I love seeing all these HMV 102 videos uploaded this year. I just got a green one yesterday and it's been good fun! That record seems a little off-center and it still tracks it incredibly well!
@@victrolalover7795 Mine is a 1935 102 with no letters. The No. 5B had a rattling issue which I fixed by disassembling, taking the solder out, and re-soldering. I was impressed by the loudness when I first played it also since I've never owned a gramophone before and of course I accidentally used a thicker needle provided by the seller by accident. Even with soft tone needles which I use pretty much exclusively, it's still not exactly quiet with electric records. Sticking a pair of socks takes it down considerably and if you want to do that yourself, the horn cavity is on the front left when the gramophone is facing you.
I'm still learning about gramophones. I thought that all gramophones could only be played at 78rpm, but the silver piece at the bottom left corner looks like its to change the speed. Is there a way to change the speed?
