Hi everyone! I wish you a great Sunday - and thanks for all your smart questions 😊 (I really like to do this kind of Q&A video, I hope you enjoy it too!)
Justine Leconte officiel I HAVE COOL FAIRER SKIN WITH PINK UNDERTONE..I ALSO HAVE DARK BROWN HAIR AND DARK BROWN EYES... WHAT COLOR GEMSTONE STUDS WILL MAKE MY EYES AND SKIN COME ALIVE?? Thank you
Would you be able to do a video on simple ways to make prêt-à-porter clothing more elevated or better fitting? For affordable pieces where you love it but maybe it would be better changing embellishments or doing some easy sewing.
Thanks for doing this videos in English, I am not sure I could follow them in French and German is completely out of the question. I am from Brazil and most people here don't even speak English, fewer still understand French.
Muchas gracias Justine por contestarme la pregunta sobre tu pelo largo. De cualquier largo que te lo cortes te quedaría muy bien ¡por que tienes unos ojos y una cara muy bonita!
Totally agree!!! You are so nice, clear in concepts and the answers that you give are all from a positive perspective. Thank you!! (i dont speak english, but i`m learning)
These videos are always enjoyable!🍂The element that always sticks in my mind afterwards is your professionalism. Whilst you are hoping to dissipate fashion myths, I hope that it is your professionalism that is widely copied. Strangely, this element appears to be invisible to many people. They cannot see it or value it. That is why it is especially precious in this medium, that is, here on youtube where a vast and disparate audience may see it. 🍂
I always thought there was a bit of a German accent in the English. Bravo Justine! Can you make a video on How to Accesorize Outfits with print? Like the heavily printed African Kitenge?
Justine, do not cut your hair. You have a classic elegant beauty that is enhanced by your long hair. It is very French or European and beautiful. I love your videos. Thanks for making them. They are a delight to watch and they always inspire and teach me. Thank you!
I admire your calm demeanor. Your always so calm and clear spoken in your videos. Whenever I'm stressed out I take a breath & think "What would Justine do?" lol. Never change Justine, never change 😁
I'm infinitely jealous of your language abilities lol. People like to make fun of us Americans because we usually only speak english, but it's not for lack of trying! I wasn't exposed to foreign languages until middle school and I've been trying to master them ever since. It's so hard!
Alisya Edwards what languages are you learning? I've met many Americans, mainly younger ones, who are eager to speak multiple languages, and many who speak at least ASL. ^_^ I started learning English at 10 years of age, and it was hard as hell. Good luck 👍
Olga Cruz I started with Spanish but I've also studied French for many years. I've taken Brazilian Portuguese classes, but it was a little too much (considering my lack of mastery of Spanish and French). ASL is very interesting too, I learned about when I was in college.
I think the "problem" is that English is the universal language, so subconsciously you don't feel the necessity of another language because everyone has to speak English. The majority of the world has to learn it so that puts you in a more comfortable position, because you could learn out of sheer interest, not actual benefit. I think that is fine for English speaking people. I am Greek and I see a lot of tourists here who are not English and haven't learnt to speak English or Greek. I mean how am I going to communicate with you, people??? I've done my part of 10+ year long education in English, where is your work? I find it very irresponsible as a person of the 21st century to receive tourists and not speak english or to be yourself a tourist in a strange country and not speak english or the native language at least.
ahh I agree. I actually feel irresponsible myself only knowing English. There have been times where I could've communicated more effectively if I only knew more Spanish(I took both French and Spanish at university). I still dabble, out of interest like you said, but I was considering taking classes once enrollment starts for the Spring :)
Alisya Edwards that would be wonderful! If only more viewed this the same way! ^_^ aside from Greek and English, I have also taken a year-long course of Italian and will continue in the future! I absolutely adore the sound of this language and I am attracted to culture and arts of this ethnicity, but it could also prove useful. There are so many Italian tourists in the summer on the islands that native people have learnt the language to make tourists feel more welcomed. I find this sweet
It was so lovely hearing you speak German. I absolutely love your videos and the fact that you share your profound knowledge about all things fashion! Grüße aus Hamburg 😊⚓️ ps: I think you're by far one of the few RU-vidrs who is quite articulate.
I love your long hair without "trendy" haircut. This simple cut is always "in". I admire you that you can speak 3 foreign languages and moreover you have quite small accents in English and German. I have some French colleagues at work and their accents are really strong. I am happy that your channel is in English, I would not be able to follow you in any other language. :-) I have forgotten a lot from my German language knowledge and I do not speak French or Spanish at all.
Akinom8002 I don’t like that women have to be put in this age appropiate box ,if long hair or short or medium hair suits your face and feautures it doesn’t matter what age you are. The same thing goes for trendy cuts if it makes you look horrible who cares if it’s trendy!
You are such a marvel, Justine! I swear I get smarter and more fashionable watching each of your videos--even when I am just sitting on my couch in my pajamas. Watching you is like having a wonderfully elegant, fashionable (but completely non-judgmental) friend. Thank you!
'Where you going my lady?' I feel like a million bucks! ... Oh, that is so true Justine!!! there is a 'je ne sais quoi' about the tone & accent of British that just makes you feel like a star! 👍😍
Justine, besides your informational videos, I'd love to see some outfits of the day now and then. You've mentioned you're going to a wedding, so I would love to see just what you wore that day, or maybe a few outfits, since you've been going to a few. Or if that's more of your cup of tea, please, make a video on how to dress to a wedding. I find that's about the only appropriate occasion (besides prom and red carpet, which doesn't happen often) to bring out your best dress, but at the same time you don't want to look over the top. Can be very challenging!
I appreciate the question re leggings for 50+ years old. Thank you. Have always liked the look on others but haven't tried it on me -- yet! Glad I'm not the only "elder" watching!!
I don't know why, but I LOVED hearing you speak German. :D Also, I enjoy your content so much. Well researched and educated, based on facts rather than simple opinions. Thank you so much for putting in all this work for us. Just know that it is greatly appreciated! :)
I have very very long hair as well. My mothers family is indigenous American so long hair is a part of our culture. I cut it in uni to several different short hairstyles. I enjoyed them for a little bit but ultimately I missed my long hair so I regret it. My mother had the same thing. She cut her hair in her 40's because my fathers family that is mostly of Irish heritage was telling her that she was much too old for long hair. She kept it for a few years but in the end missed her long hair a lot.
I've often heard that long hair is quite meaningful for Native Americans in ways non-indigenous don't really understand. Hope you each get back to lengths that feel right for you.
I also enjoy Justine's videos on Sunday... it's taken the place of the news...and much more enjoyable. I like how she touched on fashion, lifestyle, and a good explanation of why she does her RU-vid videos in English. My French and German are nicht sehr gut and I only understood un petit peu of what she said. 😉
I always get pleasure from your work Justine. Your manner of teaching, the variety of subjects and your wonderful method of presentation keeps me very interested in your channel. Regards, Deb
Justine your intelligence and positive energy show in every video and we appreciate very much you sharing those within informative content. If there were more people like you on RU-vid we would have hope
Wow! That was such a good German sample! :D I have to say I didn't expect it to be soooo smoooth! You have basically no foreign accent. Chapeau bas! :D
You are such a fun and nice person ^_^ I really enjoy your videos. And like you said the fact that you pre-script and don't randomly talk keeps it really nice and clean :) very informative and fun yet to the point. Keep up the good work!
Wow Justine! Great Q&A, you are so candid and open, the only thing missing for me was to hear you speaking in Spanish ;) Saludos desde Montréal, Canada xx
I'm just a military wife who lives in rural Nebraska. I have never left the USA and don't know any other languages. I am thankful you do your channel in English. I have learned a lot from you and enjoy watching you. I love your accent and even though I have no idea what you said in German, it was beautiful to listen to! I am just over 40 and as my kids are getting older I am finally starting to realize i can have a style other than yoga pants and a messy bun. So I appreciate all of your thorough teaching on these things as I really have no idea what I'm doing. Thank you for all you're doing, even reaching housewives in the middle of nowhere! :-)
You are so comforting to listen to. I could listen to you talk all day. You cover a wide variety of content and always give your opinion but also encourage people to find their own truth. Thank you so much.
For selfish reasons I am very happy that you speak English. I admire you so much. Your knowledge, mannerisms and grace keep me watching your channel. Thank you
Thank you Justine! It was so nice to hear you speak different languages. I myself am Finnish but German and French in addition to English are my absolute favorite languages. Your videos are always a pleasure to watch: you are informative, well-spoken and obviously very educated in your field. Thank you!
Thank you, Justine for this video. I really love that you mentioned feeling uncomfortable in clothing being the faux pas. I sometimes see women (especially) wearing clothing in which they obviously feel uncomfortable--too tight, too short, too something--and I always want to tell them that there are so many other styles they can wear and be comfortable. I try to do always dress that way myself as well. Also, I appreciate your comments about being able to wear any style of clothing or hair style at any age as long as you are comfortable with it. As a woman of 54, I tend to dress and wear my hair in many different styles although I was told growing up that there were definite limits on these things based on age. I think that is unhealthy nonsense. By the way, I currently have long hair, but have worn it very short several times in my adult life. I never got bored, but growing it out is a challenge that requires more styling time for me. I offer this just as food for thought when you're considering a cut. Thank you again for all the work you put into these videos. I find them so very interesting and informative.
I am 46 and have very long hair. The idea of not being up to put it up in a lovely nautilus bun using no hairpins makes me keep it! It's so easy and can still look tidy and I just love my hair! You have inspired me to learn a new language. I want to so I will! Thank you for another lovely Sunday!
Such a delightful video. First, I want to say that your skin looks glowing! Also, I think your hair is beautiful and healthy looking. I only wish I could wear my hair long! Hope you have had a wonderful trip!
Love this video. I love what you said about people wearing what they feel comfortable in, that its important for clothing to represent the real you. Also, love that you're trying to educate and share and break down misconstrued ideas about fashion.
I think you are a riot, Justine! I love the way you say your name at the beginning of each video. I also love your inclusiveness and not putting down any idea if it is something someone wants. I wish I knew someone like you in this area. You are perfect for this!
Love the fact you are traveling to see friends getting married!!! Hope it was a lovely wedding!!! Love your question & answers!!!! So glad you did your videos in English. As far as tattoos I am a big chicken too afraid of the pain!!! I am trying to grow my hair long so I can put it up!!! Love your long hair!!! Have fun!!! Sending love & hugs to Spain!!!!
Dear Justine You have so many people watching you for who you are, rather than for all the (very interesting and very useful ) tips you give every week through your videos. Keep up the good work, we'll be watching! ! Greetings from Greece!
Great Video again! I wondered about your nails so much, they are so pretty! Now I know ;) I admire how perfectly you speak English and now that I heard your German, I am stunned! You are such a talent! Please keep on going with your Chanel, es ist wirklich toll und hilfreich Tipps und Informationen von Dir zu hören!!
I've often wondered how you find time for these videos whole running your business. I'm so grateful to you for spending so much time to help us all. I'm not super active on RU-vid nor do I pay tons of attention to fashion anymore, so it's a miracle I found you and you've helped me feel more confident and interested in my personal style again. Thank you Merci Danke Shon Gracias! ❤️
this is so funny! I was thinking of asking you about tattos and regreting I didn't and then few minutes later you talk about it!!! I love your videos, always looking forward to new ones :)
I love your editing! It's so clean and quick and to the point. I appreciate that you dont do 5 minutes of advertising yourself. I cant stand when other youtubers do that.
I love how you are so quick to laugh/smile! I'm American with French and German heritage...no wonder I like details AND the big picture...now I know why! Ha ha! Love your videos and advice!
I'm am so glad I found your channel and that you do it in English! Each video I learn something valuable and I enjoy your delivery style. Pleasing structure, humorous and you are so sweet I look forward to see where you will take us next. Thank you for all your hard work putting together your wonderful videos:)
You are cute and honest, and you don't try to impress by shock and by pushing it. That's why I appreciate about you character. I also like that you don't waste the time of your viewers and that you document your information before. Keep on going! I wish you success!
Oh Justine, Deine deutsche Aussprache ist zuckersüß! Äußerst sympathisch! Und wie schön Dein Französisch klingt, muß an dieser Stelle nicht näher erläutert werden :-) Je l'adore!
Justine, I have learned so much from you. I live in Raleigh, North Carolina, USA and I am of French, Irish and English decent. I have traced my heritage back to France and I hope to visit someday soon. Thank you for sharing your insight. I think you are a fabulous lady!
I thought the question about your hair could have been rephrased a little kinder. Your hair always looks clean, neat and tidy. Don’t cut it! It’s perfect just the way it is 👍
Can't agree more on the tattoo part. I too am scared that I will get bored very easily. Same goes for haircut! Can you please do a hair care video? Also, I would love to see what you wore to your friend's wedding. Love from India!
I could listen to your accent all day long! 😊 I appreciate your relaxed attitude and that you don't speak as if your opinion is the only right opinion. That's refreshing to see on RU-vid.
Bravo to you for not having tattoos. I heard an Italian comedian, Sebastian Maniscalco, say in one of his presentations that when asked why he did not have any tattoos he would reply "You don't put a bumper sticker on a Ferrari!"
My comment involved specifically the comedian's response regarding tattoos, not his humor or presentations in general, and thought his tattoos response was brilliant. To each his own, so true. :) Best to you.
Justine, I am learning so much from you as I watch all your videos. There are things every girl should learn from their mother, ideally, and I am so happy to learn them and pass these gems onto my daughter who is now 7. It's that special!
I'm so glad I never got a tattoo. I love them on other people, but I shudder to think what I look like now if I had gotten one according to my taste 20 years ago. Think: Huge dragon, covering my whole back....I was really into phantasie books back then 😁 Better to spent ones creative impulses on stuff that can be exchanged or discarded if need be, methinks.
Hi Justine, I feel as though you left us with a cliffhanger by teasing us about the wedding, but not showing us your more formal look! 😂 Could you do a video soon about how you dress for different occassions such as day and evening weddings in Europe, date nights, girls' nights, etc. I feel as though we know the more casual and profession sides of you, but I don't remember seeing this side of your style. Thanks!
Justine, you never fail to impress me with your personality, wit and professionalism! In a perfect world you would be my best friend. Wow, your german accent is spot on! I've been studying german for over 20 years and I can't pronounce the way you can.
Have a great time in Spain! :) I was wondering if you could do a video on basics for a capsule wardrobe; tips on ethical brands whos clothing is longlasting? What to look for and what/who to avoid in your opinion? :)
Hullo Justine! I found your channel a few months ago and just flew through your videos! (I especially love the history tie-in ones!) I disappeared down my writing rabbit hole so I'm going to start binging your videos again. 😁 I just, I love your personality. No matter the topic it just shines through. I have chronic pain and it lightens my day to watch your material. I find myself smiling while watching your videos, and that doesn't happen too often for me when I'm having a bad pain day. So I just want to thank you. Your time and effort and thought is much appreciated! I'm also so glad the channel is in English, or I wouldn't have been able to enjoy it! I'm considered only 5% fluent in Spanish (the Americas version). And I'm actually doing some lessons in German, French, and Italian. 😅 It's interesting, but each language has a sort of different way of shaping the syllables, a different tongue position. Spanish is more forward and there's less air involved with T's and S's, for example. And with French, it's sort of lower in the mouth and farther back. It's so interesting to me! Also, I have long loved your nails!! They always look chic and just perfect. I'm happy that the gel polish allows you that look without taking up too much time. I do my nails at home and have to change it constantly, but it's ok, bc I have a bunch of colors and can never pick what I want to do next. 😂 So many options! I'm also impressed that you do all the editing solo! I've long wanted to make a channel to help other people with chronic pain or chronic illness, to give them tips and tricks to cope, have my Dad (a interventional pain management doctor) guest to explain procedures and breakthroughs and how pain works, and try to help the community feel less like they're on their own. But I'm really intimidated by the idea of editing because I know no one who does it and I know nothing about it. So it's sort of heartening to find that, well, it can be done! It still feels like Mt. Everest to me, but it's good to know. I respect so much the amount of work that must go into this! Thinking of what you can contribute and figuring out an efficient way to say it, having good lighting, editing, the whole process is just.... there's so much to it. I'm really glad you go to the effort. 😁 I also stand by you on your hair decision! I'm the same way, always had long hair since I was a kid. Last fall I started sitting on it so it's "short" and just to the middle of my back. I am bored with it to a degree because it doesn't hold curl and I can't do layers because I braid it all the time but don't want to undo years of growth by being hasty. It's a rock and hard place. So you keep rocking the long hair until you're 100% sure of any change you might make! It's your hair, it's your business and no one else's!
Sooo smart, professional and with a big sense of humour, admire you as well as your videos))You never fail my expections. You smile ALWAYS makes me smile back))
You're so calm and factual but not stiff or cold. That's what I love about you. Many fashion / beauty RU-vidrs are just too bubbly for me. :D Also your German is sooo good (one can tell you live in Germany because it sounds very natural)
Justine, it's a bit weird but I used to talk to you while watching your videos. :D I feel you're my online friend. I'm Hungarian, I live in England, I teach German and I learnt French and Spanish. Me the same with the accents, it depends on where you are who do you talk to where is this person coming from, how much did you drink etc. Thank you for sharing your opinions and knowledge.
I love that you are so concise and to the point. Also, you bring a fresh air to the RU-vid as your approach to life is very light, in a good way or should I say a French way (the end result what matters, you don't analyze every tif bit of a detail) :)
It's rare for an English person to speak a foreign language as well as you do. I can understand French so I can see yours was perfect. I don't have the sort of brain that can speak more than 2 languages though so Italian is my language of choice. Well done though, your French is amazing ☺
+Clover Vaira Thank you ;) I'm not used to getting compliments over youtube :D oh, you know, I think everyone is capable of learning and speaking multiple languages. Once you have learnt one foreign language it gets easier and easier. So don't stop at Italian :)
Great video, thank you Justine. The sequences in German and French were a special treat... And concerning your hair: It is nothing but wonderful, never ever have it cut.
I am 70 and find it so painful not to be able to see myself reflected in fashion anywhere. It's fine to say "Age doesn't matter" but as someone whose body/coloring has changed a lot and who has lived a casual lifestyle until recently, I find myself totally lost when I shop. Older women are so invisible in our culture. (American) It was not something I was aware of until now. When I was 50, I still could find things to wear. Now it takes much more effort, but I feel like someone who is just beginning again. I don't want to dress like my mother's generation in a Chanel suit (even if I could afford to!) But I don't want to look like I am wearing a cosrume either, as beautiful as many are. I guess this is just a huge cry for help. Your videos are so helpful to me as I begin to ask myself these questions about my life, body and shapes, colors that suit me. Making the leap from the pain of not knowing and self-criticism, into the fun of "playing dress up" that I had a s a child, is a journey. Thank you so much for your joy, knowledge and clarity and generosity, Justine. I would love to see some images of well-dressed women over 60 in casual, city/office and dinner/cocktail (?:D) wear. Thank you for listening to my.... xoxo
acually as an "merikin, I haear the French accent, but as I watched more ivds, I could hear some of her vowel sounds as pronouced the way a Brit would. You have to be away from your native accent to be able to hear it. Best I ever heard of was a Japanese woman working at a Texas hospital switchboard with a Japanese-Texas accent! but people in texas would not hear her texas inflections, because their regional accent is normal English to them, they would only hear Japanese. In the west we would hear both. I hope that was a good enough and not so confusing explanation that you dont hear her UK vowel pronunciations.
