A woman told me after I did my Big Chop "You know 'Natural Hair' doesn't look good on everyone right? You should've never cut your hair".. Pissed me off honestly but I kept with it and now my hair is longer and healthier than it ever was relaxed!
“How is the hair that grows from my head not gonna suit me?” My thoughts exactly! You’re stunning and I think we have a similar texture so I am so happy I found you 🎉❤️ Keep doing what you’re doing sis 🎉
Love your hype. We have the same hair texture and I am Ghanaian as well ! When I transitioned I was so hyped to see the curls and it was just too exciting. Now I wear my hair in a wash and go almost every week or the milk maid braids. Love to see another person with my hair texture! It’s very hard to find so I’m definitely subscribing so I can see what other styles I can do with my hair.
Your hair journey is inspiring! For you to be natural only 3 years, your hair flourished so well! And you got over the hurdle of other's opinions regarding natural hair.
I just want to know who are the haters who thumbs downed this video? You are so gorgeous and I love your hair! I enjoyed watching your natural hair journey!
I love your perception of your hair. It seems as if a lot of people online ‘hated/disliked’ their hair at first and had to learn to live their hair.. It seems as if you never really had a problem with yours to begin, which is like myself.. It’s nice to find a youtuber/a reality I can finally relate to. x
Our story is a little similar. I had relaxed hair and got them twice a year as well and I wanted to learn how to properly take care of my hair because it was breaking off. I was so tired and knew there was more to black hair. So I found some natural ladies on youtube and they promoted using less heat. I ended up not using heat for 6 months and noticed all my new growth! I was like what is this! This is around 2008-2009! I then discovered some natural youtubers. Kimmytube and a bunch of others but Naptural85 was my favorite because her hair looked similar to mine. Anyways, I decided to cut my hair after 9 months and my family flipped! I was in 11th grade in high school! I discovered puffs too and that was all I did in senior year. Puffs and twist haha I went to a predominately white school and girl everyone was shook. I was a little nervous at first but I liked it. I felt so care free! I then went abroad to South Korea when I was 2 years natural. This is 2011 and natural hair still wasn't very in yet and it took everything in me to love my hair! Long story short, now my mom and all of my siblings are natural. I love love my hair so much and am so happy to find more videos like yours.
The OG hair RU-vidrs were so amazing and they taught me sooo much! It’s so exciting that you’ve got a similar story because everyone’s journey to natural hair is so different 😂 Good luck to you and your family’s natural hair journeys and thank you so much for watching ❤️❤️
Thank you! I transitioned for 23 months (I couldn’t wait 😂) and I’m so glad I did tbh, once the transition stage is over you’ll be so shocked at the difference for real
What did they mean natural hair wouldn't suit you??!! Hun! Smh that's why we can't listen to people some times. When God gives you something, He gives the best, and your natural hair is the best suit for you. 💖 First time seeing your video.
I love the fact that you give us a scripture at the beginning of your videos makes me want to continue watching time after time and you sound lovely and all smiley. From Uganda
I’m 7 months post into transitioning, im so excited i’ve been relaxed for 19 yrs seeing my first curls/coils made me super happy i don’t remember my natural texture 😅 cnt wait to big chop next month
Hey YaaYaa...so you leave your protective style in for 2 weeks only, interesting. I typically leave mine in for 4-5 weeks. Maybe I’ll start leaving mine in for 3 weeks to see if I notice a difference in growth. Love the video and your hair is gorgeous
Yeah so if I was doing a regular protective style like a bun I would leave that for a maximum of 2 weeks, but for braids at least 1 month! They take way too long for me to take them out too soon 😂😂 and thank you so much ❤️❤️
Going natural is the best decision I’ve made, although ppl still talking bout “oh it’s so short” “Oh you need to texturise your hair to look pretty” Like sis🙄
when shampoos and conditioners say no tears they mean it helps with detangling hair not that it can go in your eyes 😂 I didn't know that until like 3 years ago.
Hey! Another Yaya here, I just cut my hair and I’m excited to grow it out all over again, it’s frustrating how soo many girls had their hair damaged because of beauty standards etc. Healthy hair> long hair
Miss Yaa Yaa, I use my moms RU-vid account and i scrolled across your video since my mom watches a lot of stuff about hair. The video I frist saw was the one more recently about the rice water method you did. I was really cool for me to see how your natural hair growth was a lot! Right now I just entered into middle school and I've been intrested in natural hair. Currently I don't think that i'm natural. I get perms every 4-6 months because my hair is SUPER thick. My moms a hair braider so I don't exactly deal with my hair often and you videos inspired me. I really wanted to let you know this Miss Yaa Yaa! I'll keep learning for your ah-mazing videos!!!
Loved your video! And the person that said, "natural hair won't suit you", need to know something about our one and only true God! He makes no mistakes! Peace and Blessings!
There are a few videos of people using it with relaxed hair on RU-vid, but I can’t completely say yes or no because I haven’t yet tried it. Here’s a good video I’ve seen by @itsMellaBella though so you can definitely check it out ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-y4ShwrSv8i4.html
Sounds similar to my story, i relaxed 2 to 3 times a year, length wasn't an issue and i never thought i would go natural especially because ppl were so against it but in 2015 i hated how the hair stylist did my relaxed hair, just eww, got upset everytime i looked in the mirror, days later pixie cut, weeks later natural, now December I'll be 4 years natural and i love it, i wish i didn't listen to the nay sayers, if i didn't i would have been 10 years natural this year
love youuu already of course subscribed!!!! my hair stopped growing but know i didn’t take care ,so thank you to share with us you gave me the GAS” to persuade my hair grow TXAU 😘
I love your video!! Can you please reply and tell me what you used for your video editor? Is it all RU-vid because me and my team have a project and we need to make a video. Let me know if you can. Thanks!
Omg l relate to the whole big forehead thing and lm in high school and lm still in that stage you are talking about (hiding it ) is just so ☹️and l wish l didn’t have it l will be able to do so many hairstyle and l don’t talk to anyone about
Hey Mazvita 🥰 I’ll let you know that there is no shame in having a large forehead! I have a very large forehead and always have and it’s honestly so refreshing to just do whatever hairstyle you want when you want because no one can tell you different! Embrace it and don’t look back ❤️
Thank youuu and it’s a song I got from the RU-vid music list, not sure I remember the name of it! At this point I was using my iPhone to edit on an app called LumaFusion, but now I use Adobe Premiere pro 🥰
