Incredible to be able to secure it! Worst feeling ever when you know a perfect boat for you is going to vanish out of your life for good, sometimes you just gotta make the big calls to step an secure it. Doesnt look like you will regret this one bit . Keeping the boys off the trim tabs might be the challenge. But credit to previous owner, that thing is not just a weapon, its a beautiful weapon. So good to see it stayed in your circle.
Thanks mate!! Way too busy this year for the topwater invitational! My business just went up a level at the start of this financial year with a solid new contract, hence the boat 💪🏻
Hey Mick was awesome meeting you on Wednesday seeing the new boat first hand looking forward to seeing more videos of the new boat and fishing adventures.
Congrats on the new tub Mick, such an amazing boat, whoever built it did a stunning job. Love the timber work with the colour up the sides. Looking forward to the future episodes featuring this weapon on the reef 👍
You can do it mate, I saw a Facebook memory the other day from 6 years ago, I had just lost everything in a divorce and I mean everything (except my fishing gear and camera gear), I’d got my tax back and bought a 5k tinny. I’ve put a lot into growing my business since then and look where I got in 6 years 💪🏻
Epic boat mate, well done. Would love to see a waist high bow rail on a boat like that turning the whole front deck into a GT popping casting deck slash fighting cage. Would look a bit different but very practical
There's one of these near why i live in South Oz and if I remember right they're asking over $30K and i think it's up around 35K. I'll check and get the details, I think it's got an inboard though. Yeah like you it's a boat i'd love to own, a few mods I'd do and it would be a savage weapon to blast out far off the South Oz coast line chasing those huge Bluefin Tunas. Top boat champ, well done you've got a boat of a life time
Sweet rig!!! The lines of that hard top are beautiful. Had to subscribe. I sold my Albemarle 24 hull similar to the Formula 233 and picked up an Alb 27 hull that I'm converting to outboard. This video just inspired me to finish the build!!!
So good bro , happy for you & congratulations Mick You had me at “Hardline” I’m looking at buying the same boat bro , how many litres of fuel you carrying in her dude…?
Hey Mick, what are the biggest improvements you you got by adding the fast tails on your boats? Looking at one for my 5.5 plate CC to trim the bow down in a head sea. Congrats on the 233.
They get you up out of the hole alot quicker and lift the ass end, also the big plate on the back accentuates the trim so it’s a lot more responsive. I notice it a lot more in the tinny but it also stops the nose plowing back down in the chop 👌🏻
Towing it with a 21 model Dmax, it’s got a suspension/GVM upgrade and I got Diesel Power here in Mackay to add the Ultraboost twin tune with 175hp on the tow tune 👌🏻
Motors look a bit low maybe try working your way up 1 in then 1/4 at a time and try merc Rev 4 props ....a pair of props that will change your life i swear on it. proper wave smasher cheers....
It goes pretty well as it is, the motors are on jack plates and it seems to be done right. I’m hitting 45 knots at 5850rpm and if I trim out more than 3 bars I’m getting cavitation… I’d be interested to try those props but it’d be an expensive trial if I don’t like it 😅 do you have a similar setup?
@@Micksgonefishing I have installed these props on many different applications and they always outperform the current setup ... they have vicious bite and allow higher engine mounting higher thrust line and less drag. higher thrust line helps push the nose over faster less transom dive on takeoff for better hole shot and the props engineered ventilation allow faster spool of engine to get you up and moving and the 4 blades allow slower speeds without losing plane. so many pros and the only con is you don't have them...lol no merc is not paying me but they should....lol be sure the plastic rings behind the props is not worn out that will cause easy EXHAUST VENTILATION just as you described...CHEERS.
Supa nice, they are rear as hens teeth, dont see many around ,a freind in Mackay back in the day had one never know might be same boat ,do you know the history about the boat ?
@@Micksgonefishing a bloke by the name off Gerry Haber had the boat im thiking of,It was orange in colour ,he would take it out for rescue missions when it was too rough for the marine rescue boat, very seaworty in extream weather, good luck with your reaserch you definitly have a gem of a boat, cheers.
Nice rig. Love that hardtop frame. Im looking at a Re power now and was thinking twin 150 merc or 200 merc. Do you know what your loaded hull weight is? Thanks Anthony
Thanks mate! Yeah I love the hardtop!! Not sure on the loaded weight but it’d be up there on the heavy side. The 150s push it well but I think the 200s would hold a cruise speed close to 30 knots which is where the hull really starts to perform. With the 150s 25-27 knots is my best economy but the hull comes into its own at 30 knots…
Thanks mate. my twin 175 Optimax best cruise is around the same as the 150s . I think I will save the $ and go the 200s in either merc or suzuki depending on price. Can’t wait to get back into 4 strokes.
@@Micksgonefishing commented before i saw the boat but thats a beautiful boat probly the best looking boat ever made dont get any better than a 233 formula 👌
