Good job Mike. Definitely considering one of those mowers to mow ditch banks and around the pond. Thanks for providing the info. 🚜

Thanks for the vid. I am planning to buy one of these mowers.it will be used to cut long grass in my orchard. The trees are in rows and 4 meters apart which is around 13 feet. I hope to work out how to cut the grass between each tree without knocking or cutting the trees. I think it can be done. My place also has gullies and this type of mower looks like it could cut down grass and trees growing on them quite safely. This would be a lot easier than using a brush cutter. We might be buying one made in China. In Australia at least they cost a third the cost of an Italian mower of this type and a quarter the cost of a German machine. Of course I’d rather buy the best but I can’t afford it and if the choice is between second best and nothing I may choose second best, Thanks again for the advice and experiences shared in this video.

Welcome back! #171, I think I am on the same #. That is a really cool mower, I didn't know they made those that went in and out like that. More wood splitting videos!

💙🇺🇸 Hi Bill! 😂😊 I hear you! It has been a while! My wife has a knitting RU-vid channel and she records every two weeks without fail. I just can’t get on a schedule! I just do it when it comes to me. 🤷🏼‍♂️ Haven’t given up yet! Nice to hear from you pal! Take care!🍺🚜🇺🇸

For sure it is a good idea to always hook up the hydraulic outlets the same. Helps to develop muscle memory where you just do instead of having to think first. I like to use colored zip ties on both the male and female side of the couplers so that all I have to do is match the colors. Looks to be a very useful mower. Defintely has some advantages over a bush hog, but also it takes more attention to run it. Good job showing it off.

👍😊 Hi Mike!! Yes! Just started getting to the point where I pretty much know what does what, almost every time 😂😅 There is something to be said for the simplicity of the brush hog, but I’m up for the challenge! 😊 I appreciate you stopping by!! Take care!🚜🍺🇺🇸

Howdy from Oklahoma again! I like those flail mowers especially like that one. But my only gripe is cost, $$$$$! Love that there are no windows or big huge clumps left. Makes for good compost if you could get it and make compost piles or would help hold moisture in your pasture unless you need hay for livestock.
@tractorrookie
@tractorrookie 2 года назад
Definitely more spendy. I made out okay on the brush hog, but I here you. I also had to make room indoors to store it, I didn’t really want to leave it outside. 😌

DR makes a fence line trimmer you can tow behind a 4 wheeler and I've seen 3 point mounted fence line trimmers. I seen good works tractor demo one on his channel made by Titan.
@tractorrookie
@tractorrookie 2 года назад
I saw that also. Not bad. Once the fence goes up, the animals will keep it pretty clean.

Mark your levers on how far you can go with the side shift without rubbing anything if possible.
@tractorrookie
@tractorrookie 2 года назад
👍😊Hi Kip! Not a bad idea. It’s somewhat terrain dependent. On a ditch mow, gravity actually pulls the mower further out and on a bank mow you need more hydraulics. The finesse needed for each area will come to me eventually.😅😂Thanks for stopping by!🚜🍺🇺🇸
@kipcudd7253
@kipcudd7253 2 года назад
Oh yeah ,goats and cattle work good too. But you have to spend more on fencing because of goats ability to get out, electric fence required but then your fence line won't get ate down.
@tractorrookie
@tractorrookie 2 года назад
Right?! And the feeding them through the winter is a factor. Our fields are on an agriculture deferral, so there is that also. I have four goats and four sheep, they make a dent.😊👊

Try to keep the mower on your uphill side. you will greatly reduce your tipover chances.

15 cows or goats would keep it neat and trimmed and you could sell your mowers in the fall for a profit to not have to feed them over the winter and do it again next year. No noise, no diesel fuel, makes you money, and you dont have to get out in the heat to keep pasture neat.

@@TheLettich17 back in the 70s there was a guy in homewood subdivision in birmingham who did just that. Sheep dont bark and he made a profit each fall over their gaining weight and size over the summer

Would that tractor with the flail mower and a bucket be able to fit on a 16" trailer or an 18"?
@tractorrookie
@tractorrookie 2 года назад
😳 Hi BWB! I am thinking minimum 18’. My CK3510SE fills my 12’ deep shed naked. With the bucket and the mower, I think you are going to be pushing 19’. Given the flexibility of how you can place the bucket when loaded, I think 18’ would work. Hope that helps! I appreciate you checking out the video! Take care!🚜🍺🇺🇸

Good video. Looks like the flail will be a good match for your needs. Takes time to learn the ins and outs of a new piece of equipment doesn't it? I've got a a question for you about your Kioti E-PTO. I just took delivery of a CK3510se after 20 years using a NH TC33D HST. Is it me or is it the way the Kioti is. I've used my flails, rotary, & finish mowers for 20 years and the PTO was engaged using a clutch nice and easy. With the Kioti I've gone thru 3 shear bolts on my rotary and finish mowers. My method of engagement is low RPMs (~1,000) then twist the yellow knob to engage. Clunk clunk clunk and the PTO starts turning the blades of the mowers. (Or shears the shear bolt) To solve the problem I've tried a little higher RPM thinking the rpms have to be higher to avoid a stalling condition. No change in the sound. The dealer said I should have the RPMs at the PTO 540 RPM level (about 2400) I refused to even try that. Can't be good for anything. Is it my engagement method, the nature of the beast or what. Find myself avoiding shutting the PTO off once I get it engaged. Do you ever experience this issue?🤥💥⁉🍻 -Paul
@tractorrookie
@tractorrookie 2 года назад
😊🚜 Hi Paul! Yes! I think the mower will work for us, still learning!😎👍 Honestly, as you know, I’m no expert! I have been told a variety of things regarding starting the PTO. That being said, I have never broken a shear pin on start up, I agree that it does seem to slam into action. I tend to activate it at lower RPMs also, it just makes sense to power up after everything is moving. I am sorry you are having this issue, but it doesn’t sound like anything you are doing. I hope you get to the point where you get to enjoy your new tractor. Take care!🍺🚜🇺🇸

👍Oh I enjoy the Kioti. Didn't realize how old and worn out the New Holland was. You're right, it will just take some getting used to the different tractor. I have a grapple ordered. 4 month wait. Here in N Ohio that's just in time to carry snow around! 😬🤠

I have a CK3510SE as well. I always engage the PTO at 1500-1800 rpm or around the PTO-E on the dash. The PTO-E is actually not on the north American versions of Kioti. It is a European thing that allows the engine to conserve fuel by using different gearing in the clutch and still run the output at 540RPM.
