Brilliant! I'll be Frankenstein- ing this pitch to sell credit cards at work. Gonna have to be real quick though. ex. Open ended question about what they are buying Customer Response Me: Well that sounds interesting, how'd you like to save $(x) off of today's/your next purchase? (build interest) Customer says sounds great Me: Great! Let's go ahead and setup a new cc account for you today...

How about trying: "Hey this is a great item to buy! The last 5 people who bought this where able to get this for $15 less without a special coupon. Can I show you just how I was able to help them?" This worked for me when I was in retail stores. Work it and make it natural. Good luck!

is this opening assuming you are already speaking to the decision maker? If not, do you still use the same pitch presuming that the person answering the phone will be interested enough to get a decision maker for you? Or do you use this once you get past the Gatekeeper?

I always like using a standard opening that ends with a question only the decision maker can answer. This way, if they answer I know they are and if they don’t know they usually get the decision maker for me.

I don’t engage with negativity, but I am willing to acknowledge it and think about the feedback for a minute before I move on. Life is too short to spend it questioning yourself based on criticism. This is a key to making content that is true to who you are.
