One way to avoid plugging up the valve is to remove it before filling with slime , balance the bike and spin the tire around to move the sealer around , then fit the valve and inflate !👍👍
You are a blessed girl, always having angels around you to help you and get you on the road again! Bikers are always willing to help each other, it is their second nature! And who would have the guts to refuse to help you, haha! ☘️
Great to have such friends along the way! When you take that tire to the shop get ready to hear the mechanics grumble. A couple of MC techs have told me they hate that stuff---but they admit it works.
To use flat fix. Remove the valve stem core , have the valve stem at the top or as high as possible. Then rotate the wheel by hand. It helps if it is on the centre stand. Then reinstall the valve stem core and reinflate the tire.
I think the real drama will begin when you change that tire! All that sticky goop in there will NOT be fun to deal with. But, the sticky goop is often a necessary evil. Good luck and stay safe, Kinga
Tire problems, UGH!! So frustrating…temporary fixes always be worried. Kinga, love your adventures. I did cross the USA from NH last year and skipped Texas. Big mistake! Thanks for sharing. 😎
Hey Kinga. We’ve had trouble getting campsites in the past. We started using Campnab to help. We get a short term subscription. Use it to book a bunch at once to max out the value. It has worked very well for hard to book campsites.
Hello Kinga, there are days like this when everything goes wrong. I think that providence sends them to us to make us appreciate even better the days when everything is going well! We have to make this positive and make it possible to make another captivating video. May God keep you Kinga.
Such bad luck in this episode Kinga ! - Glad your 360 is OK ( well it looked OK) ....lucky to have such great people around you ( shoutout to Jay here ) .... catch you in the next one ! ps - I would have opted for a new tyre if you had the chance , just to be on the safe side.
I've had good luck with fix-a-flat by: 1) deflating the tire to 10-12 psi, 2) add the fix-a-flat, 3) ride the vehicle a short distance back and forth to distribute the fix-a-flat inside the tire. Adding the fix-a-flat will increase the tire pressure by a few psi. Add more air pressure as needed.
Big Bend is one of our best kept secrets. Even during spring break there are few people in the park. Did you do Old Maverick Road? I've never used fix-a-flat before but it it's like slime, you need to remove the needle valve, put the slime in, replace the needle valve and air up the tire. Here in south Texas we have a lot of mesquite thorns and cacti.
So nice to look at the sky.. wait till it's dark. You've never seen so many stars in your life. It's really a humbling experience. After about 20 minutes in the dark, the stars are so bright you can walk without a light. I'm definitely going back again soon.
Kinga grateful your able get Chile rolling again wishing a safe journey to your helping hands get back up and going many smiles and peace safe travels 😊❤.
It doesn't seem like the goop would do much for sealing spoke nipples. It will be thrown to the outside, sealing leaks in the tire, but leaving the spokes uncoated.
Drama! Once I had on my prescription sunglasses and the regular ones were in an interior jacket pocket, they came out of the pocket and wriggled down my right sleeve and out as I was deep in a curve…the back tire ran over them! I’ve never had any luck with the inflator/sealer.
I love Big Bend. It is one of my favorites places anywhere. But I wouldn't recommend staying in the lower elevations in summer or late spring or early fall.
Sorry you had so many problems with Chillie in Big Bend, Kinga! Taking the boat across to Mexico at Boquillas and enjoying the Hot Springs are some of our favorite experiences. Glad you were able to fix the tire problems with your friends. Hope to see you again down the road!
You gotta get the tube! Put the Slime in the tube, and put the tube in the tire. Tubeless is a bad deal, you never want to go tubeless. Too many places to leak, the spokes, the rim, the valve. Tube is the only way to go.
That looks like you were pretty much camping in the desert. I saw you were in my neck of the woods a while back in T.O. It was surreal seeing you go through Niagara Falls too, I'm there 3-4 times a year on the bike. You can see my vid on the BRO ride that went around there.
Hopefully some one collected all of it and make a good movie of Kinga & Chille's adventure to all around the world . She is soo much fun and friendly adventurer with Her own strong caracter 👍👍👍👌👌👌
Could be worse. Imagine, Juan Valdes toiling away in the mountains of Colombia, with his little donkey. Picking the coffee beans one at a time. Grinning like the smart ass that I am. 😮😊
I am really happy to see other older people who have been riding all of the country. Kinga l really am happy to watch your adventures. Wishing l was riding with you.
Sorry for your misfortune, but every now and then bad luck sneeks in to try and spoil your day! Don't let it! And I would suggest putting a tube in your tires even if they are rated tubeless because yes eventually they always leak via the spokes and once they do go flat they can leak around the bead as well! This is what I did and never had problems again unless the tire and tube got a puncture! Then with a spare tube you can fix it on the road with a few tools including two flat tire bars. Enjoy your vids Kinga keep on keeping on!
Congratulations you found a thorn 😂 I used to go to Big Bend for a week or two every year I took my old Suzuki dr350 and rode every road I could.. Warning don’t get off the road unless you want one of those thorns under your knee cap not good if you’re on a back road.. You know you might get a prick that will stay with you for even. Those things will lift up your skin like a little tent but before you can get help they get soggy and disappear. Seen any green rattle snakes yet.. don’t pet them. Stick around for the chilly cook off. Have fun for me I’m too old to go anymore 😢
Some days, it seems like you just can't catch a break. That's when you need to stop and do a little slow, deep breathing. Here's hoping you're going to have smooth sailing from here on out. Safe travels and see you in the next one.
If it's the rim you are trying to seal up, remove to valve like Rory said in the comments and posision the wheel so the valve is on 12 o'clock. slowly apply slime so it will run along the inside of the rim instead of the tire. Good luck!
I was just reaching the end of life on a rear tire and the tire shop recommended Slime. The people at the hostel couldn't believe I showed up on a GS and hung around with leaky tire waiting for a new one. I ended up sliming from Alice to Port Elizabeth.
If the air is coming out of the spokes the spokes can be Tighting and get a new Tube . It might be time to get a whole new rim so you don't have any trouble in the future Goodluck
I nodded off ,while riding ,aged 18 ,it's easier done than said . I have an arm that will never be right again after hitting a car coming the other way. So I feel for your sir.
Yeah, that type of leak is a bitch. On a tubeless rim! It's so much easier when you get a nail or similar and you can just plug it, and cut the excess off fill with air and your set to go!!
You so different. Wow you have a lot of confidence to travel on your bike everywhere. I would love to meet you just for a drink one day and chat and say goodbye. I'm going to learn to ride a bike.
10:15 jakbym miał kupić taki motocykl to chyba tylko yamaha tenere 🤭 P.s. nie wiem czy to automatyczne tłumaczenie, ale na polski uparcie tłumaczy "bike" jako "rower" 🤭
Such a hush place the desert is, thoes quic fix for tyre is just for that, i have bad experience of such produkts after a while it leaks and it be hard to fill tyre. I dont trust as a long solution and the tyre shop is not happy to clean the rim.
Tube's are important, you can run tubes in tubeless rims,, Tubeless rims are not leaky liquid stuff friendly but with a tube installed you can use that leaky liquid stuff fine, but use a product called green SLIME, far better. "Fix a flat the stuff yourusing is the shits..
