Many thanks to @3D80sKid for picking up this Amazing card. Mentioned: @thedrewavintagelegacy6455 @vintagesanctuary @4CollectorsForCollectors Card: 1910 Philadelphia Caramel E96 Red Ames
I’ve never seen that card that I can recall but man it is gorgeous and a PERFECTLY Doug card! Nice job hunting this one down by John, very, very cool! Glad you are feeling re-engaged vs saying goodbye to the hobby, pal 👊😃
Doug, I absolutely love everything about this video! You get a card to remind you of the National you did not get to go to, from John who is such a fantastic person, like yourself, I might add! Oh wait, did I already add that! Guess I can't take it back now! 😆And what a super sweet glorious caramel-stained red beauty! I'm so stoked you were able to pick up that truly exceptional and unique "Doug card"!🤯🤯🤯Mad respect for you, making the cardboard sacrifice for your daughter's education! I mean, when I write it, the correct thing to do seems obvious; but for a collector, it really is a sacrifice. Nonetheless, I am stoked to hear you are hobby re-energized, albeit on a lower budget for now. I will now take the time to chastise myself for not reaching out to talk on the phone with you! Wonder what the chickens think about your glorious new pickup?! ❤❤🐥🐥❤❤🐥🐥❤❤🐥🐥❤❤🐥🐥❤❤🐥🐥❤❤🐥🐥❤❤🐥🐥❤❤🐥🐥❤❤
Will always treasure this card - and will always think of you when admiring the card. And I’m sure I will be telling this story for years to come. Thank you, my friend.
That's a beautiful card! For the past year, I've had less of a budget for my card-picking as well. Keep your head up and still pick up what you can! I can tell you I've enjoyed picking up cheaper cards as well.
Nice! I finally connected the dots on who John was mystery shopping for haha.. Great score, Doug! What a cool idea and favor and win-win it obviously was.
Doug. Doug. Doug. Um... You ever stop to write a comment, then you realize you have nothing of importance to say. Not that you didn't enjoy the video, but you've got a lot on your mind and it's hard to organize all of your thoughts and you want to show your best friend support by commenting on his video, but you also have to shower and get dressed and mow the lawn and work on about six different artworks? Well I'm having one of those moments. But I do love your National-Non-National card and kudos to John for hunting it down for you. And I feel you about not being all in on the hobby. But I stink and I need to stop typing. Later buddy!
I know I don’t have children so I have no basis for this statement, but man it seems awfully greedy for your daughter to cut into your card budget like that! Just kidding! Beautiful card!!! It’s very fortunate for the first name/ background color unity that Red’s parents didn’t opt for their original name choices of Chartreuse or Periwinkle!
That’s hysterical. 🤣 thanks so much, Joe! I’m at a car rental as I sit getting ready to offload a kid upstate. It will be an emotional weekend - but nearly as emotional when I first laid my eyes on this beautiful red card!
