In this video I talk about my new Mirka Deros 5.0 Sander and my first time using it! www.borninabarnboutique.net Link for lessons: www.borninabar... Abranet Sandpaper - amzn.to/39StpWo
A great review very informative I looked at one of these when they first came out but could not warrant the cost. I’ve had a a Metabo orbital for the last 8 years and can not fault it, it’s fine for flat work which is predominantly what I used it for. I’m now making different items and involves a lot of side sanding, so ordered the Mirka Deros 5650CV yesterday which comes with a 150 and 125mm pad that’s 6 and 5 inches complete with hose and 50 Abranet discs for £395 which equates to $547 approx so cheaper in the UK. There appears to be a few issues with reliability for some people, I hope this is not the case but it does come with an extended 3 year warranty so fingers crossed 🤞 All the best in your business and your new sander take care as your a lovely lady 😊
@@BorninaBarnBoutique Well I received my new Sander 2 days ago, it’s an absolute joy to use so much quicker lighter and user friendly super impressed. Well done Mirka with the Abranet discs it’s a dream to use, if you can say that about sanding take care. 😊
@@kieranfinnerty631 that’s awesome! I’m so glad to hear that and couldn’t agree more about the sanding discs. I just shot a video today on sanding and talk about them and how good they are.
I am new to your channel and welcome you expertise and opinion. You mentioned you provide instructions and enjoy teaching so I’m new to this craft and am interested in learning basic fundamentals in furniture refinishing. Looking at what products to get started, basic steps, working neither different wood surfaces and best practices from your experience. Thanks
Genna25 thank you for watching - what I would suggest is taking one of my lessons - I offer one on ones and the link is provided in the comments section here in the video! elle jacobs oh I never heard or read that when I was shopping for it - I use it almost daily since my purchase and have. It had a single issue. Best investment - works in half the time my old sander used to!
@@BorninaBarnBoutique Glad to hear this! Thanks ;for getting back to me, If you're interested in the video I watched, it's my hand-i-craft. He explains in detail and you can read the comments. :)
If you do buy a proper dust extractor (which you really should because of the filtering and variable suction) then get a Festool extractor. They are simply the best hands down.
Thanks this video is 2 years old - I bought a festool CT MIDI and a new sander not too long after this video - a Festool 5" orbital (The mirka just died - which I am super disappointed in) I have had it looked at and am sending back to Mirka - but not very hopeful.
the Abranet paper is out of this world...i get an assortment pack of 6 inch abranets, and cut it up to use on the surfprep as a 3*4 screen as well on the 6in festool....dont waste money on any other sandpaper
I have both the mirka deros 650 and the festool Ro125 and for striping old finishes you picked the wrong sander. The festool ro125 in rotes mode blows the mirka away.
You should buy a remote receptacle for your vacuum. I bought it for my turbine sprayer so when I was in the other room I could turn my turbine on and off. I paid $9 at wal mart for it
