Absolutely voting for the off road idea! I had one of those way back in 2011... I went up every dirt track (when she'd let me) across any field and did 1000's of miles. I'd get home from work, and go out again for a few hours, just exploring... But all the time dreaming of a bigger bike! Got my full license not long after and no bike has really allowed me to have as much fun as that! Set of dual sport tyres and go for it!
Like your work! I've recently rescued my first bike, a Honda CG125, after 9 years sat in storage and I'm getting it back on the road. It's similarly gutless, probably even more so, while only having drum brakes and a kick start, but it's great. I'm far more excited than I should be to get this thing out ripping, and I even got a (claimed) 55 out of it on the flat! That's your benchmark for the world's slowest drag race, I want to see 60 out of your new fangled CBF 😂
I’d say don’t be to over confident, ride how your comfortable, how the conditions are, biggest thing I was taught was to look as far ahead at the road ahead of you to see oncoming traffic, what the roads like traffic wise, how safe it is etc .. and just be mindful that cars really don’t appreciate L plates , just ride you’re ride.. if people get shitty , let them.. but ultimately motorbikes are incredible so just enjoy it
