Beautiful boat! But please remember trim your drives down before cranking your engines. If you don't it puts stain on your u-joints in your drive shaft and along your gimble bearings. Not getting on ya just want to help

Put the drives down never run them up. Check the transom. Clean does not mean it isnt rotted. They didnt seal around the exaust well and behind the K planes. The boat with the equipment it has is good for 72mph trimmed perfectly. Also Sea deck is a pain in the arse to clean

Sweet ride. I had a 42ft Fountain back in 97. It had triples in it so it was triple the fun and triple the price. The previous owner is definitely right about passing everything but a gas station. Before I had a fuel tank installed at me house it would take atleast a 12 pack to fill her up at the nearest marine that sold 93 octane. Had some great times in her before I sold it to a good friend of mine. He since then has upgraded the motors to the 502’s had all the instrument panel upgraded along with the interior and had a custom paint job done and he still got her till this very day. Good choice on your purchase enjoy it!

Hopefully the transom is still good on that boat it’s common for them to get water logged on fountain of that age anyways is love to see that boat at offshore race next weeekend

It's obvious the previous owners took very good care of the boat. We spend the winters on the west coast of Florida where there are many boats to see and your's would fit right in, good luck.

Ed is AWESOME! He has a connection to an ‘08 42 Lightning with twin staggered HP700SCs with M6 drives, that is so clean you could eat off of ANY spot in the boat.

what a killer boat. i still have the issue of motorboat & sailing that have the record breaking 90 mph top gun in 1987. im a cigarette fanatic but of course Reggie built outstanding boats. he spent his whole life taking Fountain to the level it is. they are exactly in live with cigarette, outerlimits nortech all the top boats so this was a genius purchase to use for a build. i prayer you will open a box in a future video w/ 4 monster suck boys some i khave no idea what turbo set up and compressor size turbos you'd run on this but i sure as shit hope it gets them. i have never lost a bit of love for quality v-haul boats even as i became infatuated will offshore racing in the 80's through 00's i tried to get to every apba race so i could sit a watch Matt Alcone the whole weekend he just carried himself like a winner and just loved those douglass marine skaters w/sterlings. freakin badass boat you got here, looking forward to see you take a boat to the level you build cars/trucks. its going to be insane. cheers

Love the Fountain content, I've always been a huge Fountain fan. When I was a kid my best friends dad had a 12M ICBM Fountain and we'd take it out on the Santa Barbara channel almost every weekend. Still trying to get my own hopefully sooner than later but anyway, keep the great content coming!

Awesome boat, Justin! I used to race a 38 foot Fountain executioner with a buddy of mine, and it was a great running boat for many years. Even ran it on Lake of the Ozarks one time. Strong hull! I would definitely upgrade to the dry sump #6 drives as you said. Maybe find a nice used set of Merc 850’s or 1075’s engines down the road.

Never run engines with drives all the way up. Your u-joint angle is over 45degrees. Glad you didn’t blip the throttle with full trim.

I love boats! That's part of the reason I watch Finnegan. He's a boat guy too. Maybe do a tour of the engines and out drives specifically. I grew up on the river here in Louisiana and it was always exciting hearing these things come out the woods from the marina. We always heard it before we saw it. Nice ride bro!

I looove fountains. My neighbor growing up had a 47’? It was called Some Like it Hot and it had 5 Marilyn Monroe faces faded down each side and the hood had her with the skirt blowing up. He kept it as lake Texoma and it had triple 725hp engines. At least I think that was the power, it’s been 25 years since I’ve seen that boat

Nice boat. Make sure you get the top ends done on the engines if they are original. The 500's and 525's were bad about head gasket and valve spring failure in the 300hr range. We waited a little too long on our 33 scarab and had to rebuild both engines.

The 42 fountain and the 38 cigarette are basically the same size. Both are good boats. I’ve owned both.

525's should have top ends done with 350 hrs. At a minimum check transom on that boat. Really easy to get burned not doing your due diligence.

350 original hours over the course of 17 years, say you take it out for 3 hours at a time, that’s only 116 times the boat has been in the water averaging out to 6/7 times a year.

Interior. 15 grand minimum.. ssm6 drives. Thats another 100k. Waste of money. You ran the boat with the drives up then reved it.. you should know what your doing before operating that boat.. you could have ripped the gamble apart for doing somthing so stupid..
