I had a 2011 DTEC EX auto up until about 2 years ago, it had done 115,000 miles when I sold it and the only problem in that time was a leak on a power steering pipe. It still looked and drove like new. Probably the best car I have ever owned, just gave it a service once a year. I hope my Tiguan is half as good.

Yes very common lower power steering pipe leaks, only £30 from Honda 30 min job. They are fantastic cars and handle the miles very well. Thanks for watching 👍🏼

100% so would I, not really keen of the MK4 CRV, and the new one not overly keen on that either.

When it comes to cars getting stuck in fields and things I'd say the most important thing is your choice of tyres. Perhaps even more important than whether it has 4wd drive or not. A crv on summer tyres will still really struggle in snow. My advice is fit some Michelin Cross climate all season tyres on it which are absolutely superb tyres! Stick them on and the car will be much better in bad conditions.

100% tyres are key to any cars performance on or off road. I have used the CrossClimates a few times good tyres the second generation are far better. Currently trying some mid range AT tyres and they are fantastic

@CarAddictGarageNE indeed mate 👍 Also I think you've got the fuel filter location wrong. It's not buried at the back behind the engine, I think it's slightly over to the right underneath the air filter box. Still a bit of a pig to do or so I've read. I know this because I need to do mine and I've just been looking it up lol.

Had 2.. both mk3's.. a 57 plate icdti and a 12 plate idtec.. loved both of them. Had them for 6 years. Fancied a change and bought an Accord one of the last ones type S. But had it now 3 years and I'd go back to another mk3 CRV in a heart beat.. 😊

Yes I do like the CRV always have, like all the Honda range of this era, had various accords fantastic cars, but I do like the higher up driving position of the CRV and 4x4, otherwise I would never all my A6

Ive got the same model on '61 plate. Replaced the slightly older petrol version i had previously written off. Love them. I have to say the petrol version stacks up better than you might think fuel economy wise and is very nice and smooth. The dtec has an edge on performce but its not huge. I love the rear boot shelf which doubles the useful load space. Really simple and clever idea that they dropped on later models. Its a shame the manufacturers tend to copy each other so much these days. Honda's innovative ideas use to set them apart.

Yes I do hate how manufacturers all copy each other, hence most modern cars are so boring. K20 petrol are fantastic, lovely and smooth and more reliable than the diesel, but been N/A ever really lack in torque, owed a fair few CRV/Accord with K20/K23 just the lack of torque that I can’t get on with

Very very wise choice of car. I have always had Honda both car and motorbikes and have never been disappointed. Always fancied a CRV its the perfect car really for everything. I think its beautiful and the best colour is black for them. Great car.

Yes you simply can’t beat Honda, long as they are rust freed they will out last most other brands. They really are a good all round vehicle the MK3 CRV Thanks for watching 👍🏼

Had a 2008 with 2.2 I CDTi engine (no dpf). Great, rugged car. Changing dif and gearbox oils made big difference to smoothness of transmission.

My dad bought a civic with the same engine in just after I had passed my test, so he stuck me on the insurance. For an 18 year old it was a little pocket rocket - loved it

You always liked them and it looks like you found a decent one, I looked for about 2 months for a decent one but they were all rotten with rust , wet boot floors etc , should be a keeper that one

You know sure am getting mixed up about the 1.6 i-DTEC, can you just remove the top casing, or do you need to remove the whole cage and housing?

Don’t think I have ever owned a Honda I dislike, such well built cars. Hardly ever have issues in the garage with Honda, always routine service work and that’s it.

Can you show us doing the diff oil please Dan?
@Shutityou
@Shutityou 4 месяца назад
Diff oil is super easy. Get underneath, check that the upper fill hole will come out. Then drop the lower one. Then replace the lower one with new crushable washer and refill from the top hole with genuine Honda diff oil. You can make a pump from hand soap pump. Pump it in till it runs back out of the fill hole. Make sure the ground is level so the fill hole is in the correct position.

Always better to have vehicle on the lift, drain it, refill with new DPS-F run the car on the lift (it’s the only way to permanently run the 4x4 system), drain it again, then refill. That’s that’s the proper way to continuously run the 4x4 giving it a full flush through

lol everytime you get a new car its something i like or been looking at? i swapped my mondeo estate 2012 for A6 avant c6 2.0 tdi ? im like you the audi is to low down 4me? plus leather seats nice but to cold lol? Battery drain has been a problem? Rear electric door module might be causing it? Anyhow been looking at honda crv exact same spec as yours? Only prroblem with them my mate had one? When dpf fault comes up ? when you plug obd2 scanner in? it says no fault codes ? he said it was saying contimated oil at honda? So after change oil you have to reset it? Else it stops doing regenaration cycles? cos it thinks the bad oil will knacker the engine ??? Anyhow how much would you charge to change rear diff oil ? good luck !!!
@CarAddictGarageNE
@CarAddictGarageNE 4 месяца назад
Good minds think alike lol…. Must say I’m not really wanting to sell this A6 will pain me. Yes there was various ECU updates regarding oil dilution, you need manufacturer specific equipment to read/ reset the DPF data, main thing is do 6 monthly oil changes keeps them right. Usually ends off been a few hours running and draining diff 2 or 3 times.

I’ve got the same car. Does about 38mpg average which is good for a heavy vehicle in a very hilly location. Lots of bragging from people saying they get 50mpg from theirs but up and down Devon hills it’s much lower.
@CarAddictGarageNE
@CarAddictGarageNE 4 месяца назад
Yes I bet these could easily achieved 50mpg on motorway driving no problem My A6 managed to get 65mpg and that’s a big car
