Part 2 of me shooting my new Taurus 44 Magnum at 25 yards. I am chrono graphing and zeroing it with Magtech 240 grain FMJ-FLAT. About 60 degrees (F), little to no wind this time.
BUFFALO!!! Yes, thank you very much. I been hoping to find this revolver in my area and after years, I finally got one. Also been watching some old western tv shows lately.
great dialing of your sweeeet canon brother !!! great hunting i cant wait to get the 45lc's i got . need 2 more water jugs thank i can send them . enjoy the day .
Thank you, I'm glad it was easy to dial in. The only handgun I ever had to zero in was a Ruger MKIII Competition Target. 45LC...those are very nice. A buddy of mine has a lever action carbine in 45LC and it is soft shooting in the carbine. Have not shot a 45LC in a revolver yet.
heck ya Andy . i cant what to se some r&ding with your loads too. the mkIII's are really nice senders . i got my jugs so i think ill be able to send some this week before i roll to work ;-) well see . enjoy the rest of the night and thank you
Niiiice! That's really good from 25 off hand. I've sat in the blind the past few days with my Raging Bull 44 mag hoping the hogs would show up, but no luck yet.
I believe you, sir. I also use 240 grain MagTech ammo but shot 50 rounds in a span of about a month. Yup, the grip is where it would bug me the most. Seems a little thin in that area. I been thinking of buying a wider grip for it to what I'm thinking will distribute the recoil. Just a guess at reducing felt recoil. I'll bet though, that 4 inch barrel would kick more.
@@andyprairiedog well the M44 models are considered the “work horses” of Taurus. The “you can’t break these no matter how hard you try”. Which is why i got mine. I actually traded another gun in for it. Brand new its was around $555. Which is great. But it was technically free in a way lol. I took it home and in a 15 minute span ran 240 grain ammo. Was really trying to sight it in. The flick is pretty big. Rises but stops in the 12 o’clock position. The only thing is, when your palms get sweaty, the grip can kinda suck. It is thin rather but its a heck of a lot better than that weird taurus tracker grip with all the cuts in it. I put a glove on and never had another issue. It being kinda a hunting style revolver i think it was meant to be shot with a glove on. I love the 4 inch though. At least i can’t stick it in my waist band if i needed to
If you want to have some fun when you reload, make up some lead, round nose or semi wad cutters in "Cowboy Loads". They're a little slower and don't hit as hard but it's some fun plinking.
@@andyprairiedog straight lead is good at lower velocities, less than 1000fps. Shooting low velocity loads in that revolver will be like Shooting a .22, well, not exactly but it will be a creampuff. If you shoot straight lead rounds at high velocities it will start coating the inside of the barrel and cause problems.
