Listen up, if you're a mouth breather you're going to LOVE this video.
I was.
Since I was born in fact.
I was always tired.
I knew my sinuses weren't in good shape.
So I had surgery.
In the video, I chat through what I had done and how I found it. It's a full review of the recovery and what you're in store for.

I had my procedure done in 2016 at age 47 and it changed my life. However, in my case, the also removed my tonsils and shortened my uvula at the same time. Most people don't have all three done at the same time. Not a day goes by that I don't have at least a quick thought of how much my quality of life, energy level, mental sharpness and other things have improved, a difference of night and day. This was literally one of the greatest decisions I've ever made in my life and certainly the greatest regarding my health. If you are considering doing this, please have this procedure done. You will be happier due to the better sleep quality and you will be able to do so many things you enjoy without wondering when you can take a nap. You won't regret it.

I have suffered from chronic fatigue and insomnia for years and finally went to an ent and figured out how connected it is to my nose!! It was broken multiple times as a youngin and now I have been on quiet a few years of disturbed sleep so I’m just chronically deep deprived! Finally gonna get the surgery this month and I’m so glad I’m doing it now. I am a dancer and performer and not someone who likes to rest and take it easy so it’s been hard for me, thank you for preparing em for what’s to come, I know the six weeks will be well worth the lifetime of finally feeling energized and capable in my body!

Omg that was quite enlightening❤️ so I was searching Nasal septum surgery as my mom has similar deviated nasal bone that blocks her one side of nose almost completely. She suffers from crazy sinus and actually once got it removed via puncture. It not just makes her a mouth breather but as you said, she feels tired and lack of oxygen to brain and other body parts is of great concern too. Headaches and migraines too are caused by this. Now she has a major hearing loss too 😖 I wish we could research about all this years before. Now she is nearly 60 and I wish as a family we could have helped her way earlier 😔 Recently, when my mom said that her ENT specialist has called out for an unavoidable surgery, I was very nervous! I immediately started looking for similar surgeries and thank God I found your video! I have shared this video with my Mom too. Hope this will give her strength. Thank you so much for your video. I wish you a great health and a blissful life ahead ❤️🙏🙏

In 1986 I had a bicycle accident and broke my nose. My left side is totally closed because of my septum. 1993 I had an operation. It helped for a while but my septum returned left. I hate mouth breathing. I'm to afraid to go back for another operation :( . But you are right its great breathing through your mouth. Thanks for encouraging me to reconsider another operation.

Oh I really hope you do. It's interesting you say that timeframe too, because my Father had an Op for his nose about then. And again in 1995. He's been frustrated it didn't work. But, he had a huge long chat with my ENT and he was telling him that they do it now. They use laser and my nose wasn't packed with any filling, it was simply just that bit under my nose for a few weeks. I had NO SWELLING on the outside at all, no bruising or anything. My husband and father are both booked in! Def go and have a chat because wow, what a difference it makes. Stace x

I have sleep apnea also. I was overweight so I lost weight. Still had apnea. I had my tonsils out. Still had sleep apnea. I was given a new cpap machine that tells you how many episodes an hour I have. I tape my mouth to stop the mouth breathing and the machine would say less than 4 episodes an hour which is normal. The day I forgot to tape my mouth it said 14. So it clicked. The only reason I have sleep apnea is because my sinus are always clogged and my brain subconsciously tells my mouth to open. So I’n in the process of getting an appointment date for my deviated septum correction. Hoping this takes care of it 🙏🏾

I’m 2 days out of surgery. No big deal. Groggy for about 4 hours after surgery (have someone hang out with you at home). Took 3 pain pills through the first night, mostly for ‘just in case I need them’ but since that first night I’ve needed no pain pills or Tylenol. You’ll have a scratchy throat for a few days from the tube they use during surgery (not helped by mouth breathing). Mostly it’s a nuisance and very similar to having a cold: you have to rinse your nose with saline every few hours, which causes it to drip (and unlike a cold you can’t blow it). You have to sleep upright for a week and breathe through your mouth. The antibiotics may or may not give you diarrhea. I wish I hadn’t watched so many RU-vid videos before surgery- they had me SO stressed out, and really it’s nothing much.

Is it hard to only breathe out of your mouth until they take the packing out? It scares me a little because what if I’m asleep and choke. I already can’t breathe out of one nostril, but it scares me a little not being able to breathe at all through my nose and only my mouth. I’ve been reluctant to get the surgery.

Sounds exact same as me. I was carrying around a decongestant nasal spray for 5 years which only made things worse. Had mine done 2 weeks ago. Stints came out to e other day. Breathing is only getting better Everyday I rinse at least 4 times a day. Since I had the stints removed, after rinsing I’ve been blowing out these huge rock hard bits of snot. Where do these come from? And when do they stop. It’s so gross but feels so good getting them out. They are MASSIVE!!

I'm asking because when I get a cold and have to breath through my mouth I get panic attacks I feel like I'm suffocating.. so I pretty much just breath thru one nostril since I was a kid but I'm always tired when I wake guess I'm not getting enough 02 .. so yeah can you breath through the nose after surgery? Hi Stacey, over many years Ive seen a lot of patients that have had this surgery & the congestion/cysts etc return after a while because they didnt treat the underlying reason why excess mucus was being created. A deviated septum contributes to sinus congestion, but doesn't single- handely cause congestion. Had you tried changing your diet to reduce congestion?
@StaceyClare
@StaceyClare 4 года назад
Oh Tracie thanks so much for your message. I am so with you, the inflammation needs to go. I should have said, and thanks so much for asking, I’ve been on really high fish-oil and a few other bits from my naturopath. I also worked with my holistic dentist. So hope the cyst stays away 🤞

How about if you've been hit in the nose. Pre-hit, you didn't even know you had a nose. Post-hit, congestion/smelling decrease. How is a change in diet going to fix that?
