A HUGE thank you for recommending this. I’ve probably watched you dig a thousand holes but until mine arrived and I dug a few plugs. WOW this thing is fricken surgical. For anyone reading this who’s on the fence..:: just get it! Even if your from another country just pay the shipping! Such a wicked wicked tool. Thanks again paystreak 👍🏽
Just ordered a Phoenix shovel after watching many of your videos. You always come up with such perfect plugs and I was eager to know which shovel you used. I found this video and I am glad I did. Pricey shovel but I know it'll be worth every penny. This will certainly be a nice upgrade from my Root Slayer! =)
Looking to buy a shovel for the fields. Was looking at the hornet, does it feel heavy? Ill walk in the fields for 10 hours straight and i would like low weight, but sturdy enough to pry. The phoenix looks nice for its weight, but I worry about its sturdiness in the fields, as well as the smaller blade width. Also, do you feel your bending your back a lot with the shorter phoenix? I'm looking for something a little more ergonomically friendly. Thanks in advance and HH!
Hey Jeremy I've been watching you for years and I live and breath detecting as of this year. I have 2 Deus 1 and an AT Gold. These are the best shovels avail I'm ordering some for myself and detecting friend. The biggest thing I've learned is...concentrate on Gold and jewelry overall. My goal is to extract every target out within 10 seconds because like you said it is a numbers game. In my opinion...you are the true epitome of a professional detector and my protege!
I think the price went up on the Phoenix, I could have sworn I paid $99 USD for mine 4 or 5 months ago, now it was over a hundred, I was comparing shovels yesterday from different brands online
Great video! (again). Thank you! Do you feel the foot pads are necessary at $15 a piece? If you say they are, I will get them. After watching a lot of your videos, I value your option. Thank you again my friend....
@@killer2point057 Honestly the idea the shovel comes without them as stock is kind of lame in my opinion. You could easily just make your own and bolt them on however.
Bought my Phoenix a while back on your recommendation. I don't know how I ever managed without it. Thanks for that Paystreak! I've been spoiled. All other shovels are sub-par.
Hey Paystreak- looks to me like every shovel out there is straight. I'd like the Phoenix but it is too short. I wish they made a longer Phoenix! Do you wish your Phoenix was longer? I think the Hornet may be my best option for all around use because it is longer and at least has a slight curve yeah?? Do any of the shovels you have seen have any curve besides these two?? Thanks Man!!
I though it was going to be too when I first started using it. I am 6ft tall and it is the perfect length. You could call Pam Lesche at Predator and beg her to give you a special ordered shovel probably for a few extra bucks. I have had people get the Phoenix and say it feels too short but after a few hundred plugs it just starts to feel right. The hornet is a very very heavy shovel and does not make perfect shaped plugs like the Phoenix. I have looked at so many shovels and have used many but I have never seen a perfect parabolic design like the Phoenix. All other shovels just break or bend with the abuse I give them and the other just make horrible plugs. You just cannot go wrong with the design of the spade of the Phoenix and the Durability is out of this world. I own the Spartan, Ranger and Hornet too, not so happy with the plugs those other shovels make compared to the Phoenix.
Thanks pal!!! I have three other models from predator and I love them! I’m going for this one that you recommended! Another guy named Cameron Maser who also subscribes to your channel swears by the Phoenix! Thanks Pal! Love your expertise!
@@PaystreakSuperfreak Brian and I have been enjoying your experience and wealth of first hand knowledge. I love my Predator as well. Thanks for sharing your latest thoughts regarding the parabolic blade man, way cool and ergonomic, especially when your in beast mode tearing through a park for maximum production. Your Oregon souls are much like mine in Seattle in the rainy months I suspect nice a soggy. Correct we wish to replace nicely dressed divots to keep our parks in good order and not abuse our lands as happened in years past by some careless, not all. We can’t afford to be shut down by all the municipality authorities. We are careful and concerned citizens wanting to clean out streams and lands of junk, sharps, batteries and heavy metals like lead from our streams. Cheers, #SeattleRingHunter
@@PaystreakSuperfreak Dude my Phoenix shovel just arrived! The parabolic spade is amazing for cone shaped plugs! Rock on 🤘 man. I still have my trusty Piranha shovel as a backup now. All four of us in our little gang upgraded to the Phoenix. We all sent some love to Predatortools this holiday season 🤙 Time for the hunt… Cheers, #SeattleRingHunter
Just seen the phoenix spade on ebay in the uk which is rear to see l dont come around that often ok £150 plus postage i took the plunge and ordered one look forwards to using it on pasture land eg grass i have got an old army spade for the farm land
Still waiting for my Pheonix. Should get it buy Friday.. I ordered the footpads too.. Not sure if should of bought the pads? Hope I like them they were kind of expensive to get 2....
@@PaystreakSuperfreak Coincidentally I just finished putting pads on my Phoenix.. Both shovel and pads arrived today! I like the larger space for your foot the pads provide!!
Thanks so much Paystreak for the countless hours you put in detecting. I live in Delaware and wish I had a hunting partner like yourself. What do you do for a living sir. Thanks to you I purchased 2 Phoenix’s and love them. I use the handle to push myself off the ground. I’m only 57 but had hip replacement, it’s just an aid to make sure I don’t injure myself
I was a lab test engineer at Microsoft for years, I also worked in mining and machinist/fabrication. I am retired now. The Phoenix really is an awesome shovel.
@@PaystreakSuperfreak I knew you weren’t just run of the mill detectorist, it’s by the way you talk. You are a very knowledgeable man and we all appreciate your wisdom. Would you happen to know how we can contact Nokta on the Legend. I personally would love to see a bolder square over the options. Even a line about would be great. I have a hard time seeing what option I’m on.
The Hornet is much longer and heavier and thicker shaft. Also the Hornet does not have as much of a parabolic shape to it as the Phoenix. It does get through the hard clay though.
