video is incredibly helpful, however I was wondering if you could share what kinds of pants would work best for me as a short 4'11" woman to make me appear taller? i hope you can help us extra small petite women
My only requirements for outerwear are: light weight and easy on/off. SoCal is never too cold therefore I wear poly filled thin puffers and ruana/poncho.
Audrey, you may want to reach out to Nikol Johnson (youtube) she has an extensive designer vintage collection and I’m sure she must get things tailored. Your jacket is such a beautiful color green. ❤
Loved the Chanel jacket. The camel coat does look very pale with the white tee. I thought a large silk scarf worn loose to the waist and untied would lift it. I like single breasted trench coats - similar to the cut of your black coat - the double breasted wrap style does nothing for me. I also have a patterned trench (checked) which is a nice change.
Is there something wrong with your video recorder: the last few videos have been all blurry. It makes them very unpleasant to watch and I can't get to the end of them.
