This is absolutely beautiful. Thank you for your videos. I watch my niece’s girl during the summer. My daughter actually showed me your videos. Anyway we all got together a few times during the summer. First journal making day we all made covers. The second day we chose papers and cut them to make signatures. We cheated and my daughter and I sewed them into the books. The third day we let them decorate them. But many days in between we watched your lovely videos to inspire them. They were so proud of their journals and couldn’t wait to gather keepsakes to add to them. Thank you so much for these great memories
Love it! I created baby junk journal for my daughter today. It’s her first baby. So excited. I had my craft room finally finished and I finally start making my second journal. Her baby is not due til October 7. I got all the stuff ready to get it started. You are my inspiration and I enjoyed watching your video.
I love "wonky" journals. All of mine are that way! Also LOVE the childrens' book illustrations. I still have quite a few childrens' books and I try to incorporate their pages in my journals.
Hi Johanna! I love your journal and your intent of challenging yourself. Front to back is a great challenge. I am challenging myself by doing the opposite in a glue book that someone else made. So I am working with another artist's sensibilities and making it my own. Have fun! 😺💕
Johanna, have you thought of making some journals like this to sell? I love how irregular and singular all of your pages and papers and pieces of cloth are, but I feel really far away from gathering or getting access to all this kind of different stuff and methods, so I'd totally get one to have the experience of journaling on one of those! Or do you know any brand that does something like that with various types of paper and materials along the journal? (also, journal randomly and on the page you feel is great for the moment!)
What a nice pages. It looks like a very practical journal. So handy with the envelopes. Please do as you always do. Write where it feels good. I do it this way, I learn it from you 👍🙂
Great journal. Journaling on random pages might be more efficient because sometimes you may have more photos, mementos to use and writing to do than other days, so picking a place in the journal with an envelope, and/or plain paper page, comes in handy. Likewise, if you choose to journal "front to back," a roomy envelope/pocket page may be not fully utilized on a day that you don't have a lot of photos, cards, or letters to tuck in. At any rate, whichever way you choose, it will be lovely and creative as always!😊

I absolutely love this journal. I love all your journals, but this one is my new favorite. I like how you included that sweet little hanky inside and the cute tabs. I journal from front to back, but I'm one of those who colors within the lines...boring. If I were you, I'd continue journaling in the method you're used to. You have such a creative mind, you might feel cramped if you go in a straight line (from front to back). Can't wait to see how you use this journal.
So I'm leaving for Italy for a couple months and I'm creating three journals for each of my grandchildren. I'm encouraging them to draw, write and paste ~ basically document their experiences this fall to show me when I return. I LOVE what you've done with this cover... Beautiful journal, Johanna! I recognized that first book page right away. I had the large hardbound book of the Child's Garden of Verses as a child. I loved The Land of Counterpane by Robert Louis Stevenson! That book was one of my favorites, too!

I always work front to back, but that's me. I did think that if you wanted to start out that way and give it a try, you can always ditch that idea and go back to your usual. I love your work and like "Done On Paper", I think you were the one that inspired me to start junk journaling.
I've missed seeing your videos and was so happy there was a new one today. I love your new journal and the paper you've chosen. I also love that you're trying new things. I'm using my "Nameless" journal to try new things in. It's my experimental/try it first here journal and it's taking away my fear of paints and other mediums! You can always start out trying to journal front to back in chronological order and if it's too uncomfortable go back to the other way.
This journal is beautiful. It will be so fun to use . I would work all over the journal like you usually do. It will allow more freedom to express yourself. Have fun with it and please share it with us.
I always feel inspired from your journals. Even though I junk journal in a travelers notebook, I am totally inspired for my next journal from your new one. I personally feel like you should keep journaling on whatever page you feel like and it's mainly because you're the one who inspired others to do the same.
Happy to see what I do in my journal.. I use tomoe river paper in my junk journal too coz of hobonichi 😁😁😁 I am excited to see how you use it.. i just write or water colour.. water colour gives different texture and feel to the paper.. you would totally love it 😀😀

I had a ton of ideas with this one, thinking like "Oh this is so cool, I could do this with this beautiful recycled sheet I have for years". Hey Johanna, the journal is beautiful. I like the idea that you are going out of your comfort zone as this helps us grow. For myself I like to do things chronologically, so would like to see what you would come up with. However I also like the way you work. Either way you have inspired me to be better, therefore whatever you choose I know it will be as outstanding and beautiful as always. Thank you for being authentic and you.

I love the softer cover with the windows, you clever lady :) Looking forward to seeing lots in this beautiful journal. As you tend to randomly work through your journals, perhaps it would be a good challenge for you to work from front to back, and I am so looking forward to seeing what you do with the black floral page. I'm intrigued, when you say "scrapbook paper" is it actually paper or card? So many 12x12 pads seem to be card rather than paper. I'd love to see you try working from front to back! I've always journaled like that until I watched your videos and you inspired me to try and get out of my comfort zone, at first it was weird for me but over time I actually quite enjoyed it. It'll be interesting to see how it works out for you :)
