Finally took delivery of my new mower. Very excited to see how this bit of kit transforms my yard. Check out www.allett.co.uk for more information about the mower.
Ordered my Liberty 43 with the 10 Blade Reel, Vertimower, Dethatcher and Scarifier cartridges in October, still waiting for it to be delivered in Western Australia. Thanks for your video!
Ah man, you must be itching for it to arrive! Mine took ages too. Sadly that's just international shipping all over the place at the moment I think. Glad you enjoyed the video, hopefully you'll have yours soon enough 🤙
Jim Mahoney How do you like the Liberty ? after it arrived in Western Australia and what do you think of the cartridges you bought Would love to here your feed back . I'm in baldivis West Australia 🇦🇺 😎 Using the Kensington petrol reel mower Love it 😀
Definitely going to buy one of these! I was after a used Atco Balmoral or Allett Kensington, but I didn't want the hassle of petrol. We may be terrible at cricket here, but at least we make a good mower! 😅
Awesome vid man, looks like a great mower. I might have to get one in the future. My Couch lawn is sorta the same actually. I've got green couch, blue couch, wintergreen and tiftuf all mixed in the same lawn lol. But it still looks great
Thanks mate! I think having a singular type of grass is over-rated! 🤣. Not really, but what can you do. It's not the end of the world! As you say, it can still look great, and be a nice lawn. 👍
That is a gorgeous mower, I just love the fact Allet are the first to bring battery power to cylinder mowers. Hopefully see the other manufacturers especially ones like Mowmaster and Alroh that are Aussie made start producing battery powered units also.
Your grass catcher should be level with lawn once on. Very common mistake with new owners including myself. Beautiful mower, mine dont look that nice now. 🤣. Your lawn looks great.
It's definitely a great option mate. I'm going to do a comparison between this one and their new bigger one, the Stirling, in a few weeks. I reckon the Liberty is still an excellent choice though. 👌
@@thelionlawn I actually found it easier to control not using the drive system. Tends to get a little floaty and swirly on thick lawn. I got it down now. I just put a small video of my first time doing single double stripes on Thanksgiving day. Our season is over now. 😫
Yeah, I found that using the self-propell just to get it started out of the turn up the hill, and then push the rest was the more natural feel. I will check your videos!
Thanks mate. Good luck with the new one. I really like mine. It's not without it's smaller drawbacks (weight for example), but it is a great machine nonetheless. 👍
This is my first time at your channel so I don't know what other work you've done to your lawn. That said, it seemed like the mower was rocking side to side lots. This could change the height of cut as you move along. That could explain the scalping in certain parts. The lawn might need a couple of rounds of scarifying and top dressing to get the most out of the mower? People with more experience than me might know better. Great video and best of luck.
You're going better than me. After the rain, an army worm attack and frankly a lack of effort mine looks like the surface of the moon. Going to be a busy spring later this year. Yours looked great after the spring tine vid. Cheers.
So far I'm really impressed with it. I have done 3 or 4 mows now, and it's brilliant. Will be doing a new video next week using the scarifier cartridge, and talking about the adjustment and battery life etc. 🤙
Just caught up with your videos love the Allett mower I have mower envy. You mentioned sharpening the other cylinder mower, have you ever back lapped. I have a battery powered Ozito and the back lap works well.
I bought the same mower in Spring 2021. I live in the UK and still getting used to it. I think my lawn needs levelling which is affecting the performance of it. I have always had a rotary mower before. Not sure how to level the lawn and whether it will make a difference. Great video.
Thanks mate, glad you enjoyed the video. I'm in the same boat, my lawn is lumpy and bumpy, so I'm not likely going to achieve the super flat, straight lines that some can get, but the cylinder cut is definitely a step up from the rotary! I tried to level mine during my renovation (some of the earlier videos) but you can see a huge hail storm washed all the new sand away before it got a chance to do anything 😒. Might try again at the start of next season, or just slowly chip away at the bigger divots over time. Good luck with yours, hopefully you can have a go at getting it level!! 🤙
Excellent video. I to have a big lawn and am of a similar build to yourself. I saw that you got a little puffy doing the side. Is that because the new unit is a lot heavier than the Ryobi? I find myself getting cramps occasionally. Carry a pickle juice just in case.
Hi Gordon, thanks for commenting, I'm glad you enjoyed the video. The side yard is definitely where I feel the pinch, and yeah, the new unit is much heavier. I'd love to hear your recommendation for a high quality pickle juice that may assist with the thigh cramps? Is fresh squeezed pickle juice a thing?
Hi mate, yes, you absolutely can use them on a Buffalo lawn. The renovation and maintenance of a buff lawn is different to Kikuyu, but they still look brilliant with a cylinder cut. 🤙
I have the liberty 43 for almost 2 years now. I love it but I have one major complaint. All the weight of the mower is on the left side due to the belts and drives and no big engine on top… because all the weight is on the left side of the mower it digs in harder on the left side and leaves you with an uneven cut. Super disappointed in that side of things. Other than that I love the mower, but this uneven finish is really driving me crazy
Hi mate - Yep I've noticed the uneven balance too. It's frustrating, and I'm trying to find a reasonable workaround for it. Would be handy to not have to worry about it though!
Hi mate, I'm not sure what the current price of it all is, considering the Allett Stirling has since been released, but ADE Turf in Victoria are the Australian supplier, so they should be able to give you a quote. 👍
