@@killinthezone5683 It has.. I returned it. Came with a completely inadequate air cooled tower heat sink that caused the CPU to thermal throttle under any load. Needed to do a fresh OS install just to be able to install XTU. After undervolt, the CPU didn't throttle anymore but still got very hot under load. I could not change out the cooler because the cooler's back plate was glued to the motherboard. The DDR5 RAM came to me running at 4400MHz base clock. Went to BIOS to hopefully load the XMP profile. BIOS was unable to load any profiles. Nothing Nada. I updated the BIOS to the newest version from Lenovo. Still no go to 4800MHz. Called up support, see if there is anything I missed. The fessed up that the BIOS needs updating to allow the higher speed. No ETA on that. Called up sales support. See if maybe they would pay for a cooler to be able to use the CPU as intended. and what compensation they will give for the lower clock running of the RAM. Nothing... RMA... Decided to build my own. Wound up with better performance with identical specs but better components and cooling for 200.00 USD less then what I paid from Lenovo which was a good price (Lenovo $2070.00 USD. DYI PC 1875.00)
Hey there, curious how it went long term with that 3080 oem. I have the opportunity to buy the lenovo oem 3080 10gb for cheap , however theres not much info. Is it stable for long play sessions? Hot and noisy or cool and quiet? Any info would help! Thanks in advance!
@@coyotestone HOPE I'M NOT TOO LATE couple of years has passed and I've taken apart the whole pc and transferred the 3080 to a different unit -- long term wise, honestly it's not looking too good. I'm facing an issue rn where whenever I alt tab out of games that are on exclusive fullscreen, it takes a good 4-5 seconds for me to see the next screen. Also noticed. A fall off with performance, but when editing and exporting videos it still does a great job, but would def recommend a different 3080
Hmm, I've been having weird frames with Valorant lately where I only hit 200 frames when in low settings. It should normally be a lot higher than that. But I tried to move the 3080 to my Ryzen pc and my frames never went below 400, so I'm assuming the frame issue I'm having is more on an intel problem. The 3080 works fine!
