@@ChesnaHoward yeah but what I mean is that your genetics won’t keep your hair from growing. It might take more time or effort but that’s all

I learned from MoKnowsHair that we should either condition or deep condition. One or the other. Deep conditioners are best for type 3 and 4 hair. Regular conditioners better for type 1 and 2, although those hair type can also benefit from regular deep conditioning. Regular conditioners actually start to seal the hair making deep conditioners less effective. When I started only deep conditioning after shampooing I saw a big difference in my hair for the better. That’s probably why you don’t like regular conditioners 😆😁
@FineandDandy104
@FineandDandy104 3 года назад
For the longest time, my protein "deep conditioner" was a light protein conditioner. It's never failed me. I only started using a deep conditioner/mask for my protein because I wanted something more intense. I'm type 4 too. One size doesn't fit all. In fact, multiple sizes can fit one.

I definitely think that depends on the person. I have type 3B and 3C hair and I pre-poo with oil but my hair is always too matted to detangle at that point unless I want to take a couple hours which I don’t. So I shampoo, and then use conditioner just to detangle, and then I still deep condition. And it’s done great for my hair. I find if I go straight from the shampoo to deep conditioner they nine times out of 10 don’t have enough slip for me to detangle.

Recognizing that my specific head of hair is different from hers and I'm merely months into growing my hair out, it's reassuring knowing I've got similar products and a routine that's identical to someone who's had such fabulous results. Genetics in mind, I hope my hair also reaches its maximum length. Definitely picked up some tips and gonna try some of those products!

Pre poo with oil/aloe/rice water (any combo depending on what my hair needs), wash 3 times, deep condition (ideally with heat), then style in a stretched state (mini twists, Marley twists, roller set)....trim when needed. Datsssss it. I’ll never do a twist out or wash n go again haha.

@@Jess-ew3tm they require more manipulation to maintain for some people, so they're not worth it. For example for some people it's low manipulation because they can go for like 10 days. Me, I had to be washing and brushing and detangling every 2 days because the properties of my hair don't let these styles last (too fine), so I do other styles that work as low manipulation for me

I absolutely love going straight to deep treatments from my shampoo. My pre poo is actually my pre detangle with a spray leave in detangler. It costs my strands, add moisture, and gives some luster before cleansing. Leave ins applied in the shower is bae. And a thick cream allow it to dry some and then apply my stylers and I’m good 🥰

*Olive oil has been a beauty staple for centuries, and it’s no wonder why!* With all the _benefits_ of providing your hair with hydration from _its natural oils_ as well as helping to combat dandruff while strengthening strands that are prone to breakage or dryness thanks to heat styling. The ancient remedy is making waves in the modern day again because we've realized how much healthier our tresses can be when they're protected by something like olive oil.

Look into rainbow research on herb. They have henna you can use as a protein treatment and shampoo and conditioner with natural ingredients that strengthen and moisturize. They are also less than $8 for each product; you’ll break the bank trying to keep up with every trend and brand you try. Iherb has grapeseed oil for about $6 and also essential oils you can mix in if your scalp enjoys them. Just wash, condition, and style once a week or every two weeks, moisturizing(listening) to your hair as you go along. Protein(henna or other) once a month or every two months if it’s strong.

@@miscellaneouslife2778 O.M.G......thank you so much queen 👸🏾💖❤. Can I also mix the henna into a deep conditioner or mask every wash day? If so, which are the best deep conditioners to use? Do you also have any leave in conditioner recommendations that are good? Thanks again!

@@fayton30 Products: I recently tried the Miele rosemary and mint hair mask and I liked it with my oil treatment. They’re doing free shipping until Monday if you want to try it out, it doesn’t have the most oz for the price but the ingredients are relatively good. If you don’t want harsh chemicals(everything is a chemical some things are just healthier for you body than others) in your products id recommend making your own, but some people like the ease of it already being made at the store. Just look into the ingredients and see how much silicon, formaldehyde, pegs, ammonium, etc are in the products. I don’t really do leave-ins often enough to recommend products, but products with good ingredients are anything by the mane choice or melanin haircare(people don’t like the mint smell of the leave in but it didn’t irritate me). At the start of my natural hair journey(last March), I did the “water only method” and got full sebum coverage. I would put a Shea butter cream I made on the length of my hair just to help the sebum and then twist it up. That worked pretty well and my hair was longer and stronger. Henna: Neutral henna by rainbow research won’t give you the red-orange tint regular henna does so that may be best for you. I currently use MB herbals henna(red-orange tint) and they are on Amazon, the neutral henna by rr is good as a weekly mask. Regular henna can be pretty strong as a protein treatment if you use a large amount of the powder per solvent, but you can look up “henna gloss” on RU-vid and find recipes with a smaller amount that people use more often. Henna does best on clean hair and mixed with water(teas like black or chamomile too) after sitting for a couple hours in a container so the dye releases, but you can mix it with anything from yogurt to conditioner(just something creamy). You can’t mix henna with metal because it messes up the properties, and mixing with oil does the same(oil henna mix would be good if you use it more often than once a month because it won’t be as strong.) I deep condition or mask by getting my hair a little wet(doesn’t have to be hot water), then applying a mask or store bought conditioner and some oil on my scalp, and putting a plastic bag on my head for maybe twenty minutes(more if I forget). The heat from your scalp will turn the water into steam, and whatever is on your scalp(oil or scalp treatment) will soak in the follicles while everything on your hair will go into the cuticle if the molecules as small enough(people don’t use conditioner over deep conditioner bc they say the molecules of the former are too large to do anything). Overall I recommend doing what’s best for you in terms of products and product use, some people need more protein and others don’t and some don’t care about ingredients as much. I think my natural hair journey being more of a journey home(like finding that home) is why I go for a less manipulated routine, but some people decide to heat train, relax, braid and wig, wash and go every week, etc and that’s fine too because they decided it was best for them. I keep my hair in twists and wear a scarf(silk) out the house, washing every week or two weeks, but that isn’t for everyone either. When my hair gets to my goal length I’ll take the scarf off but I actually like how people treatment me when I wear it so we’ll see(everyone is really respectful and kind). If you ever have any questions feel free to message me on here or my Instagram is miscellaneous_life.

I traded in my olive oil eco for the eco gold. I prefer the gold for wash n go’s and styling, but it’s only so so for slicking down hair for buns and such. I just bought the wet line xtreme because I wanted to finally see what’s up lol.

I have very fine hair so I think the hibiscus fusion would be best for me. I’ve even tried doing natural oils but they seem to only sit on top of my hair and not soak into my hair. Trying to find what oils would work best for my hair type. I love all of the recommendations that you’ve provided. Thank you so much for sharing this information.
